  • How am I suppose to eat meat that isn't processed?

  • I'm no anthropologist, but I'm pretty sure that our ancestors ate anything and everything they could get their blistered, unwashed hands on, and shoved it ravenously into their faces right there on the spot.

So, yeah. That's not really what the paleo diet is all about, is it? Incidentally, what's all this nonsense about lean meats? Shouldn't they be telling us to eat more heart and kidney? Doesn't the healthiest, most nutritious meat come from organs?

Pass the small intestine please. Mmm, paleo.

  • I was vegetarian for over a decade and vegan for a couple of years after that. I did lose weight but didn't feel healthy. I can truly say I do now on this Paleo diet. Its not for everybody. No diet is a one size fits all. Finds what your body needs and responds best too, exercise and live...

  • im not taking advice from a fat woman.

  • Fruits were not available all year round!!!!!!!!!! Only by seasons!

  • there's nothing wrong with saturated fat.

  • the modern lifestyle is generally physically active. we must simply consume less calories. the trick is to consume less calories yet have enough nutrients. a diet with loads of fruits and vegs and lean meat and whole grains is to the way to go.if i exercise that day i would eat more grains. no exercise less grains.

  • The lady is a complete fucking idiot. "cut down on saturated fats and red meat" what the fuck does she think our genome is evolved to eat other than bison and deer? Red meat is king!!!

  • @alickamoso1 I was just going to say the same thing. LOL. I dont know where they found that 'specialist'.

  • @alickamoso1, Red meat is known to cause cancer, heart disease and obesity. There is no better diet for human beings other than raw fruit and veg. It is no wonder people who have had cancer or diabetes and turn to to this diet of raw veganism have cured their diseases. google: meat in the human diet. and read.

  • @superluminalthought Red meat is known to cause nothing but a well satisfied diner. Hormonal imbalance is what causes obesity, carcinogens are what cause cancer, and diabetes is caused by failure of the pancreas.

Get your facts straight, or shut up.

  • @TheSmackerlacker, Obesity is caused by 1 thing, overeating and no exercise. Red meat when cooked is carcinogenic and I didn't say red meat causes diabetes you clown, I just said the raw vegan diet can reverse it which proves it is the best diet for humans. Now you shut the fuck up.

  • @superluminalthought The idea that obesity is caused by overeating and lack of exercise is extremely common, but also extremely fucking stupid. Do you really think that a combination of very complex systems, all working in tandem to maintain itself and keep you alive, could be so affected by fucking math?

Anyone who's ever taken a shit should know that your body doesn't just hold onto whatever you shove into your fat face. It keeps what it needs and discards the rest, UNLESS SOMETHING IS WRONG.

  • @TheSmackerlacker, There is somthing wrong, Obesity is a sign you're fat gluttonous bastard who consumes more calories than your body burns off, which is why it has to be stored as FAT instead of burnt for energy. NOTHING IS WRONG.

  • @superluminalthought Your body doesn't have to store anything. It could just dump those calories in the large intestine and be done with it. The body stores fat to prevent death during periods of starvation. It will attempt to maintain about 10% body fat, and discard any calories that it does not need.

To simply glom onto every calorie consumed and hold onto them would be suicide.

People overeat and become sedentary because their energy needs have increased, not the other way around.

  • The problem with this diet is that how much meat are we supposed to eat? How much fruits, vegetables are we supposed to eat?

We wouldn't be able to hunt during ice age that much because most of the animals are way too fast for us to catch and they can outrun us, when we could just pluck fruits, vegetables, nuts off the ground easily. We needed some major technology to capture bison like a gun, but we didn't have that back then. All we had was a carved out piece of stone that couldn't do much.

  • @CBasie2856 Not really about how much of one thing to eat, but what to AVOID eating. Many paleo advocats vary on what is acceptable and what's not ie dairy, honey, alcohol. Generally, they all seem (from what I've read and I haven't read it all) to promote eating whole, clean foods. I think you need to head to the library and pick up a book on how early humans hunted. Humans had no problems working together and could take down even big mammoths; plus, don't forget fishing by those on the coast.

  • @CBasie2856

not trying to be rash, but during the ice age all we had was animals. You couldnt just pick up a papaya or orange off the snow covered ground and expect a few imaginary fruits to appear. They were no where in sight, and even if they were they wouldnt have been able to supply us with enough calories to get us through the Ice age, let alone a few weeks out in the cold. Cant just easily pick fruits and vegetables off the ground. To see this, go out in the woods and there is nothing.

  • @alickamoso1

Down south it was much warmer. The ice age only affected the upper part of the world and the lower part of the world. In the middle near the equator you could see more vegetation.

  • Don't forget you can only eat unprocessed foods, so no GMO beef, you need to cut the portions yourself. Better yet caveman, catch it yourself, something tells me then you will be thin.

This diet is exactly what natives had before the rape and dessication of their lands for cattle grazing!

Wise up people, unfortunately when you're still fat, you will quit this diet too and blame it for your problems.

If you're a pig you are going to be fat no matter what. It's not the diet its you.

  • The way I see it, if your lactose intolerance then you havent evolved the ability, but, like me, I can eat dairy products so my body is evolved to eat dairy. Other then maybe grains, this is a great diet option!

  • There really is nothing wrong with grains and lean dairy products! Oatmeal is one of the things that is most healthy for you and lean dairy is low in fat and has a decent amount of protein. Not the best source of protein, but still. Cottage cheese is a great diet choice and so is yoghurt!

  • @jlvi13 if you look at the nutrition of fruit an veg there very nutriant dence foods but grains and legumes are like the empty calorie foods of nature especialy white breads etc they got nothin whole grain is alot better but if ya had 300 clories worth of bread vs 300 calories worth of fruit an veg the carb foods ie bread pasta potato poridge doesnt come close

  • @RandyNumNutz I couldn't agree with you less about the bread, pasta etc. Vegetables are good, and I can't deny that fruit is good, but fruit hasn't that great value except for the vitamines. Vitamines are not the most important nutrients. They don't have the name Micro Nutrients for fun. Macro nutrients are most important. Protein, fats and carbohydrates are best. If you are surviving for example, you don't care about vitamines, but only about fats and protein and some carbs. Those give energy!

  • @RandyNumNutz I do respect your opinion though xD Diets without bread can also help, but bread is always in a bad light while it's actually good for you. Of course I'm talking about whole grain bread. White bread can hardly be called bread because of the sugars in it and stuff. Legumes are a great source of protein and have a better Macro nutritional value then regular vegs. Diets with obsession for fat and carbs are both stupid I think and it's time that people understand you can eat them both!

  • Um, I think THE book most "Paleo-eaters" would cite is "The Paleo Diet" by Loren Cordain! How the hell did they miss that?

  • @2painfull Yeah, that woman doesn't look too healthy herself :) She's got it a bit wrong though I agree on the sugar front.

  • @2painfull Correct, the author of the Omega Diet got some of her ideas from the Paleo diets of Boyd Eaton and Loren Cordain, not the other way around.

  • @2painfull

You'd think so, but that book is not a great paleo book. It is a sellout that suggest lean meat, completely avoiding the fact that REAL paleo eaters mostly got their calories from fat.

  • @alickamoso1 What's a good paleo book?

  • @alickamoso1 What's a good paleo book? There's many out there with slight variations. Suggestions?

  • @melymeld

look at stuff by real paleo type pioneers like vladimiar steffannson and Nanson who were explorers. These men had great survival stories. Nanson was stranded in an igloo for over six months in the arctic and all he had to eat was seal and blubber. Stefannson lived with the eskimos and only ate meat. The eskimos ate nearly all their meat raw. Look up the dentist Weston A Price, who travelled the world to see what healthy tribes ate. Look up his book Nutrition and Physical Degeneration

  • @alickamoso1 I will check those out. They sound great by being written by people with practical and immersed experience unlike many other newer (sometimes "fad" bandwagon) paleo books. Thank you!! : )

  • @melymeld

No problem. The best way to figure things out in this day in age is the same as it was 1000 years ago. The idea is, what would you really eat and have access to if you were stranded in the wild? Animal has to supply the most amount of our calories and anybody who tells you otherwise is just delusional. Tell them to live out in the wild for a week and see how much fruit and vegetables they can pluck instead of hunting wild game. Cheers, and good luck.
