  • 23 pple are jerk...

  • One of the best duells ever in movie history. The proof that you dont need a gun to utterly destroy someone. Even if I, with my poor skills, had to drop it onto someone.

  • rag is so boring

  • This guy is the same one from "Lie to me", right?

  • @seba1989ss Um, yeah. Tim Roth xD

  • this is one of my favorite scenes in any movie ever.

  • the best movie ever

  • what did Jelly say in French? 1:55

  • @Tourqemada excuse moi siltouplait (excuse me please)

  • @Tourqemada excuse me please

  • @Tourqemada "excuse me please"

  • Actually, the Silent Night is a truly genius response.

  • i love this movie soooooo much

  • nigger run!

  • aaaaawwwwemazing!!

  • " i cant help it, music makes me cry" fukin aweome. i fukin love that tune

  • Well, turn it down you idiot!

  • beautiful music

  • The best movie and the best scene ever!

  • lol :3 <3

  • Silent Night...FUCK DA POLICE

  • is that movie is a true story???????????

  • @TheRose2002 its based on a book i believe

  • @TheRose2002 nope.. but jelly roll morton is real

  • I would learn piano for these two. (But speacially for 1900, sooooo cute!!!)

  • FUCK THE PHOTOGRAPHER!

  • sounds like some old nintendo game theme

  • HELP ! can anyone name the title of the music, whick jelly roll plays at second time?

  • @abutidzesaba ennio_morricone_-_the_crave...are you about this??

  • @davdanielyan yup ! thanx, dude !

  • BTW, Jelly Roll did not invent jazz. He did popularize it and change it, but he was too young to have invented the sound.

  • I spend months, MONTHS, practicing this after I heard it. I watched this video over and over and over, almost half of the views are mine. I'm here to tell you my friends that I have perfected "The Crave", the piece which Jelly Roll Morton plays after "Silent Night"

  • PLZ HELP! :P whats the title of the first song jelly roll morton plays? its not 'the crave' thats the next song he plays :P

  • @bballplayernumber4 Big Fat Ham, or sometimes Big Foot Ham

  • W.....onderful........

  • I love 1900!!!!

  • im only now realising tim roth played 1900

    wtf

  • just a question, what is this movie called??

  • @EliasCalabretta1 The legend of 1900

  • funny that the actor playing jelly roll morton looks like his complete polar opposite.

  • @crashnburn753 It's Clarence Williams III, the grandson of Clarence Williams who was also a pianist in new Orleans.

  • FUCK THE PHOTOGRAPHER! its sooo loud on my headphones!

  • 24 people like dj kahli instead of this

  • @1TomAhs1 The Crave,i think

  • Anyone knows the name of the song at 5:30?

I want to learn it on piano...

  • Sensacional!!! Uma das grandes cenas do filme!!! Musica, fotografia, figurino impecáveis!!!

  • What's the last piece called?

  • @MusicFreak1303 The Crave.

  • No, 23 people have heard Hiromi Uehara play and find this scene a sandbox.

  • He's also showing that he can play so smoothly that the vibrations from the piano don't cause the ash to fall off the cigarette.

  • Sorry for the duplication of my comment.

  • Comment removed

  • If any person of color walked into a such a room in the early or mid-20th Century and behaved as Jelly Roll Morton was depicted in this film, he would be swinging from a tree like strange fruit before his black fingers had the privledge of touching those white keys. This pair of scenes may be a fantasy, but it is also an insult history and to the memory of Jelly Roll Morton.

  • 5:30 hows that song called?

  • @adonakos100 The Crave :)

  • Wow, two of my favorite actors in one amazing movie!!!!

  • This shit is so dramatic when you're high

  • @NotoriousPimp24 haha i thought the same shit and the music sound really good too

  • Great music, great scene...

  • What is the name of the first and the fifth (after "The Crave") song?

  • first song like a baseball game

  • according to hollywod this movie was a flop but in rerality greatest evar

  • 23 people dont know anything about this masterpiece.

  • @ILOVEGTASERIES in other words...23 people suck

  • These "duels" are actually called "cutting contests". They ended when Art Tatum showed up for the sole reason of beating everyone at it.

  • "you have a Wonderful smile...... " 1:58

  • i like how when he walks in, the entire room whispers 'nigger D:' hahahah

  • dont know why the first music reminds me of mario......

  • Whats the deal wit h the cigarett?

  • @jhasjkfhkjs to play that aggressive and not ash the cigarette by shaking the piano would be very hard.

  • @TicketsToVermont thank you, kind sir.

  • @TicketsToVermont And also pointless.

  • @jhasjkfhkjs Jelly Roll Morton is showing he can play so fast that the cig doesnt burn all the way down to the wood, so 19 shows him with a cig he can play so fast not only can he do the same thing but light it with the heat from the strings of the piano

  • Amazing !

    Hala Madrid!!

  • 2:37-3:13 is one of my all-time favorite movie quotes.

as for The Crave, it's simply AROUSING!!

  • i love this movie so much its very touching.

  • there are 23 stupid pepole that they don't like this masterpiece shame on you!!!!

  • "Enduring Movement" by Enrico Morrocone.

  • it never gets old

  • For a guy in a suit, Jelly Roll Morton sure has a lot to do with his hands.

  • what's the second that jelly roll morton plays? it's so cool.

  • @nyhilusofborg the second one is a piece called "the crave". I love it too.

  • My favorite films

  • some knows, where can i foud that version of " silent night"? in MIDI please, i beg you! is an amazing piece.

  • Dr. Lightman!!!

  • loll i think i saw Luigi in there

  • I love this movie until today i wish i could play as good as 1900 but thats only a dream for now lets watch

  • lmao at the white people in the beginning "hes a nigger!" now if someone said that to me when i walked in somewhere to play music i would smack them with a brick

  • @JamesPriceJohnson hell, you wouldn't have to, they'd be jumped and keel-hauled in *our* world :P

btw, can we see some of your stuff? have you played somewhere where they have video equipment?

  • @jozefknaapen At the moment my piano is apart, i'm in the process of restoring it. When it's done though i'll post some videos.

  • @JamesPriceJohnson looking forward to it, my friend... let me know if you are up for gigging anywhere between Detroit and Denver... I have some people in that expanse who are always looking for insightful and inciteful musicians to liven up the venues...

  • @jozefknaapen the sad thing is i don't live anywhere near there, and i'm only 14 and a half.

  • @JamesPriceJohnson that's not sad! it just means you have an extra few decades to one-up the rest of us!

also, I have contacts all over the world... have your parents get ahold of me, I will give you all the contact information you would need to further your musical academics and career goals! Peace and long life :P

  • @JamesPriceJohnson I hear people say that word a lot. None of the them are white though.

  • @KnightOwl2006 if you are referring to black people saying that, we actually mostly say "nigga"(not meant to be racist) rather than "nigger". go watch the video about the white teacher that called a student a nigga. funny video, but you'll understand what i mean.

  • @JamesPriceJohnson It was the 1920's, man. He's lucky he was allowed on the boat.

JRM was once told, when he walked into a bar, that drinks for "his kind" were $50. He laughed at the attempt to get him to leave by whipping out a thousand bucks in cash and buying a round for the house.

  • @TheLastBrainLeft Wasn't Jelly White though?

  • i like this music any idea what is its name?

  • best movie of all thimes

  • What is the name of the piece that Morton is playing at the end of this video?

  • @AshOGrady it's "the crave"

  • @AshOGrady

The crave, is the name of the piece :)

  • "Is it christmas already?" I bet couple of hundreds of these views are mine...

  • Isn't Jelly Roll Morton white? xP

  • 22 people are descendants of jelly roll morton

  • fuck jazz to

  • Tim Roth is an absolutely beautiful man.

  • love every string... and node too PAINO...

  • The second piece Jelly played was really catchy, I loved it, really. ;)

  • great movie..^^..

  • Whats the name of the Song at 5:30.

  • @BossSelect THE CRAVE Jelly Roll Morton

  • bravo performance!!

  • Perfect voice from piano and expert from pianist ^ ^

  • what's the thing with the cigarette?

  • @trelimastoura if you listen to the narrator, he mentioned how light Jelly's hand is on the piano. He caresses the piano, he's like a butterfly. A cigarette's ash is very fragile. Jelly Morton's trying to show how light he plays by putting hte burning cigarette on the piano and the ash never broke.

  • What's the name of the first song that Jelly roll plays at 2:20?...the mini pauses in this song slighly remind me of Joplin's "Stop Time" Rag

  • What's the name of the first song that Jelly roll plays at 2:20?...

  • @IrishAquarius

It is called "Big Foot Ham" by Jelly Roll Morton =)

  • The last song of the clip...

Somebody knows how is it called?

    Pls HELP!

  • he said " music makes me cry "

    and

i said " piano makes me cry "

    greatest movie ever made ..

  • my pants grew a piano key while listening to those two

  • Imagine if people then could see the world now. Bring a 9 year old Korean girl out and she plays it like Morton.

  • 00:4 "He's a Negro"-The good old American public for you.

  • does Tim Roth actually plays piano in real life cuz i'd really like to know?

  • @CBoneSImWolf No. In the scene where he plays Playing Love for the record guy, the notes aren't right. He plays it in C major masing a bunch of keys when it shouldn't be.

  • @josiah566 Tim Roth isn't playing at all in this movie, but he acts like he is well. Even his fingers are good actors. ☺

  • @EddyVitkauskasXband That's quite true. The finger posture looks quite polished.

  • whoever plays 1900 is my favorite actor! he is amazing in Lie to Me

  • the first time i saw the movie he starts playing silent night, i was like...what the..?

  • A fancy ashtray right next to the glass, yet he wastes the high end booze instead.

  • First one is called "Big Foot Ham" or sometimes named "Big Fat Ham" or "Ham and Eggs"
