The really sad thing about this from McCain's perspective is that Davis might've been right......until they picked Palin and alienated everyone who isn't a yahoo/bigot/racist/moron.
LOL at McCain having any chance in half of these states now. Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennslyvania? Lets see if he can even hold on to traditional GOP states.
2:33; this chart is extremely misleading. Notice that it has 4 categories: Very conservative, somewhat conservative, moderate, and liberal. There's no differentiation between somewhat liberal and very liberal. 46% perceive McCain as somewhat or very conservative, whereas 55% perceive Obama as "liberal." I'd be willing to bet that if you had a fair chart that differentiated between somewhat liberal and very liberal, you'd see the numbers similar to the chart for McCain on the left.
Why does everyone get so upset with polls you don't want to be true and so excited with polls you wish were true? Just take it easy and wait until November. I don't know why everyone gets so worked up with anxiety in this hour by hour news world.
McCain can go into PA, and fight for it. He is actualy close, recently if not leading. Also, McCain can take Florida with ease, if McCain goes after the East and South and try to make inroads. McCain curently is doing beter than Reagan after the convention. Bush was behind the whole race as well( I do not like Bush, but thats why I like McCain).
Interesting tidbit...Out of the 10 Most Educated States in the U.S., Obama is leading in 9 and is in a dead-heat in the other--that being Virginia. Out of the 10 Least Educated States, McCain is leading in all 10. I think I'm detecting a pattern here....??? Maybe a good slogan would be: "Republicans--uneducated and uninformed."
obama he is basing everything on race and giving people stuff they didn't work for. ie: if you don't WORK for healthcare, you shouldn't have it. if i can get out there and work, so can you. another thing that upsets me, he wants to tax the rich people more. they already pay more. 10% of 10,000 is a whole less than 10% of 10,000,000. taxing someone more because they got off their ass and got a better job than you isn't fair.
Today, according to the polls from Newsweek and Rasmussen, McCain and Obama are both tied!
Today is the first time that McCain's support has moved above 45% since Obama clinched the nomination on June 3. It's also the first time the candidates have been tied since Obama clinched the Democratic nomination.
McCain improved his position slightly in Missouri and New Jersey
his electoral map is not quite accurate when compared to state polling. Virginia is a toss up, not a solid red this time. 20% of Virginia is African American and they will vote in large numbers for Obama. in addition, there are many grey states on his map, far more then the 74 suggested as toss ups. it is funny to think that McCain will win this election unless he takes ohio, flordia, and 2/3 in virginia, michigan and colorado. that will be no small task...I am pleased to say Obama will win
McCain is his own worst enemy, he won't listen to his advisors advice. Obama's running circles around McCain, McCain can't win, he's too stubborn, too old, to get it right...Obama's campaign is modern, his appeal to the youth vote, ect has already become apart of pop culture. Sorry McCain, your running an uphill battle..
Senior advisor Steve Schmidt, who had been traveling with McCain, is taking over day-to-day operations; campaign manager Rick Davis will shift to a less central role.
.... and if you divide the number of voters in swing states by the square root of John McCain's age, you get a number that ends in 39 which is John McCain's gramma's lucky number! The signs of victory are all there!
Forms that Davis (McCains campaign manager) filed for his work on behalf of such clients as SBC Telecommunications, Bell South and Verizon show that he lobbied only the Senate. Davis took a leave from the firm in 2006. He also managed McCain's 2000 presidential campaign. He was deputy campaign manager in Bob Dole's 1996 campaign.
I have been following this thread for a few weeks now.
It's clear that the only voters McCain can get are ones he siphons off from other candidates. This week it has been all about courting people who were going to vote for Hillary Clinton.
You have to keep Ohio and Florida and flip Michigan. Run ads about how Obama disinfranchised voters in both those states and get the Hillary votes there
Thanx for the spin, but everybody already knows Mccains full comment.
He said that we've been in Japan, Germany and others for 50 and 60 years, and as long as, American soldiers are NOT in harms way, a 100 years of American presence in Iraq is just fine with him. And is quite frankly the only way to assure peace in Iraq for years to come.
One thing about the independents, Republicans and Democratic voters. The bars makes it show as if McCain winning a higher percentage of the base than Obama means he would win. They deliberately forget to say that Democrats outnumber Republicans by a huge margin.
Most of the comments don't seem to echo the fact, it's a lot of cherry-picking going on in this clip.
And the ENTIRETY of the media with the exception of FOX doesn't do the same thing for Obama? oh and im positive that Obama would NEVER lean things his way pft.
I was using polls of polls from Real Clear Politics. The average is no where near what they had for favorability and they only used state polls that were favorable rather than using one consistent source or an average of all polls. Ya right, it's just Fox. What about the Wall Street Journal, right wing radio, Scaife's publications, and all the right wing periodicals. Obama has the lead in nearly all the general election polls and he is just starting to get his nomination bounce. Exciting,no?
yeah and all those are outnumbered about 10 to 1 by The New York Times, the LA Times, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, and God only knows how many other channels and newspapers. The sad thing for you is general polls are a fraud its all about the electoral college and even your friends over at CNN admit McCain is ahead there. I'm not blaming the media for McCain losing because he isn't losing im simply pointing out its ridiculous bias.
So it's not the "ENTIRETY" of the media, huh? I haven't seen electoral college maps with McCain ahead. But I follow that pesky mainstream media I suppose. I need some info from the Ministry of Truth a la Orwell, which your login name and opinions seem to indicate you are a part of.
i said the whole media except FOX and liberals usually assume FOX controls everything that is right wing in the media so i like to indulge them and leave it at FOX.
go to CNN's website and look at their electoral map it has McCain slightly ahead with a bunch of toss-up states that most are more than likely going to go for him.
Also i'd like to congratulate you as the first person i've ever spoken to on youtube to actually know what my login name means.
no doubt Obama has built an excellent ground game through out the last year, but the Republicans, ever since 2000 have had an excellent grassroots network. To say John McCain "has nothing" is pretty naive. Obama may have a slight advantage in ground work, but nothing major over McCain.
Just because McCain didn't have to campaign in some late primaries, doesn't mean he doesn't have ground work set up there.
Obama told AIPAC that Jerusalem "must remain undivided;" but when Palestinian Authority President Abbas complained, Obama changed his mind. Now, Obama says that the status of Jerusalem is something for the "parties to negotiate."
I don't know which is more remarkable, Obama's flip flop based on input from Palestinians or that this story only made page A6 of the June 6 Washington Post.
As an aside, why is it only okay to say Hillary's middle name?
Team McCain: Great use of the web to fire up the GOP and independent base. You've actually got me thinking positive about the GOP's chances for a change.
Well the free market principles of McCain's economic advisors have been proven wrong, time and time again. McCain economic advisor, the ex-senator Phil Gramm pushed for deregulation of the S&L industry and the result was the S&L crisis. He then pushed for deregulation of the energy industry and the result was Enron and the rolling blackouts in California.
Gramm then pushed for deregulation of the financial institution and the result was the current mortgage meltdown. McCain recently voted against closing the Enron loophole. We need intelligent regulation and a fair playing field, not disastrous economic policies.
Rick Davis and John McCain, please stop using the strategy of attacking the present administration as it is the party you belong to. You are running against Obama NOT George Bush.
It is getting disgusting and then add in how you have totally ignored the conservatives. I guess it is pretty clear you want to turn our Republican party into more rinos' which we do not need.
When was this information gathered? Most likely, before Clinton dropped out of the running. Her votes are a lot more likely to go to Obama and throw all of these numbers off completely.
Let's hear a conservative ideal or two and maybe I will again donate to a republican cause. But as long as McCain and those republicans like him keep kissing liberals asses, and pushing through socialist programs they can fund themselves.
At first I thought this was a parody. Ninety percent of what's left of the GOP "base" is pathetically small. You already blew it when you nominated an angry old man with a track record of demolishing civil liberties, spending for big government, and war mongering.
At least we can spell censored. I see you spelled fascist correctly. Remember what your boy McCain said "We must get bottled hot water to dehydrated babies."
I really like McCain but there is no way in hell I am going to vote for a GOP. And I know several people in the same situation so the favorability number is really meaningless.
As everyone with half a brain knows, John McCain is not George Bush. You cannot distort Senator McCain's record, nor can you attribute one on your comments to Senator McCain. He is and will always be a hero and certainly much more qualified that the other candidate. If you represent Senator Obama's following, he has a lot to worry about in the general election. See you in November pal.
Maybe you aren't racist (can't really determine that from your post) but what I can tell, is you are a complete moron. First, The third Bush term is a load of bull, and as accurate as saying Obama is a second Carter term, probably less so.
Secondly, Obama himself has a portion of voters that have voted for him solely on race, and I can let you know, just by looking at the numbers, not all of them are non-white. It's a phenomena called "White Guilt".
Strategy and McCain....joke! Lieberman..king of jews in white house! Polls are stacked everyone knows that..bad strategy! fear talk...bad strategy! Surge is working(not)..bad strategy! Even Rupport Murdoch(neocon)says Obama wins by landslide! So we're tired of hearing this tired propaganda! Ron Paul could win this kind of election! He has the experience and the change factor! and a fierce debater because he is like the school master in Congress! Republicans are in nowhereland now!!!
idk why, not to be rude but i dont think someone who doesn't know how to spell one of the candidates names isn't up for the task of making a judgment on who is or isn't qualified for the job of the presidency.
most clintonites will turn to obama. voter registration campaigns will increase democrat vote even in solid red states. also, obama has a magnetic personality that will win over old gaffe prone mccain.
with the economy going down and the gas price going up, the gop is doomed!
that's true the obama channel censors any comments they don't like..bunch of bitches...that alone would make me want to vote mccain over their pathetic attempts at censorship
Wait?!? Tell me again, why would any Republican Delegate vote for a liberal democrat warmonger that has no handle on economics at the RNC in Sept? McCain has no chance against Ron Paul at the Convention.
I come from a proud military family and we are all supporting McCain 100% and have each personally donated to his campaign. I urge all of you to do the same. Surrendering to the war against radical Islam is something we can not afford to do. I hear liberals say we are going "broke" fighting the war in Iraq, but they fail to realize thanks to the efforts from our military and the courage and leadership of President Bush our nation has stayed safe and secure these past 7 years.
By the way, I am in no way racist and would be all in favor of having a black or female president. What I disagree with are Obama's views on certain key issues, and therefore I cannot support him. Now if Condoleezza Rice were to run (and I wish she had), I'd fully support her 100%. There are plenty of issues that I disagree with John McCain on, and he was never my first pick. But I'll take him over Obama.
It seems straight-forward and convincing, but remember that data can often be skewed to support the conclusion you want to be true. My gut still tells me that the country is overall ready for a Democratic president and that Obama will win in November. That said, McCain does seem to have a pretty good chance even in face of that, which is truly remarkable for a GOP candidate in the current political atmosphere.
Historically, anytime one major political party has screwed up big while in office, the other party has always won the following election. However, there's a first for everything, and McCain seems to have a different flavor of Republicanism from what we've seen in the past. I hope it'll be enough to win him the November election.
He is going to spend billions of dollars we don't have on a war in Iraq which shouldn't have been waged in the first place, while there is recession going on in our country. Further more he doesn't mind the fact veterans sleep on the streets. He also is lousy in economics and his health care plan isnt too good either.
Great video. People just read headlines and think the race is over. A closer look at the situation shows the situation is not a good one at all for Obama and the Democrat Party.
Interesting video, but a bit boring. I live in Pennsylvania, and many are hesitant concerning Senator McCain. Senator Clinton has been strongly supported here, and I'm a Huckabee supporter still. I had the chance to talk to two WW2 veterans-both said they supported Senator Clinton. Senator McCain has sterling military credentials-which I do like and respect, and does somewhat reflect my view. I'm interested in a fresh view of things, and more on our homeland instead of everywhere else.
Many I talk with are not trusting of Obama, my being one of them. Many of the Unions here are behind Obama. I think it is because he is a globalist, and I hear the unions are intested in going 'global' all of a sudden. I cannot imagine why. (Since they are probably being 'busted' in part by illegal immigration.) I noticed that this video was in english after a long series that were in spanish. Funny, this is about strategy and money. The only candidate I sent money to ever was Mike Huckabee.
I also like and respect Senator Lieberman as well. I value his opinion, even though I don't agree with some of his views.
I don't like also how Rev. Hagee was bullied into changing his mind on his endorsement. I don't agree with many of his views, but he has the American right to speak them and endorse who he views to be right.
To be bullied into silence is not what America - U.S.A. - is all about.
When McCain selected Palin, he showed that he has no principles.

ss11s 3 years ago
no doubt Obama has built an excellent ground game through out the last year, but the Republicans, ever since 2000 have had an excellent grassroots network. To say John McCain "has nothing" is pretty naive. Obama may have a slight advantage in ground work, but nothing major over McCain.
Just because McCain didn't have to campaign in some late primaries, doesn't mean he doesn't have ground work set up there.

Ok. WTF?
"John McCain may be one of the most resilient candidates imaginable."
Unless he dies first from the thousands of health problems he has. What if he has a heart attack in the middle of a high stakes situation?
That would suck.
Still my prediction is McCain will win and take Hillary as vice.

Well the free market principles of McCain's economic advisors have been proven wrong, time and time again. McCain economic advisor, the ex-senator Phil Gramm pushed for deregulation of the S&L industry and the result was the S&L crisis. He then pushed for deregulation of the energy industry and the result was Enron and the rolling blackouts in California.
bynddrvn5 3 years ago
Gramm then pushed for deregulation of the financial institution and the result was the current mortgage meltdown. McCain recently voted against closing the Enron loophole. We need intelligent regulation and a fair playing field, not disastrous economic policies.
bynddrvn5 3 years ago 2
Rick Davis and John McCain, please stop using the strategy of attacking the present administration as it is the party you belong to. You are running against Obama NOT George Bush.
It is getting disgusting and then add in how you have totally ignored the conservatives. I guess it is pretty clear you want to turn our Republican party into more rinos' which we do not need.

At first I thought this was a parody. Ninety percent of what's left of the GOP "base" is pathetically small. You already blew it when you nominated an angry old man with a track record of demolishing civil liberties, spending for big government, and war mongering.

Don't make the same mistake our country did twice, Obama 2008!

He's Muslim, big whoop!
Just because some Muslim people are terrorists doesn't mean a whole culture is bad!
Obama is an American Citizen!
Vote for change, change we can believe in!
LPfanatic321 3 years ago

I come from a proud military family and we are all supporting McCain 100% and have each personally donated to his campaign. I urge all of you to do the same. Surrendering to the war against radical Islam is something we can not afford to do. I hear liberals say we are going "broke" fighting the war in Iraq, but they fail to realize thanks to the efforts from our military and the courage and leadership of President Bush our nation has stayed safe and secure these past 7 years.
texasgurl1986 3 years ago
By the way, I am in no way racist and would be all in favor of having a black or female president. What I disagree with are Obama's views on certain key issues, and therefore I cannot support him. Now if Condoleezza Rice were to run (and I wish she had), I'd fully support her 100%. There are plenty of issues that I disagree with John McCain on, and he was never my first pick. But I'll take him over Obama.
theup3985 3 years ago
McCain is going to loose, no one wants this old fossil in the white house and the guys basically a third term of Bush.
Ryu1292 3 years ago
It seems straight-forward and convincing, but remember that data can often be skewed to support the conclusion you want to be true. My gut still tells me that the country is overall ready for a Democratic president and that Obama will win in November. That said, McCain does seem to have a pretty good chance even in face of that, which is truly remarkable for a GOP candidate in the current political atmosphere.
theup3985 3 years ago
Historically, anytime one major political party has screwed up big while in office, the other party has always won the following election. However, there's a first for everything, and McCain seems to have a different flavor of Republicanism from what we've seen in the past. I hope it'll be enough to win him the November election.
theup3985 3 years ago
oh and he's also taking money from the two biggest lobbyist in Washington.. thats another reason why we should vote for McCain..

Yeah vote McCain..
He is going to spend billions of dollars we don't have on a war in Iraq which shouldn't have been waged in the first place, while there is recession going on in our country. Further more he doesn't mind the fact veterans sleep on the streets. He also is lousy in economics and his health care plan isnt too good either.
so yup lets vote McCain baby

Interesting video, but a bit boring. I live in Pennsylvania, and many are hesitant concerning Senator McCain. Senator Clinton has been strongly supported here, and I'm a Huckabee supporter still. I had the chance to talk to two WW2 veterans-both said they supported Senator Clinton. Senator McCain has sterling military credentials-which I do like and respect, and does somewhat reflect my view. I'm interested in a fresh view of things, and more on our homeland instead of everywhere else.
magie19475 3 years ago
Many I talk with are not trusting of Obama, my being one of them. Many of the Unions here are behind Obama. I think it is because he is a globalist, and I hear the unions are intested in going 'global' all of a sudden. I cannot imagine why. (Since they are probably being 'busted' in part by illegal immigration.) I noticed that this video was in english after a long series that were in spanish. Funny, this is about strategy and money. The only candidate I sent money to ever was Mike Huckabee.
magie19475 3 years ago
I also like and respect Senator Lieberman as well. I value his opinion, even though I don't agree with some of his views.
I don't like also how Rev. Hagee was bullied into changing his mind on his endorsement. I don't agree with many of his views, but he has the American right to speak them and endorse who he views to be right.
To be bullied into silence is not what America - U.S.A. - is all about.
