There have been sucess stories in the War on Terror such as Colombias 40 year fight with FARC. In the 1990s FARC held 50% of Colombia. Now it holds less than 2%. LTTE was a war that started in the mid '80s and now LTTE is broken. Both FARC and LTTE had more men and better weapons than the Taliban. FARC got their money through drugs and thrives in the porous border of Colombia. The Iraqi government is fully running Iraq. Remember the Allies were losing the war in WWII till about 1943.

End all govt. retirement pensions (the only ones afforded for in the constitution is for the military)
this will in itself cause the Govt to shrink.
End all frivolous unnecessary Govt jobs and
pay the remaining at rates commensurate with private sector, but without retirement.
That will fix it.

There have been sucess stories in the War on Terror such as Colombias 40 year fight with FARC. In the 1990s FARC held 50% of Colombia. Now it holds less than 2%. LTTE was a war that started in the mid '80s and now LTTE is broken. Both FARC and LTTE had more men and better weapons than the Taliban. FARC got their money through drugs and thrives in the porous border of Colombia. The Iraqi government is fully running Iraq. Remember the Allies were losing the war in WWII till about 1943.

cost is tiny in comparison to the looming costs of medicare medicaid and social security. 53 trillion dollars in obligations. The war in Afghanistan is horrible but the cost is a very weak argument. I don't like the films these guys make they are always biased and mediocre.

Thats kinda funny considering my buddy's father is being deployed next summer. The war hasnt made us safer? Last time i checked, we have not been attacked since 9/11. "9/11, whats that?" Has everybody forgotten that we were attacked 8 years ago! I was in the military when the Embassies in Africa were attacked. Afterwards we began anti-terrorism practice exercises routinely.
The USS Cole's commander directly violated our rules when his ship was attacked.
After Bush took office all practice manuvers STOPPED. We never got new training orders.
911 didnt suprise any of us.
Bush was not paying attention!
911 never should have happened.
These wars didnot need to happen.

Once again, back to the same statement I've made many times.
Afghanistan is like....DAMMM if we stay in the war and DARN if we pull out.
If we stay in the war, some citizens of this country (USA) will protest that President Obama is sending our troops to their death plus many more ppl will die.
If we pull out our troop, some citizens will protest that President Obama is not protecting this country from terrorists. Especially those families with victim in 9/11.
