Great movie..... I have seen minimum 5 times.... I came here to pick up the smell a bit from the trailer...

Cypher is really one of the greatest movies, don't be surprised if not everybody actually knows the movie. Kind a hidden movie isn't it?

Of course because it paints a picture of great many things and probably makes a pain in the ass of many people with revealing the concept of we might be surrounded by aims or even people we are mistaken about their id or aims....

Now the reason why people are confused about the story is because you have to know this:

Neither DigiCorp nor Sunways know that he is Sebastian Rooks. In fact, he doesn't even know himself until the very end of the movie! That's the coolest thing about it. :D

In short, he is a triple agent. It's like you would work for a shadow organisation, but pretend that you work as double-agent for CIA and KGB, for example. But you work against both of them. Tricky, isn't it. :)

Since the trailer spoils the movie anyway and since people watching the movie are confused, let me explain what this spy thriller is really about...

First off, the background story:

Sebastian Rooks is a top-secret agent whose identity is unknown to both, DigiCorp and Sunways Systems. His mission: Get access into the secret underground vault and erase certain data which could reveal the identity of his partner and girl-friend (Lucy Liu). The blue disk includes a secret virus (trojan) which seeks and erases the data once inserted into the vault's cd drive.

And now the tricky part:

Rooks brainwashes himself and creates a fake indentity, Morgan Sullivan, a man working as a freelancer married to a fake wife. This is done for two reasons. First, to pass the lie detector test in DigiCorp and second, to forget that he has a girl-friend who monitors the operation for him in the background, without him knowing it actually! He meets her in the bar, remember? But he doesn't know that she is his girl-friend.

Ok, now it gets trickier:

During a company presentation his girl-friend (and always remember, he doesn't know she's his gf, he thinks she's just a woman he has fallen in love with) helps him get rid of the brainwashing done by DigiCorp, so he can continue to pretend to them that he's Jack Thursby. Then she tells him to exchange the blue disk when he works as double-agent for Sunways.

And that's it. He gets into the vault and the infected blue disk does the rest.

first I want to say i enjoyed the film but the ending confused me. I have a question for all those who have already watched and understood the ending.......because i don't !!!! [spoiler]Shouldn't the disk in the end be containing trash because SUNWAYS prepared some crap to mislead/damage digicorp....?? the guy from the underground vault even said digicorp will be ......."after they see what we cooked for them"???!!! so it means what he downloaded to the blue disk is either useless or damaging??
