@nastyboyr the basic one, without the CUP package is 20K euros, CUP package is 2.500 euros extra (the ride is too hard for where I live at), or premium package (heated leather seats with memory function, special rims, hands free etc.) is 2500 euros too, but the standard one would do just fine, cause it has lots of stuff that you would pay extra at VW or else. I would maybe put leather recaros as extra.

Maybe not on 0-100 time or quarter mile, but on race tracks, it is, since ESP can't be disabled and the car always works with pretty aggressive brake-adjustments to "simulate" a limited-slip differential. The R *could* be fast (the "Rothe" Golf R proves that), but that requires much modifications. Same with the GTI. The chassis and the power transmission isn't just that good as in the RS.
