just when i thought cook may've been a weakness for england he then puts on a credible 67 and then the monster 235*, i expected great performances/resistance from strauss this series but if australia struggle with cook then they got no chance of winning the ashes!

@1994dixie in all honesty treated pitches and heavy bats make 50 the new 40 and if he is to be thought true world clas 50 is the minimum requirement for his average. That said what a stellar Ashes and i am a fan of Cook.

Generally under-rated as a batsman, he's showing that in the Ashes at the moment, when others faulter he's still scoring runs and then when he's on form there's no-one like him.
