Life isn't complete until you've taken a ride in a Grumman Goose.
This vid reminds me of when I was in the Coast Guard, flying as nav in the old 1600 and 1700 series HC-130s out of Sacramento, and being deployed to Kodiak for fisheries patrols. Good ol' days. I miss 'em...
When I was in Atka back in 1996 waiting for a couple of my aunt's to come in on the Grumman Goose aircraft that they were on I heard that the pilot Nick of that Grumman Goose aircraft that crashed had epileptic seizures and that could have very well been the cause of that aircraft losing control and crashing wherever it was that it crashed at.
I do not have the facts of the case and would not venture to second guess the matter. The main thing is that a young pilot was lost, to his family, to aviation, and to the world. RIP Nic Sias.
And to think, the pilot gets paid to do this every day !!!!! Only in Alaska do you find a 50+ yr old plane still earning its keep. I love it. Got anymore videos?
