  • ENGINE CANADA , TRANSMISSION MEXICO/KOREA STILL NOT AMERICAN MADE..

  • the 2009-present Chevrolet Equinox is assembled in

    Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada

    Oshawa, Ontario, Canada

  • MotorWeek is the same age as Entertainment Tonight. Congratulations on 30 seasons and still going strong.

  • lol bladderbusting

  • Great to see John still hosting this show after 23 years. He has been doing these since the late 1980s.

  • Any chance of reviewing the 2011 Chevy Equinox?

  • Why is he standing in front of a Traverse!

  • i love the looks of this car. but it's the weight that bothers me. it has the weight of a jeep grand cherokee with v6 awd :(

  • it does have ambient lighting blue

  • LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, and didn't I mention LOVE!!!

  • Way to pass off the Traverse as the Equinox in that opening shot...

  • Does it have ambient lighting?

  • It is Chevy TRAVERSE ! Not Equinox ...

  • seems like GM is starting to get it together. Hopefully these hit it with the yuppy crowd. They usually drive imports.

  • The only reason to buy this truck is for the mileage. If I can get one for $18,500 I'll buy one, otherwise I'll choose either the Honda or Toyota...

  • I want one with a RWD V8

  • I've probably said it a thousand times.....American car companies can do it better than anybody. It just took a big scare and a wakeup call to make it happen again. GM, Ford, Chrysler...all of them...have long had the technology to kill the competition in engineering and design. Too bad they allowed complacency to prevail for so long, but now that they've buckled down the future looks much better.

  • does the 2.4l come with a trailer equitment

  • @jnsleeper1

No...But you can add it yourself. If you want trailering from the factory, it requires the V6 upgrade (which requires the 18" wheel upgrade as well..but well worth it)

  • @grometsc k thanks i want the 2.4l 4 cyclinder because am going to pull a quad and really dont want a v6

  • Awesome car, look out honda, look out toyota, look out FORD

  • I been watching alot of motorweek vids, and he gets older and older lol. MW is tight.

  • is it just me or does the new Equinox look more like a mid-size rather than a compact?

  • I really like this and to tell the truth i like this better than the cadillac srx and gmc terrain.....wats wit all these newer MOTORS IN CARS TODAY...u have to rev the hell out of them to get the HOGS TO MOVE....thats the only negative i have with todays cars....i dont care how fast it gets to 60-100 when i got to the mountains that dont matter POWER DO... TORQUE IS THE KEY and horsepower next...

  • Well a decent car, but why would a buy this when I can get a XLT 4WD Ford Escape with a V6 and 240hp for nearly the same price!

  • You have to look at more then the price. What will last? What has the better warranty? Chvey has the 100,000 mile warranty, Ford has a 60,000 mile one, Ford don't get as good MPG or have as much room.

  • what is nicer/better; the Equinox or the GMC Terrain?

  • 182hp for a 4-cylinder is impressive! My uncle's S-10 is only 120 horsepower 4-cylinder. Weird how horsepower can change like that.

  • Your S10 is VERY old though...New technology has come into play, and GM was getting 190hp out of a n/a 4cyl in the early 1990's (Olds W41 Quad 4)....But power went back dowin the late 90's with the Twin Cam, but GM has always had 4cyl's in the 150-180hp range

  • At first I was like wtf?? that's a traverse at the beginning.

  • this is probably the nicest small-suv on the road today.

  • Good looks, Good fuel economy, good styling, good powertrain, and all those options on the LTZ for only $28,000?! wow thats a big step in the right direction for chevrolet!

  • @noopsky13 GM has finally started building real cars again. Good job Obama for fireing Rick Wagoner!

  • @noopsky13 now its only reliability. if they want this to sell more than japanesse brands its needs to last without constant repares

  • First

    On

    Race

    Day

  • seems surprisingly good!!

  • the styling is definetly a plus considering the old equinox

  • I like this one!!!

  • The difference between the first-generation model and this one is like night and day.

  • Even when GM tries to do something good people still bash them. The Ecotec is the engine Gm needed to produce for years but didn't they are quiet low maintence no timing belt to change and have proven reliable. The new equinox is a step in the right direction as gm actually tries to build a decent interior and modernize their products. Take that from someone who drives his grandmothers 1989 Pontiac 6000 with the 2.5 iron duke that has 180000 miles on it now still runs great everything works!

  • @coandcaiv Ya, you're right. That's precisely why it's on ward's ten best engines list.

  • if GM was smart they would put a turbocharger on the 4 cylinder, it would make more power than the V-6 easily and would still get better miles to the gallon.....

  • I could see it happening if it could run on regular, and not premium like the Ecotec in the SS Cobalt.

  • It can happen on regular, with the ecu on these newer cars it pull the timing if from engine to prevent detonation

  • You people dont read do you. MANY 6-speed automatics drive just like that. Dont know how to make up their mind. Happens in my mom's Mercury Mariner. As for rough noise and acceleration, have you personally driven one? The 4 cyl is very quiet, and acceleration is quite good. How fast do you expect it to get to 60?? 5 seconds?? Its a 4 CYLINDER!!
