  • Looks like alot of fun living in the middle of nowhere. Having grown up in NY and moved to Atlanta, I commend you all on not going insane and eating eachother. (Said with every bit of humor in my body) ;)

  • Comment removed

  • BYU fan through and through.. True Blue. UVU we'll beat you over and over get over it.

  • Never been commented in rhyme before...always a first I guess.

  • @neilhiattcomedy I'm not commenting on rhyme I'm just saying that it's so rude to make fun of BYU students, and BYU fans

  • @Fansailormoon I got that. But I was making fun of how an adult used a rhyme to get their point across. Look, I'm sorry if you think I am being rude. I don't think it's rude at all. It's a satire on how SOME students act and a social comment on the hypocrisy of calling UVU a high school when some BYU students act like high schoolers. The people who recorded the act and most of the people who attended were from BYU and they didn't mind. Heck, my wife went to BYU. You have to realize it is a joke.

  • I go to UVU not because it was easy to get into but because I choose to, I am a Utes fan that lives in utah county and have no desire to live in SLC but I dont want to go to a school I dont suppourt. I also am LDS dont get me wrong BYU is a great school just not where I want to go. Its also retarded how strict BYU's rules are there holding a buddy of mines degree temporarily because he doesnt live in BYU approved housing sorry BYU he took what was cheap in this current economic downturn

  • ha ha ha ha ha great stuff made me laugh like hell.

  • Yes I so agree man

  • Lol, this is funny. It's funny because he is making fun of BYU in a lighthearted joking manner. He isn't filling it full of hatred. He's just taking the typical stereotype and having fun with it. I'm a huge BYU fan (was never a student though) and I laughed. There actually are people like the ones he described-and I can't stand the students like that. But there are also many that are nice and normal and not uptight. Most of us don't *really* believe the Lord favors it over all other school

  • THANK YOU! Thank you for getting the JOKE! Too many people take this WAY too seriously.

  • No problem :) I know a good joke when I hear it. Especially a good BYU vs. UVU joke or BYU vs. Utah joke-even if its about BYU :) A guy at ComedySportz always insults UVU and its pretty funny. As long as the jokes are all in good taste and in fun, I quite enjoy the banter :)

  • Exactly, it's all about intent.

  • i'm an active LDS member and I really can't stand the typical BYU student. Good video.

  • BYU is not the Lords School.

  • Yes, it is.

  • Well it was where the lord got his masters degree but he then was "translated" to Harvard for his doctorate...

  • no, it's not god's way

  • That's true, he did go to a state college for a while to get his GPA up to GO to BYU and since he was in state it was harder to get in. But he had a really good ecclesiastical endorsement so they let him in and then he was accepted to Harvard where he studied theology...

  • also...it's a joke, so no need to get panties in a twist.

  • what about U of U

  • They were beaten by BYU recently...good game.

  • BYU > UVU. No comparison. Let's all put this away and go to sleep now. Thanks.

  • Aww...and so close after conference weekend. Did we not learn anything about loving our fellow man?

  • And actually there is a comparison. We have some programs that you don't offer and some that you do that we excell in and vice versa...but I digress.

  • @neilhiattcomedy, Nope that's why they hear the same things every conference. Nice video; totally true.

  • @TexMexCoug

Hey thank you for making comments about UVU. I thought they weren't on the map yet but oh well at least u mention them. BYU and Utah comparison.

  • @TexMexCoug

Well actually there is a comparison UVU has more students than BYU and UVU is so close to BYU so there will be comparison's made.

  • I love it!! I go to BYU and totally agree with you.

  • The sad thing is it's you starting this with this video. Reality is anybody off the street can get into UVU. This cannot be refuted. Their admission is a joke. Obviously this is a touchy subject for you. Good luck Utah Valley High.

  • Once again, you prove my point. It's the people like you that make this joke possible. When I tell this joke and people laugh and say, "I know that guy." They are talking specifically about you.

  • And what does admissions have to do with good education? The geology department at my school is WAY more advanced than the one at BYU...hmmm odd. Not to mention that If I am married to a BYU student I get into BYU automatically and if I am a Utah resident it's way easier to get in than if I was from say...Texas. So Admissions does not = quality. Also you have yet to prove that everybody who goes to UVU is only there because they couldn't get in to you school.

  • It's actually harder for in-state people to get in. But yeah. TexMexCoug is like the textbook definition of what a lot of people have in their mind for "BYU student".

  • Ha, I like the cut of your Jib.

  • Gross generalization, but nice try. I'll be sure to say hi next time you're bagging my groceries. Didn't study in high school? UVU is for you! I go to U of U, but I've partied with enough UVU students to know what's up, and it's not their IQs. But I dig some of those nasty girls down there. Just remember to always wear a condom.

  • Ha! It's funny that while blaming me for making a "Gross generalization" you make several yourself/ And you know what I have been thinking of volunteering at the homeless shelter and I would be more than happy to bag your groceries for you when you stop by there to get your free soup and condom. Also, I talked with a councelor a couple of days ago and they said all I need to transfer to your school was a 2.0 which is a D+ average...so yeah pots should not call kettles black.

  • Hey you get it! I was just trying out some lame comedy of my own. My schtick is to put others down to inflate my own miniscule sense of self-worth. I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but it works.

  • BYU is amazing! Sorry if you can't in

  • WOW! It's funny that you are a BYU student but you forgot a simple verb like "get" from your sentence making "get in" your phrasal verb...also you're not supposed to end a sentence with a preposition. And the funny thing is to get into a school you have to actually want to apply to said school (and considering that BYU doesn't have a flight school I didn't apply).

I'm super stoked that your high priced education is paying off; not to mention your over inflated sense of self worth.

  • Everyone knows BYU is better than UVU and that UVU is where you go when you can't get into BYU.

  • Ha, Ha, okay...prove it.

  • fuck byu.

  • Whoa! Ha Ha, thanks for your enthusiasm but let's keep it civil. :-)

  • I'm not asking you to trust me. I'm just stating my opinion. I never said the jokes weren't funny, I think they are. I was just saying that I haven't seen it and I'm not one of those people who thinks it's true. I hope I don't experience it.

  • I've been going to UVU for a while and lived in Utah County my whole life and I don't really find these jokes to be true. I've met a lot of people who go to both schools and have friends who go to both and I haven't really seen a difference. And most of the time when you think that someone else thinks they're better than you it's in your own head.

  • They must not be true...because when people who go to BYU (who were the main core of the audience) laughed and came up after the show, the first thing they said to me was, "That's so true, you nailed it on the head." But I should trust you...the guy who doesn't go to BYU and believes that because you don't experience it doesn't exist.

  • All I have to say is... GO UTES!!!

  • The problem is that BYU and UVSC are so close together and both have thousands of students so comparisons will be made.

Also BYU is a hard school to get into where it seems anybody off the street gets into UVSC.

  • Very good points, and BYU is a very good school. UVU also has one of the top flight and nursing in the nation as well. But...just because one is "harder" to get into (if you are married to a person who goes to BYU you get an automatic in) that doesn't give cause for one to be belligerent to another person just because their school is easier to get into...not very Christ like for a private Christian school to turn out students who feel they are better than their fellow man (Some not all).

  • BYU is only hard to get into if you are from Utah. It's not that hard of a school to get into and not as acredited as one would think.

  • what a jurk.

  • Ha, okay...Jerk has an "e" in it.

  • dude you are freakin awesome! that's so freakin true, too haha

  • Thank you

  • I was planning on studying my whole undergraduate at BYU.. but after just 1 semester, I couldn't handle it anymore. No, of course I'm not a mormon.

  • sounds like someone's bitter

  • how can you say there are only 2 colleges in utah?- You should change the video info. We might as well say thet there is only one college in Utah and it's UofU.

    BLEED RED!!!

  • Sorry "Penguinwaiter" I meant two colleges in Utah Valley I will change the info accordingly. Go Utes!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

EAT YOUR HEARTS OUT byu FANS

    UTAH 13-0 BCS CRUSHERS

    CRUSHED byu and DESTROYED ALABAMA

    UTES # 1

EAT YOUR HEARTS OUT byu FANS

  • Couldn't have said it better myself. Thanks for your comments

  • Fact 1, More BYU students have mommy and daddy pay for most or all of their school then UVU students. Fact 2, BYU students are filled with a holier than thou attitude even though they are no different then any other LDS member in the world. Fact 3, LDS-UVU students have served as many missions and hold as many church callings as BYU students. Going to BYU does not make you better and you are an idiot if you think your BYU status is respected in the workforce or community.

  • Couldn't agree more. But there are some awesome BYU students.

  • I agree but it's thoughs who use BYU as a status symbol that stick out like soar thumbs.

  • I meant those, woops :)

  • I graduated from BYU and I paid for it myself by working. What does UVU stand for?

  • Then I say congrats. You are one of a few. What does UVU stand for? What kind of a question is that?

  • I really don't know - is is University of Utah, Utah State, Souther Utah University. Weber State? Which one is it - what does UVU stand for? Is it Utah Valley University??

  • Yeah it's Utah Valley University.

  • Any body with a part time job can pay for BYU. BYU is the best deal in the country for a private school and many public schools as well!

  • Well then good for you but that still doesn't explain the holier than thou attitude.

  • Your insane. Show me where I spoke about religion. More like it does not explain your irrational atti-Mormon attitude. I think the problem resides there. Still didn't tell me the name of the University. I bet you don't even know!

  • Anti-mormon??? I am LDS you nut. Served a mission ect, ect ect. UVU is Utah Valley University. I go there. If you don't live in Utah Valley and or have not been on the other side of the lds/byu valley culture that prides itself on a higher level of self proclaimed spirituality then I don't expect you to understand. I didn't say you spoke on religion. I am the one who brought it up. Love my religion but am not so partial on how some BYU alum treat others who don't go to their school is all.

  • I think that is all in your mind. How about the way people treat people who go to BYU. "You went to BYU? Are you Mormon, don't you believe in polygamy and multiple Gods" or "You went to BYU because you had to right" etc. etc.

  • You are talking about non-members judgeing you based on your college. I am talking about members judgeing other members for not being apart of their alumni. The fact is that there are some BYU alum that are of the opinion that they are of a higher calibur of mormon for having gone to BYU. So funny to see a a culture of LDS judge another that way. Aren't we all LDS? Could fool me from having lived her in Utah Valley for some years. Sad but true.

  • Really, I never thought that way. I was always too busy fight for my life to finish school and hardly left campus (I had no car). I know Mormons that that went to college in many different Universities. I just wanted to get away from the public school system.

  • It's all good man. You sound like a good guy. As for Utah Valley culture and the whole higher calibur of spiritualism thing for going to BYU I think that would make a funny documentary. I believe you when you said you worked hard and paved your own way. I for one love my religion as I said but am sadened to have to live in this culture that only seems to exist here in Utah Valley.

  • You cannot generalize all BYU students into the few people you know that go to BYU. I can say all Utah students are alcoholics. It's just as true as saying BYU students are all "holier-than-thou."

    You're an idiot.

  • But to condemn one generalization and then make a generalization like "You're an idiot" just because he holds an opinion different from yours is just as wrong. It's a joke, the only reason I can see anyone getting mad is that it rings true to some degree. And I am sorry to break it to you but the "all Utah students are alcoholics" is a generalization thrown around at BYU...it's not like you pulled that one out of your hat.

  • How is it a generalization to say that one person is an idiot? He has an opinion, yes, but it is also a generalization. Me saying he's an idiot is not a generalization and it also an opinion. So why are you criticizing me for having an opinion what that is your argument for what I wrote?

I am simply trying to point out that generalizations are stupid no matter who says them. Is the generalization about Utah correct? No, absolutely not. I never said it was unique either.

  • You're wrong here. He called you an idiot for accusing an entire campus of almost 35,000 students of being holier-than-thou snobs. To make such a rash generalization IS idiocy. And I can tell from how passionately you argue it that this is far beyond a simple joke to you. So quit crying yourself to sleep over this Utah county shit every night and get a life.

  • So your generalizations are okay? I quote "didn't do well in high school, try UVU" So that's not rash generalization? Not to mention again that your school is just as easy to get into. And should I get a life of say...trolling internet videos late at night to find things to argue about like you do? And seeing that my girlfriend is a BYU graduate I obviously don't actually think that all 35,000 students are that way...so there's the refute there.

  • Nope. You're an idiot. Looks like BYU didn't make you a nicer person either.

  • I didn't go to BYU, so you're the idiot.

  • Name Calling is the attempt to distract the uninformed observer off the message by attacking the messenger .

  • I didn't go to BYU, so the ball's in your court loser.

  • I didn't go there either so calm down.

  • That's odd that he says he didn't go there because his whole page is about BYU volleyball...

  • I get so sick of this attitude. I've never gone to BYU but have gone to UVU for a few years now and lived in Utah County my whole life. I've seen hardly any difference between students from either school. I hate when people call other people "holier than thou". Because in most cases it isn't true and is in your own head. I also hate "Molly Mormon" "Peter Priesthood" "Goody Goody" and especially "self righteous". I don't know anybody who are those things.

  • Wait...so because you haven't seen it, it doesn't exist?

  • Usually when you are the only one looking around going, I don't see anyone like that here...the chances are high that you are the one we are laughing at.

  • I'm far from one of those people. I used to be one of the people making fun of those people in high school. But then I realized I was an idiot and that the people we were calling self-righteous were actually just more righteous than I was. I called them that because of my own pride. I realized the guy in seminary answering all the questions wasn't doing it to impress people. He didn't think he was better than me. I had to project that flaw on to him to make me feel better.

  • Well you got the idiot part right. Now we just have to work on that sense of humor. If I cover my eyes and ears then all the bad things go away. And of course you would say that you aren't the one who we are talking about. That's why you commented on this board in the first place right? You didn't want to place your opinion like we asked for it, and once again I will refer you to the people who actually go to BYU who agree with me rather than listen to you.

  • I apologize Neil. I just talked to the people at BYU you refered me to and they straightened me out. You were right.

  • Hmmm... don't remember refering you to anyone but I am suprised you could see them seeing that they "don't exist."

  • I'm saying that I see the same things you do but I don't see them the same way. At least I try not to. I'll admit that when a deacon in my ward told me I shouldn't watch the Simpsons a couple months ago it bothered me. Instead of thinking whether he was right or not I started thinking whether or not he had the right to say that to me. I could have easily come away from that thinking he had a "holier than thou" attitude. And I did for a little while. But I realize he's just a really good kid.

  • Watching or not watching something does not make one better than the other, especially since rating systems have little to do with morality and more to do with getting people to watch something (I know this because I am a film major)

  • Also, Watching or not watching something does not make one better than the other, especially since rating systems have little to do with morality and more to do with getting people to watch something (I know this because I am a film major) And I actually did a dissection of morality and TV using episodes of the simpsons as a references for how even though they are a dysfunctional family they love each other unconditionally and are genuinely sorry when they are wrong.

  • As Matthew said "...when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." So touting on a high horse seems a little opposite of that I guess.

  • I am act. a BYU student, but don't hold that against me. :-)

That was a perfect impression, and hilarious. That kind of thing is the exact reason why I get embarassed sometimes to say I go to BYU. Love the education, but not the social aspect.

  • hey i was there. that neil deal is pretty funny
