hey @tableturns77 if you can't use spell check you probably shouldn't express you're closed minded opion, have fun where you're going, don't forget to pack some ice water!
@Gaaminator Lol. Did God planned the food? Or the poop that they would have to clean? And animals survive according to their climate, did God planned snow and desert climate inside the Ark? Did the lions behaved nicely ? What a bunch of lunacy.
@lovemrdarcy well enough to make them all survive 40 days wouldnt have been too difficult. The poop could all go over board into the ocean. climate wouldnt have been a problem if they were only there for 40 days. If we can have every animal in long term captivity surely god and Noah couldve. Lions did behave nicely :D
@Gaaminator Anything is possible when you believe in imaginary superpowers. My toddler knows that better than anyone. Now, what amazes me is a grown up bending physics and science to explain a fantasy. Ever been to a zoo? There is a reason why the animals are kept in specific environment built especially for them. And no, 40 days would be enough to kill many of them of heat or cold. Now, what is even more amazing is that you do not even know your Bible. The flood lasted over a YEAR!! LOL.
@lovemrdarcy Well its a better theory than to say all animals came from pond scume and turned into extremely advanced cells and organism and into people by a random and unguided process over millions and billions of years for no reason....
By the way they actually found Noahs ark on the mountains of ararat. Its the exact proportions. look up Proof of Noahs Ark on youtube youll find alot of evidence for it. Evidence hard to refute.
@Gaaminator It's not a theory, it's a fable. And the way you change the discussion says it all, 'well,...'. Never even bothering to think about the difference between what you first assumed ( 40 days, what already be enough to kill many) to 370 days!! What do you think about that? And no, they did not find Noah's Ark, again! Like always, desperate 'Christian' archeologists find wood and claim to be the ark, not even allowing real scientists to analyze it.
@lovemrdarcy where in the bible does it say it was a year? it doesnt. It was 40 days.
There is no evidence to point that it was a year.
And they didnt just find wood they found what we know and what sceintists would agree could be nothing but a boat. And it is nearly the size of the titanic. The only reason you dont know about it is because of the media.
It has been analyzed and the evidence is pretty firm. The Atheist scientific community just doesnt want to believe it.
@Gaaminator "It has been analyzed and the evidence is pretty firm". By who? Where did you get that? From AIG? "The atheist scientific community just doesn't want to believe it'. Yeah, that's right. You got it. You are so smart. It's all a conspiracy and you figured out. Scientists have an agenda and they spend their time faking evidence because they hate God. I guess the secret is out now. You're so bright. LOL.
@Gaaminator And by way, the time of the flood can be found in religious websites if you still has trouble reading your Bible. So, either Christian sites are liars or your Bible is one pretty contraditory book. Ops, that would be the case for several things actually. There are various examples of contradiction in the Bible. Documented by its own verses. But I don't suppose you ever noticed or would care about this too, so why bother, right?
@Gaaminator Last but no least. "There is no evidence to point that it was a year". Thank you. Yes. I couln't agree more. Congratulations on your reasoning. Finally. There is no evidence to point it was a year. Or a day. Or 40. There is no evidence. Point. Because it is physically impossible. Unless you have faith. And a believe in an imaginary superpower. Like any toddler.
@lovemrdarcy There is no writing whatsoever that it was a Year. Moses wrote that it was 40 days. If you believe Moses was a true prophet than it was 40 days. If Moses was lying than than God would have no credibility. and the Resurrection Of Jesus would therefore have no credibility. But we do have evidence that Jesus was resurrected. And So we can prove Jesus we can also prove the bible.
We know Jesus existed because of the four witnesses/gospels, and sources outside the bible.
@Gaaminator "There is no writting whatsoever that it was a year" Hello?? Did you check the Bible? Maybe yours is missing some pages? I provided you the verses. Do you know how to read? Which verses are you talking about? Would you like some Christian sites links? I think you really should sue your Sunday school teacher or your pastor. Want some more embarrassement? I can put the verses right here. Maybe you never really read Genesis hum?
@Gaaminator Now, I'm curious. Are you really hoping this was 40 days? Meaning that even you would have a limit of absurd and if indeed you see that the Bible ( and religious interpretations) clearly presents the flood as a whooping 370 days, even you would THEN say... wait a minute. 40 days I could swallow but 370? No, then I have to rethink this thing. Are you serious here? Tell me. What difference would make to you? That would be finally your wake up call? I kind of doubt that.
@lovemrdarcy I disagree with the 40 days because it says 40 days and nowhere does it say anything else. learn to read. And the 150 days was the excess water coming down from where it came. But they were only on the ark for 40 days. stop taking things out of context please. and use some common sense.
@Gaaminator Listen. If we are going to discuss, we need at least some level of honesty in here and I don't think how can I be taking things out of context if I am proving to you the verse. IN the context. It's there. It seems that it's you that must suffer of some sort of dislexia and can't read. And again, it's not my interpretation. It's the religious interpretation. Do you want the Christian links?
@Gaaminator I'm starting feeling sorry for you. Because it seems you really do not know your Bible enough to even discuss it. I don't want to break your heart showing the contradictions on it. ( And how reliable is a source that can not even keep it straight right?). But here it goes. Genesis 7:17 "And the flood was forty days upon the earth." Then Genesis 7:24 "And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred " ...
@Gaaminator Opss.. no wait. There's more: Gen 8:3 "And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the one hundred and fifty days the waters were abated". And there is more. Do you want it? Jeez, which one to pick? Hummm... What do you think? Let's just adopt the tactic of changing the matter and blabling about Moses right?
@Gaaminator Oh right, the gospels! Since you are saying 'witnesses' I have to think you must have no idea that the gospels were written OVER A HUNDRED YEAR after Jesus. And the gospels were really anonymous. So much for witnesses, huh? So, let's summarize. You base your evidence of everything on a book that has tons of contradictions. And on top of that, you seems to be in the selected few (even among religious) that does not know that the gospels were not written by eye witnesses of Jesus life.
@lovemrdarcy we know the gospel of John was either written by John himself in his old age or his disciple. So a witness of a witness is still a witness. and it wouldnt have been changed. the gospels would have either been lying, or telling the truth. There was no motive for a lie and people do not die for something they know they lied about. The bible states itself that it has no contradiction and if you think there are then you do not understand what you are reading.
@Gaaminator " We know the gospel of John was either written by John himself in his old age or his disciple". Humm.. no. 'We' do not know that. 'You' take that, on faith. "A witness of a witness is still a witness". What? In what country? Ask any judge for a basics on reliability. What a nonsense Gaaminator. I have a friend of a friend of a friend that told me that. Is this really your standard of reliability?
@lovemrdarcy that is a good point, but your forgetting that you have 4 people telling the same story as well as sources outside the bible. So in order for it to be a lie or to be misinterpreted or what not. All of the witnesses would have to be wrong.
@Gaaminator My main point out of all this is that once you take the leap of faith on taking Bible or any other holy book as your source of evidence, there is no much to be discussed on absurdity or not. It's your position that whatever the Bible says must be true and that's why I must insist if you have a direct answer to my question. Would really make a difference or not the amount of days? Is there a limit to what you could stop and think it's absurd the flood story?
@Gaaminator There are no sources outside the Bible. Gaarminator. And if you are really interested in how the Bible was written, there are by now many historic research on it. And you will find in your research also contradictions on the 4 stories. And before you even take the rode to say that it's my account, you better know that the contradictions are even famous. You can find them easily as well like the flood's interpretation that I mention. I see no point in placing here verses over verses.
@Gaaminator sigh... Gaaminator, as I said, do your research. The church just wish these could be really taken as definitive proof. If you are interested, you will get outside religious source and find what is serious, not propaganda. If you think these mentions are new to me, you are mistaken. I started as a Catholic. Been there, done that, researched. Get me what I do not know it and I'll take a look.
@lovemrdarcy Also, this shows you low standards for believing in anything. Even if a man called Jesus ever existed, how can you automatically take that the stories in the Bible are real? Fables are born like this. By your logic, I can then assume that count Dracula existed -- because there is vague mentions of a historic figure. And then go ahead and believe in the fable created by written stories about him and there you go, you believe in vampires. That's the line you take in here. Gullible.
@Gaaminator Stop dogding my question. Now, answer if you can: what difference does it make for you if 40, 370 or 3700? Do you have a limit of absurdity or not?
@lovemrdarcy alright i actually read it. The greater part of the flood lasted for 40 days and after 40 days he sent out a bird to go fly out every week. then it was after 150 days when it landed on the mountains of Ararat. after that it mightve took awhile for the water to go down. but it actually doesnt make that much of a difference. the point is There was a world wide flood. And every single culture in the world that ever existed has a story of a world wide flood.
@Gaaminator 'The point is There was a world wide flood and every single culture has a story of a world wide flood". Yes Gaaminator, and from this I think we can jump and assume that 1: the flood really happened; then go ahead and say it was global (imagining how someone could know that in ancient times) ; and finally, conclude that the Bible is right. Details about how this would be possible are put on the 'everything is possible for God' and there you go, it is a fact !
@Gaaminator Yes, sure. There is a story of a world wide flood and therefore the story in the Bible is true. No matter how impossible would be the statistics of the adventure. Case closed.
@Gaaminator Please, if you have an answer, let me know. I'm not really interested in delonging this discussion. If you are going to reply me on any thing, please be on what I have been asking you for some posts now. thanks.
@Gaaminator Wait, I don't mean to pound on you. And I'm really curious now about your answer to what would be different if you saw that the Bible says it was 370 instead of 40 days. What difference would that make to you? None, right? Come on. I just want to hear you say it.
@lovemrdarcy you are taking it out of context. The ark was floating during the flood for 40 days. then it took some time for the flood waters to go down from where they were and it may have taken up to a year for a world wide flood to go down from the entire places of the earth. The same flood that formed the grand canyon. But that proves that your an idiot that you did not understand what you are reading.
@Gaaminator Hey, are we going down to name calling now? That may be your Christian attitude but I'll keep treating you with the respect that you may not deserve anymore after you resorted to name calling. Listen, I myself couldn't care less if it said 40 or 370. It's the same absurdity to me. As I said, this calculation can be found in most Christian sites, so if you want to call anybody stupid for it, please go ahead and post a comment for your fellow Christians...
@Gaaminator Please google a little and pick the Christian sites that writes about the flood lasting 370 days and let them now how stupid they are. I would agree with you actually. Not for the same reason but nonetheless, it would be funny to see your face reading that it's not ME interpreting the Bible in here. And my answer? Do you have it or not?
@Gaaminator What difference would make to you if it was 40 or 370 days? Do you have a limit of absurdity? What would make you stop and think.. wait a minute. THAT I can not swallow? Say it. It does not matter. It could be written that the flood is still happening and that would be all it takes for you, right? 40 or 370 or 3700. If it's in the Bible, it has to be true, right?
@Gaaminator And it just hit me. I am really discussing with someone who actually believes in this fable. Even most religious don't take the Bible as literal thing. How come did we get to this point in US? Or maybe you are from Turkey? How an educated country raises people believing in a story that even children could spot as impossible? And I guess I just make this worse by actually engaging in the discussion as if there was even the possibility of a giant Ark. And with dinosaurs! Is this real?
@Gaaminator • How is your logic now that you know that the flood lasted over a year? Just say 'God did it'? .By judging by your arguments, you are just a gullible person that never questioned what you have been told to believe since young age. Look up youtube ? That's your source? LOL. Please do yourself a favor and go to a library, pick a book on real science. Learn biology. This may be a shocker to you ( like finding you do not know the Bible) but youtube vids are not revised for truth. ohhhh.
So, do any of you people saying that God and Noah and all other religious figures are non-existent have any proof? So what if there's a giant universe filled with an infinite number of planets, how do you think they got there?Certainly the Big Bang didn't just explode from nothing without the help of some sort of all powerful creature, because, by the laws of science, you can't make anything out of nothing. And, if there is a God, every non-believer is fucked for eternity in Hell.
As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left
Wow. Can't even make a simple commercial with Noah's Ark without a creation/evolution fight. I see idiots on both sides here, and some of you are only right by accident.
how about some more... if evolutionism was true, there would be 10 to the 300th power of human beings in the universe. (with a doubling rate of 2 per 500 yrs.) You would need a few galaxies to fit that many people...
It's actually the reason animals change over time - finite resources means there's competition to survive. The stronger genes get passed on, the weaker ones die young.
@jazzx251 its called stupidity!! believing in evolution requires much more FAITH than believing in creation... the conditions evolution suggests are simply astronomically impossible... and they have the nerve to present them as TRUE... haha delusions... all of it... ONE alone created all things and from Him comes the world we see... i wonder... what was Darwin sniffing when he came up with "NATURAL SELECTION"? Microevolution... now that is something factual... something science has proved
Microevolution and macro evolution are the same thing.
The only difference is the amount of time.
You make tiny changes (micro evolution) from generation to generation and over millions of generations this adds up to massive changes from what you started with (macro evolution).
If you accept micro-evolution (as you should) then you automatically must assume, given the age of the earth at 4.5 billion years, that macro-evolution is inevitable.
I live in the U.S, sadly, my dad and grandparents believe this story to be true. I tend to feel sorry for them, because they are living in the superstitious past, instead of seeing the universe for the truly amazing thing that it is through the knowledge that science has revealed. It is depressing when you look down on your elders because of the immaturity of their rationality. It should be the other way around.
@georgetcr you think you understand the universe because of science? How much have the universe do we know about? And then scientists make the claim it began from teh big bang, a process that began from a spinning particle. Last time i checked matter doesnt come from nothing. Heres some math for you: 0+0=0
@footballward Science is simply thorough observation, so yes, that is the best way to learn about the things around us, the only way. If it weren't for this evil thing you call science, then you would stil be living in a cave eating rats. Science drives progress because it works, unlike religion which retards progress by opposing scientific finds because of dogma. And you are right, nobody really knows how all this shit got here, including me.
@georgetcr I don't follow any religion but the story of a Great Flood is found in the older Sumerian 'Epic of Gilgamesh' and in Greek mythology where Zeus floods the world and only a couple survive. These myths may be based on ancient altered legends of some great flooding at the end of the last Ice Age. Interesting that the dimensions of the Ark in the Gilgamesh and biblical versions gives the 'golden spiral' which is found throughout nature - the stories may contain hidden symbolism.
part2 ... however, the idea of either 'the gods' or "God" or "Zeus" causing this to wipe out evil humanity is cultural belief. The idea of someone literally putting two of every animal on a large boat is quite impossible but symbolically, if the ratio of the dimensions is related to the golden spiral which is found in so many levels of geometric patterning throughout Reality (eg, nautilus shell, ram's horn, hurricane, spiral galaxy) then this story is a carrier of hidden symbolic ideas.
@zetetic0void Exactly right. The end of the last ice age is when people started settling down into agricultural, large communities. What do we know about the thawing ice age at that time? There were many ice damns in valleys around the world, holding back lots of melt water. These damns broke, not all at once, but basically you get many local massive flooding events. Their "whole world" floods. Of course these people would contribute this to the gods and create legends and stories from these.
@georgetcr It's depressing to look upon your comment when our younger generations lose faith... I'm only 22 and I find it depressing. Do your studies and read your Bible before you talk. I mean the whole Bible. The old testament and the new testament. You will find that every word in it is true. Also, every prophecy ever written in the bible has come to pass... Do your homework... In fact, the revelation in the bible has more about what is happening NOW than in any other time. Check it out.
@deserteagle347 It was reading the bible that made me an atheist in the first place. Nice try though. I can tell that it is you who hasn't read it, saying that "every word in it is true" is absolutely hilarious. Even if we don't consider the MANY scientific impossibilities, and use just the stories themselves, every word can't be true; because there are so many internal contradictions. For example, in genesis, which came first, humans or the other animals? Check it out.
@georgetcr We know that there was a long period between god creating the earth and god creating humans.Let me ask you, do you believe that when we die,we just disappear.I mean spirit-wise.We just cease to exist?I can prove to you the answer is no.We go somewhere when we die.But asides from that. The creator of this world can certainly make scientific impossibilities occur. He's certainly not short of those. For instance,do you believe Sodom and Gommarah was really rained upon with sulfur?
@deserteagle347 "The creator of this world can certainly make scientific impossibilities occur." Because of that statement, I am not even going to waste my time arguing with you, as you have thrown out rationality all together. You have structured your god "theory" so that no evidence of any kind can falsify it. If you would like to have a debate based on logic and evidence, I am game. If you don't want to use logic and evidence, well then I guess that says alot about the validity of your claim.
@deserteagle347 You can prove that there's life after death? Congratulations on making the most idiotic comment ever. Forget the fact that that's obviously something that is, by definition, impossible to prove or disprove, I'm really interested in what it is that you could possibly believe is "proof" of that.
Also, I guess faith is meaningless altogether then, if all religious fantasies (more like nightmares, in reality) can be proven, but do tell...
Funny commercial. But in the Bible Noah didn't have to gather the Animals cause they were obeying GOD. This Whole Dinosaur thing. In the Bible there call Behemoth's which means Gigantic lizard creature & in the Bible they breath fire. Between this Biblical area & China, they found a Dino skull with a resoivor inside they "don't" know whats for you'll never see on Discovery. The reason there extinct is because they thought they were better then GOD & GOD was like nope, be gone. It's that simple.
@ggiahehsoo - It is known that the ancient greeks and chinese found dinosaur bones, didn't know what they were, and thus you have the birth of the "cyclops" and "dragon" legends. Is it possible that the bible is doing the same thing, or are you really saying that dinosaurs lived 5,000 years ago?
@georgetcr I'm saying that the dinosaurs lived 5000 years ago, with humans... well, read Job in the bible, towards the end of it. It talks about two dinosaurs, called the behemoth and the leviathan.
@ggiahehsoo Yes, the bible does say that. But my previous point still stands, that is, why are those stories any different from the ancient chinese stories of dragons, and the greek stories of giant cyclops? Why would you think that the bible story is accurate history, and not just a myth like the previously mentioned ones? Especially with the HUGE amount of evidence that points to dinosaurs being millions of years old, it should be obvious that these are just stories.
@georgetcr One fact is that the Bible has very little mistakes even though it is thousands of years old. The most mistakes are punctuation or grammer mistakes, such as "thank bou" Which Obviously is "Thank you." The other written records have many differences, for example, the odyssey. in only 200 years, it had over 30 mistakes, while the bible, in about 1000 years, 4 mistakes, which all were capitaliztion or punctuation mistakes.
@ggiahehsoo Haha, lmao. Well you must be a Christian, and an old school one at that, because only a Christian clinging to his beliefs would insist that the Bible has ONLY grammatical mistakes. Really funny, thanks for the laugh. (I am willing to have a rational discussion, but once you start denying reality, I'm done.)
@georgetcr How do you know the Dinosaurs are millions of years old? Cause there buried in this Million year old incrustation. How Do you know it's a million year old incrustation. Cause it has these million year old fossils in it. Seethe problem here? Fossils need a sudden change. Like the Great Flood the Bible describes. They through a teddy bear in the ocean & carbon dated it & it read 50,000 years old. Sorry, But 20 Century science vindicates the Bible.
Thousands of scientists have dated fossils using a number of methods - and all come to the inescapable conclusion that fossils are millions of years old.
If any one scientist hits an anomaly - a thousand others verify that it's just a blip.
@georgetcr In Texas, there are footprints left in what was once an ancient wash alongside a riverbank. The tracks are that of a dinosaur. Incredible part is the human footprints that are alongside them in the fossilized stone. Science has tried to say the dino tracks are millions of years old and the human tracks are recent additions.. The fossilized stone "somehow" softened enough to allow the human, much later, to make impressions. Fact is, the human was tracking the 2-legged dino.
@russdonruss You are an idiot. Even most creationists have stopped using those "tracks". Every scientific expedition that has examined those tracks, has concluded that there are no human tracks, but dino tracks that are in some cases eroded enough to give the faint resemblance to human tracks. Besides, they are very large tracks, were these giant people? All it has taken to disprove this crap invented by some dumb texas creationist is a little bit of observation. You fail.
@judoyodan Your comment is random & a complete waste of time. Enjoy your Rated R movies while you still can. Satanic grocery shopping yup land is going down.
So can you explain how 5000 years ago, a couple of kangaroos crossed the Indian Ocean (there were no boats at all of any worth at that time to stow away on) and, without maps, bounced their way to the Middle East?
Can you also explain how 2 polar bears did not die of heat exhaustion when in the searing heat of the desert with all that fur on?
Penguins? No way would they come close to surviving in the Middle East.
@judoyodan it's not a matter of being stupid or ignorant. The problem is the people who believe this stuff don't have a good grasp of psychology/critical thinking. Even if you were to try to educate them out of these type of beliefs they would fight your info as to not upset what they already know. It's just how the mind works unfortunately. They are trained to think that way. Once you are indoctrinated into beliefs it is very difficult to escape that way of thinking.
@judoyodan I suppose you believe in the big bang and evolution--both of which are theories that have gained popularity and are now being cited as fact--although they both go in opposition to the laws of thermodynamics and chaos... Still, a fantastic story, nonetheless. You can cling to your stories and "scientific" superstitions if you want, but know that if you do, its no different accepting them blindly than anyone accepting the Bible as true...
@judoyodan and you're not worth talking to because the only thing you know is name-calling and belittling people you don't even know. I hope your ego got the boost it so needed. I'm sorry your life is so messed up you look to increase your opinion of yourself by belittling others on youtube. I'll pray for you.
@judoyodan Ever single culture in history that ever existed has had a world wide flood story. And actually The majority of the U.S. Is Christian so the Majority of the U.S. believes it. Actually the majority of the entire earth believe in a flood story seeing as 85% of the world follow some type of religion. there really isnt any reason to doubt the word of god but theyre will always be doubters out there....
in 1908 a lady named sally rusa was in the woods looking for a dog until a ghost came and killed her so if ur reading this u will find a bloody body in your closet hanging there haunting you and will kill you and ur family and if u want to stop this just sends this to 6 videos in 30 mins or this will happen good luck
This has to be the best commercial anyone anywhere has ever made. A friend of mine told me about this commercial a couple years ago and just busted out laughing when he described it. Today I decided to check out Youtube and sure enough - here it is. It is better than he described!

Gaaminator 1 year ago
@Gaaminator It's not a theory, it's a fable. And the way you change the discussion says it all, 'well,...'. Never even bothering to think about the difference between what you first assumed ( 40 days, what already be enough to kill many) to 370 days!! What do you think about that? And no, they did not find Noah's Ark, again! Like always, desperate 'Christian' archeologists find wood and claim to be the ark, not even allowing real scientists to analyze it.
lovemrdarcy 1 year ago
@lovemrdarcy where in the bible does it say it was a year? it doesnt. It was 40 days.
There is no evidence to point that it was a year.
And they didnt just find wood they found what we know and what sceintists would agree could be nothing but a boat. And it is nearly the size of the titanic. The only reason you dont know about it is because of the media.
It has been analyzed and the evidence is pretty firm. The Atheist scientific community just doesnt want to believe it.
Gaaminator 1 year ago
@Gaaminator Fetch a Bible. An atheist will teach you if your pastor won't. I guess they don't make Christians like they used to.
- First the rain fell for 40 days (Genesis 7:4.)
- Then the waters prevailed upon the earth for 110 days (Genesis 7:24).
- Next, the waters were "going and decreasing" for 74 days (Genesis 8:5).
- After 40 more days Noah sent out the raven (Genesis 8:6-7).
Are you counting? So far 264 days...

lovemrdarcy 1 year ago
@Gaaminator 264 days and counting...
- After 7 more days Noah sent out the dove for the first time (Genesis 8:8 and compare 8:10).
- After 7 more days he sent the dove for the second time (Genesis 8:10).
- After 7 more days Noah sent out the dove for the third time (Genesis 8:12).
Still there? So far 285 days ...
Cont ..
lovemrdarcy 1 year ago
@Gaaminator 285 days and counting ...
After 86 more days the earth had dried to the point where they could depart from the ark (Genesis 8:13-14).
Yeap, about 370+ days. If you doubt it, check your Christians sites.
What do they teach in Sunday school these days?
Now, to the point. What do you really care? If the Bible said it had last over 1 day or over a century, you would still believed.
What difference does it make to you? Really?
lovemrdarcy 1 year ago
@Gaaminator "It has been analyzed and the evidence is pretty firm". By who? Where did you get that? From AIG? "The atheist scientific community just doesn't want to believe it'. Yeah, that's right. You got it. You are so smart. It's all a conspiracy and you figured out. Scientists have an agenda and they spend their time faking evidence because they hate God. I guess the secret is out now. You're so bright. LOL.
lovemrdarcy 1 year ago
@Gaaminator And by way, the time of the flood can be found in religious websites if you still has trouble reading your Bible. So, either Christian sites are liars or your Bible is one pretty contraditory book. Ops, that would be the case for several things actually. There are various examples of contradiction in the Bible. Documented by its own verses. But I don't suppose you ever noticed or would care about this too, so why bother, right?
lovemrdarcy 1 year ago
@Gaaminator Last but no least. "There is no evidence to point that it was a year". Thank you. Yes. I couln't agree more. Congratulations on your reasoning. Finally. There is no evidence to point it was a year. Or a day. Or 40. There is no evidence. Point. Because it is physically impossible. Unless you have faith. And a believe in an imaginary superpower. Like any toddler.
lovemrdarcy 1 year ago
@lovemrdarcy There is no writing whatsoever that it was a Year. Moses wrote that it was 40 days. If you believe Moses was a true prophet than it was 40 days. If Moses was lying than than God would have no credibility. and the Resurrection Of Jesus would therefore have no credibility. But we do have evidence that Jesus was resurrected. And So we can prove Jesus we can also prove the bible.
We know Jesus existed because of the four witnesses/gospels, and sources outside the bible.
Gaaminator 1 year ago

Genesis 7:17 "And the flood was forty days upon the earth." Then Genesis 7:24 "And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred " ...
lovemrdarcy 1 year ago
@Gaaminator Opss.. no wait. There's more: Gen 8:3 "And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the one hundred and fifty days the waters were abated". And there is more. Do you want it? Jeez, which one to pick? Hummm... What do you think? Let's just adopt the tactic of changing the matter and blabling about Moses right?
lovemrdarcy 1 year ago
@Gaaminator Oh right, the gospels! Since you are saying 'witnesses' I have to think you must have no idea that the gospels were written OVER A HUNDRED YEAR after Jesus. And the gospels were really anonymous. So much for witnesses, huh? So, let's summarize. You base your evidence of everything on a book that has tons of contradictions. And on top of that, you seems to be in the selected few (even among religious) that does not know that the gospels were not written by eye witnesses of Jesus life.
lovemrdarcy 1 year ago
@lovemrdarcy we know the gospel of John was either written by John himself in his old age or his disciple. So a witness of a witness is still a witness. and it wouldnt have been changed. the gospels would have either been lying, or telling the truth. There was no motive for a lie and people do not die for something they know they lied about. The bible states itself that it has no contradiction and if you think there are then you do not understand what you are reading.
Gaaminator 1 year ago
@Gaaminator " We know the gospel of John was either written by John himself in his old age or his disciple". Humm.. no. 'We' do not know that. 'You' take that, on faith. "A witness of a witness is still a witness". What? In what country? Ask any judge for a basics on reliability. What a nonsense Gaaminator. I have a friend of a friend of a friend that told me that. Is this really your standard of reliability?
lovemrdarcy 1 year ago
@lovemrdarcy that is a good point, but your forgetting that you have 4 people telling the same story as well as sources outside the bible. So in order for it to be a lie or to be misinterpreted or what not. All of the witnesses would have to be wrong.

@Gaaminator My main point out of all this is that once you take the leap of faith on taking Bible or any other holy book as your source of evidence, there is no much to be discussed on absurdity or not. It's your position that whatever the Bible says must be true and that's why I must insist if you have a direct answer to my question. Would really make a difference or not the amount of days? Is there a limit to what you could stop and think it's absurd the flood story?
lovemrdarcy 1 year ago
@Gaaminator There are no sources outside the Bible. Gaarminator. And if you are really interested in how the Bible was written, there are by now many historic research on it. And you will find in your research also contradictions on the 4 stories. And before you even take the rode to say that it's my account, you better know that the contradictions are even famous. You can find them easily as well like the flood's interpretation that I mention. I see no point in placing here verses over verses.
lovemrdarcy 1 year ago
@lovemrdarcy Oh really? no sources outside the bible? Actually there are.
Josephus, The Roman Historian Tacitus, Pliny the younger, And the Jewish Talmud.
Now inside and outside the Bible that is 8 separate written witnesses of Jesus Christ.
Just about all Historians agree Jesus was a real person. And that there is no reason to doubt that he did.
People who think the Bible has contradicting verses dont understand the verses.
Gaaminator 1 year ago
@Gaaminator sigh... Gaaminator, as I said, do your research. The church just wish these could be really taken as definitive proof. If you are interested, you will get outside religious source and find what is serious, not propaganda. If you think these mentions are new to me, you are mistaken. I started as a Catholic. Been there, done that, researched. Get me what I do not know it and I'll take a look.
lovemrdarcy 1 year ago
@lovemrdarcy Also, this shows you low standards for believing in anything. Even if a man called Jesus ever existed, how can you automatically take that the stories in the Bible are real? Fables are born like this. By your logic, I can then assume that count Dracula existed -- because there is vague mentions of a historic figure. And then go ahead and believe in the fable created by written stories about him and there you go, you believe in vampires. That's the line you take in here. Gullible.

Gaaminator 1 year ago
@Gaaminator 'The point is There was a world wide flood and every single culture has a story of a world wide flood". Yes Gaaminator, and from this I think we can jump and assume that 1: the flood really happened; then go ahead and say it was global (imagining how someone could know that in ancient times) ; and finally, conclude that the Bible is right. Details about how this would be possible are put on the 'everything is possible for God' and there you go, it is a fact !
lovemrdarcy 1 year ago
@Gaaminator Yes, sure. There is a story of a world wide flood and therefore the story in the Bible is true. No matter how impossible would be the statistics of the adventure. Case closed.

@Gaaminator Wait, I don't mean to pound on you. And I'm really curious now about your answer to what would be different if you saw that the Bible says it was 370 instead of 40 days. What difference would that make to you? None, right? Come on. I just want to hear you say it.
lovemrdarcy 1 year ago
@lovemrdarcy you are taking it out of context. The ark was floating during the flood for 40 days. then it took some time for the flood waters to go down from where they were and it may have taken up to a year for a world wide flood to go down from the entire places of the earth. The same flood that formed the grand canyon. But that proves that your an idiot that you did not understand what you are reading.
Gaaminator 1 year ago
@Gaaminator Hey, are we going down to name calling now? That may be your Christian attitude but I'll keep treating you with the respect that you may not deserve anymore after you resorted to name calling. lovemrdarcy 1 year ago
Do you have it or not?
lovemrdarcy 1 year ago
@Gaaminator What difference would make to you if it was 40 or 370 days? Do you have a limit of absurdity? What would make you stop and think.. wait a minute. THAT I can not swallow? Say it. It does not matter. It could be written that the flood is still happening and that would be all it takes for you, right? 40 or 370 or 3700. If it's in the Bible, it has to be true, right?
lovemrdarcy 1 year ago
@Gaaminator And it just hit me. I am really discussing with someone who actually believes in this fable. Even most religious don't take the Bible as literal thing. How come did we get to this point in US? Or maybe you are from Turkey? How an educated country raises people believing in a story that even children could spot as impossible? As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left

Darwin sorted this one out ages ago.
It's actually the reason animals change over time - finite resources means there's competition to survive. The stronger genes get passed on, the weaker ones die young.
It's called natural selection.

@jazzx251 its called stupidity!! believing in evolution requires much more FAITH than believing in creation... the conditions evolution suggests are simply astronomically impossible... and they have the nerve to present them as TRUE... haha delusions... all of it... Microevolution... now that is something factual... something science has proved
edualym 1 year ago
@edualym
No faith required. Just logic.

Interesting that the dimensions of the Ark in the Gilgamesh and biblical versions gives the 'golden spiral' which is found throughout nature - the stories may contain hidden symbolism.
zetetic0void 1 year ago
part2 ... however, the idea of either 'the gods' or "God" or "Zeus" causing this to wipe out evil humanity is cultural belief. The idea of someone literally putting two of every animal on a large boat is quite impossible but symbolically, if the ratio of the dimensions is related to the golden spiral which is found in so many levels of geometric patterning throughout Reality (eg, nautilus shell, ram's horn, hurricane, spiral galaxy) then this story is a carrier of hidden symbolic ideas.
zetetic0void 1 year ago
@zetetic0void Exactly right. The end of the last ice age is when people started settling down into agricultural, large communities. What do we know about the thawing ice age at that time? There were many ice damns in valleys around the world, holding back lots of melt water. These damns broke, not all at once, but basically you get many local massive flooding events. Their "whole world" floods. Of course these people would contribute this to the gods and create legends and stories from these.
georgetcr 1 year ago
@georgetcr It's depressing to look upon your comment when our younger generations lose faith... I'm only 22 and I find it depressing. Do your studies and read your Bible before you talk. I mean the whole Bible. The old testament and the new testament. You will find that every word in it is true. Also, every prophecy ever written in the bible has come to pass... Do your homework... In fact, the revelation in the bible has more about what is happening NOW than in any other time. Check it out.
deserteagle347 1 year ago
@deserteagle347 It was reading the bible that made me an atheist in the first place. Nice try though. I can tell that it is you who hasn't read it, saying that "every word in it is true" is absolutely hilarious. Even if we don't consider the MANY scientific impossibilities, and use just the stories themselves, every word can't be true; because there are so many internal contradictions. For example, in genesis, which came first, humans or the other animals? Check it out.
georgetcr 1 year ago
@georgetcr We know that there was a long period between god creating the earth and god creating humans.Let me ask you, do you believe that when we die,we just disappear.I mean spirit-wise.We just cease to exist?I can prove to you the answer is no.We go somewhere when we die.But asides from that. The creator of this world can certainly make scientific impossibilities occur. He's certainly not short of those. For instance,do you believe Sodom and Gommarah was really rained upon with sulfur?
deserteagle347 1 year ago
@deserteagle347 "The creator of this world can certainly make scientific impossibilities occur." Because of that statement, I am not even going to waste my time arguing with you, as you have thrown out rationality all together. You have structured your god "theory" so that no evidence of any kind can falsify it. If you would like to have a debate based on logic and evidence, I am game. If you don't want to use logic and evidence, well then I guess that says alot about the validity of your claim.
georgetcr 1 year ago
@deserteagle347 You can prove that there's life after death? Congratulations on making the most idiotic comment ever. Forget the fact that that's obviously something that is, by definition, impossible to prove or disprove, I'm really interested in what it is that you could possibly believe is "proof" of that.
Also, I guess faith is meaningless altogether then, if all religious fantasies (more like nightmares, in reality) can be proven, but do tell...

@ggiahehsoo - It is known that the ancient greeks and chinese found dinosaur bones, didn't know what they were, and thus you have the birth of the "cyclops" and "dragon" legends. Is it possible that the bible is doing the same thing, or are you really saying that dinosaurs lived 5,000 years ago?
georgetcr 1 year ago
@georgetcr I'm saying that the dinosaurs lived 5000 years ago, with humans... well, read Job in the bible, towards the end of it. It talks about two dinosaurs, called the behemoth and the leviathan.
ggiahehsoo 1 year ago
@ggiahehsoo Yes, the bible does say that. But my previous point still stands, that is, why are those stories any different from the ancient chinese stories of dragons, and the greek stories of giant cyclops? Why would you think that the bible story is accurate history, and not just a myth like the previously mentioned ones? Especially with the HUGE amount of evidence that points to dinosaurs being millions of years old, it should be obvious that these are just stories.
georgetcr 1 year ago
@georgetcr One fact is that the Bible has very little mistakes even though it is thousands of years old. The most mistakes are punctuation or grammer mistakes, such as "thank bou" Which Obviously is "Thank you." The other written records have many differences, for example, the odyssey. in only 200 years, it had over 30 mistakes, while the bible, in about 1000 years, 4 mistakes, which all were capitaliztion or punctuation mistakes.

Fact is, the human was tracking the 2-legged dino.
russdonruss 1 year ago
@russdonruss You are an idiot. Even most creationists have stopped using those "tracks". They are trained to think that way. Once you are indoctrinated into beliefs it is very difficult to escape that way of thinking.

@paulsgospel, then you are either a child, or an idiot.

@judoyodan Sure, call names. That's what most people do when they don't have an answer. Thanks for validating my point.

@russdonruss, you ARE a moron, and the worst part is - I think you know.
judoyodan 1 year ago

This has to be the best commercial anyone anywhere has ever made. A friend of mine told me about this commercial a couple years ago and just busted out laughing when he described it. Today I decided to check out Youtube and sure enough - here it is. It is better than he described!
