  • I don't have the patients for that! I love ferns but that is too tedious for me! But the video is very interesting just the same!

  • The big fern looks like a moose rack!

  • how big is your microwave! Dude, I have ne=ver met a microwave that big

  • This was great thanx!

  • Thanks for this video!

If microwaving was to sterilize, shouldn't you keep your hands off the soil after you do that? I basically tried your method using spore from my staghorn, but didn't boil my water, and after 3 months am finally seeing babies! I poured a spot of water with african violet fertilizer and some horticultural charcoal in the middle of my container yesterday, hoping its ok, but it really takes patience for these!

Wonder what would be the ideal fertilizer. Thanks thanks thanks.

  • my elkhorn spores container has a contamination l have sphagnum moss and it started to grow back it was meant to be dead and what do l do?

  • Brilliant !!!

  • Wow....Spore Growing!

  • I attempted this about a decade ago, when there was only one or two website on the process. Didn't work out. Interesting how times they do change. How long would it take to get a decent size fern? And how long did it take to grow that giant staghorn there?

  • Great and informative video. Thanks so much. I appreciate all your help.

  • Wow! that's a very nice and very cool video, I will try that because I love stag horn fern thank you very much,

  • Can you just take a cutting from a fern and but it in the soil? Or root it in water? I have lots of fern out front of my apartment and i would love to put some into a pot! I watched this clip and I love to do this. But can not afford to but it looks like a lot of fun. Also my microwave isn't big enough!
