fail, you used galvanized... and who the fuck is going to plug in a fan, to heat a tent? am I supposed to have a battery? lol or camp where there is electrical outlets? hahaha, this songs sucks too.
Just a question...isn't one thing that makes Rocket Stoves so powerful, the burning of the "Wood Gas" which is generated when the wood is heated; and isn't that already gone from charcoal? Just asking. Very nice looking stove!!
The only problem I see is that it seems like it would need a lot of fuel feeding. Could you have a J tube accessory? If you are heating a tent it would be nice to be in the tent and not feeding the heater. And what about a hot water accessory? You could run heated water into floor panels under the tent and into a small tank that other tents could feed off of maybe. You're probably already working on this kind of stuff! Nice build! Really cool! Keep it up!
Dude, this is ready for prime-time! Figure out a way to manufacture, hook fan to marine battery and possibly solar-cell, and sell to Cabela's for their wall tents!
Nice contraption with good materials and stuff, but I flippin hate music on vids unless it's something that fits. How about describing info on the thing?
@BubbleFairie That’s the thought I kept having. If you have 60 cps ac power you are living large. My generator burns about 5 gallons running all night and you can cook on the exhaust. In hurricane ally we keep those things to run the refrigerator and freezer when 110 60 CPS AC is not available for 2 3 weeks. In the north I bet they use smaller ones to keep the heater running without power..
Wow! Wonderful possibilities for off the grid. Deer camps or just camping! I am so fascinated! Bravo! You really need to take it to next level there are people who need this! Especially in disaster situations. Just a wonderful job! From at home mom in Ark.PS More options all in one unit...add water heater that can recirculate (pool water) or use for hot shower!! Great Job!!
Your right and there is a lot of skill involved. More than just slapping a nozzle and filter on. And a c/s- clean and service includes Cleaning!! Not just a burner tune up.
@furnacemann Nice unit.. Can you please share where I can purchase a unit like this ? The application I'm looking to use it for is to use a back up heat for a small greenhouse. what do you think?
It's very interesting and a little different but a nice change of pace especially when you get them performing right. Oil seems to be not to popular on here. I get tired of the smell comments. When Oil heat is kicking it can't be beat and more btu's per gallon than LP. Oil gets a bad reputation due to improper service.
@yrtuag No not yet. I would love to get my hands on one. I've tried to get my bro in law to get into it. He is a mechanic and I told him he could heat his 2 bay shop for free if he would jusr make the investment.
Oil is still popular in my area. Thermopride is my favorite unit. I work on gas but have more hours logged in on oil. And yes I am an oil fan. It performs very well when serviced properly.
@yrtuag I love oil and here in the foothills of NC oil is still very popular. My company is owned by an oil company. I have also gotten certified by NCI in fuel combustion and CO monitoring. I highly recomend it by anyone who deals with live fuel. Jim Davis is scary smart!
Fan of Thermopride ?? Me too - oil,gas or both? I have never seen this type of stove What is the advantage of this type of stove is it the amount of fuel used? Thanks
@yrtuag love the oil! They are the caddys of the industy with the hart of a Mack truck! This is a super efficent stove! Look at other "rocket stoves" posted. This one is my version with an Hvac twist! I used a welded hevey gauge pipe as a heat exchanger. Over a 100 burgers and hotdogs cooked on it and still no problems.
Dude we get the coffee and bologna we get it what about using it in a tent , what about Co

The beauty of a rocket mass heater is that the heater can exit out the side below the ground..while you heat the ground.

"hook fan to marine battery"
Forget about that. Use a a a small thermo electric generator placed in a hot spot of the stove to generate electricity passively.

@yrtuag that's it. Oil men are a different breed. Most techs don't even own a fuel combustion tool.
