  • Yeah I know that it's in the manual, but what is the difference between lipo mod an nimh mode? You do the same steps, so what's the difference?

  • How do you run nimh mode?

  • @anddreas2lair It is described in the manual, but theres a button on the esc.

  • But I just spent a lot of money buying nice batteries + charger etc... Can I still do 4s series without breaking anything?

  • @anddreas2lair Its been done, but dont do it long time, just try it... its way too much anyway. 2S feel slightly slower than two good nimh, but 3S is a lot of power for this thing. I suggest you to keep 2S and buy a 3S for fun. You will need to run nimh mode to be able to run 3S lipo otherwise it will hit the cut-off voltage limiter.

  • And is there a shut down on the esc before it overheats to protect it?

  • Can I run 2 2s in series just asphalt?

  • @anddreas2lair 4S is overkill, you will have TONS of power on 3S, 4S is crazy...and unecessary :) Youll be able to do rolling backflip on 3S. And theres a overheat protection, but if you hit it all the time good chance the esc will not live as long.

  • I went on the traxxas forum and this guy said series and parallel will both get fire wit just even 2s 2200mah x2 the ones from traxxas (which is in the mail for me right now, so I was scared)

  • @anddreas2lair If you have the brushed motor version then yes 3S will be too much, if you have the VXL brushless its ok, but watch the temp. I ran 2S no problem , two 2S 2200mah in parralel to make 4400mah, over 40min. of runtime no problem, did hit the overtemp protection a few times on 3S playing in sand.

If you run just on asphalt 3S is ok.

  • WHAT? That is 22.2 volts! The 3m is only limited to 12.4 volts in lipo's.....

  • @anddreas2lair No, in parrallel its still 11.1v, if you connect them in serie its 22 volt and you will mostly be able to do only one blip of throttle until it goes on fire. :)

We have ran 5S though on the mamba max 5700, but it was overheating quick, 4S was not too bad (that was for speed runs...) and my friend didnt cared if it would break...

Over 3S isnt necessary if you just play around. :)

  • Can you use dual 3s 11.1?

  • @anddreas2lair Yes, but connected in parrallel.

  • Thanks

  • Nice, what batteries do you use to get 60mph?

  • @anddreas2lair On 3S its enought, with a 31t pinion it will go around 65-66mph :)

  • What does it mean by shiming the diff?

  • @cooldude7c Adding little washers to eliminate play between gears. :)

  • nice, wish i have a place like that to run with my merv.. 5/5

  • is the whole thing dust proof (sand, grit) eg: nothing can get into the workings of it

  • @HANENG18 yes, but you need to shim the rear diff. :)

  • At the speed test, what was the batteries?

  • I really like to buy one but it is very very expensive in turkey its about 360$

  • @mrdr258 hahah in brazil it costs 650$, great.

  • Lol ur one didn't break on that mass jump but I snapped an a-arm on a tiny land of a tiny jump

  • Wanted to buy this one but saw videos on youtube that made me think it drove like a "square" was "jumpy", couldnt slide and would be like all the others. You guys and this video made me consider it again. Thanks for sharing this video.

  • nice vid.should i get a 1/16 summit or a 1/16 e-revo?

  • @traxxasrcfun One or the other is okay, id get a brushless one at least :)

  • i love the mini revo....it's a good modell

  • love the video great job. do you recommend any different tires to use or go out to get?

  • @Ginger3677 the stock one are not too bad :) thx!

  • @Ginger3677 get the response tires they are way better and if you have done so yet get alloy push rods and alloy shocks and stiffer springs and your truck will be way better

  • Nice vid I got me a mini erevo, I have not tried it on sand but will the stock tires do just fine or should I get diferent tires?

  • @Ginger3677 they will do just fine :)

  • this is the BEST video on youtube. i have been thinking about getting one of these for my first rc truck are they good for beginners and do they have alot of power for hill climbs

  • @benchmade556 Thank you :) They have way more than enought power for hill climb, but they will wheelie easily in will climb, they have a lot of power for their size. :)

  • @benchmade556 i wouldnt suggest for your first rc... the vxl slash is better...1/10th scale

  • how long do the stock batteries last in series?

  • @MrJatoking in serie id say 12 minutes , depend if ran in sand/dirt/grass or asphalt :)

  • Awesome vid dude!! where were you running that? And were you running that in sand? If so did you seal the bearings and the drive train or are they sealed stock?

  • @milk282 Yes it was in sand, we sealed the diff case, the problem is the play between diff gears, they need to be shimmed with a thin washer. :) Most use a team associated washer...

Other than that we did not proteft anything, our other cars are not protected, we havent had any problem due to sand. :)

  • @Mikepeperni ok so which one is better or faster? Or they the same? Which one do you recommend me?

  • @farova20 The brushless is faster and more reliable, get the brushless, the 1/10 version is bigger and more reliable, but more expansive, its all in what you can afford. :)

  • its not really goin 60 50 yeah 60 no im pretty sure when ur movin it past the car its addin the ten (or is it not on 2 nimh???)

  • @nickafier we also got it on GPS... 3S or 4S on stock 23t is 50mph hitting rev limiter, with 28t its about 57mph.

We have gone 78mph on GPS with it, and 83mph off camera with radar, we have a 82mph run on raqdar on video.... if you diont believe it i dont really care, you can come here and ill clock your car what ever way you want, i have a video i show a run without moving and with the move and its the same thing... :)

  • @mikepeperni hi bro can u tell me whats the difference between a mini e- revo vxl and brushless , i really dont know much about RC's but i would like to know alot. I really want to get my a e-revo seens really cool, can you give an advice about what assecories do i have to get and more.Pls, btw cool video

  • @farova20 Theres the mini revo VXL (brushless) and the mini revo brushed version, that use a brushed motor, then you have the bigger 1/10 version brushless. and the 1/10 version with brushed motor as well... :)

  • How much it cost ?? And where can i buy it??

  • @farova20 In most LHS or on the net like towerhobbies, amainhobbies etc... price are always changing last time it was like 239.99 if i remember...

  • how much did u sell ur mini e revo for?

  • which ones are urs ??

  • @mrGenetics12 I have the RC8Te and the revo with drag mod OS .28XZ :)

  • what are the trucks u have ?

  • @mrGenetics12 Currently we have RC8Te brushless, Savage Flux, DM1 spec brushless, Revo OS.28XZ drag modified and HPI Bullet ST (got it from europe..), we had a lot more over the last 2 years, but right now thats what we are running. :)

  • if u charge it 4 8 hours how many mins. does it last for

  • how do u control it in the air?

  • isn't running the vxl in series on dirt or sand or any loose ground bad for it? i burning one one esc and wondered why cuz it was first time it did thermal shutdown, and it had 23 pinion in it. then i read running on dirt with cause tires to spin too much. dont know if that has any truth behind it.

  • @amitchakraverty84 the only truth is that this vxl system overheat too easily, i could thermal on 2S with a 19t pinion... only place it will not overheat is onroad. :)

  • What bateries are you using in the vid?

  • @facuxx516 2 nimh in serie, and a 3S lipo, a 4S lipo. :)

  • @MikePeperni i thought u can only go up to 3S?

  • @ridermike221 You need to set it on nimh mode, but it work, it will overheat quick though... :)

  • @MikePeperni lol abuse much?

  • @ridermike221 Id say we ran any motor and esc beyond their recommended limit lol

  • 30 was tight as hell

  • nice landscape. where is this?

  • @instructor44059 Its in south shore of Montreal. :)

  • put CVD's on it that will fix the whole diff problem

  • have u thought about big blocking it? awesome vids!!

  • @erevofreak96 thx! yes we did that for the top speed video, we used a mamba max 5700. :)

  • did you run on 3s lipo at all? any drivetrain issues running two 7.2v in series?

  • @legostuffguy Yes, ran 3S and 4S. the rear diff need to be shimmed. Otherwise it will strip, even on 2 nimh.

  • the only thing i dont like about it are the brakes

  • i have a mini revo and its amazing how much bashing it takes for a little car

  • @ice1200man yeah they are pretty though. :)

  • thanks!!! so 2 nimh= wheellies and over 50mph right???

  • @leonardolandivarbaro with the 2 nimh and the already installed 28t pinion its

55-56 mph, and with the 23t pinion (recommend for less overheating) its 50mph and 30mph wheelies with ease. :)

  • and for the other part?? dual nimh??

  • and for the muddy part??? 2nimh???

  • @leonardolandivarbaro yes, it is quick even on 2 nimh, with the 23t pinion its 50mph and enought power to pull wheelies from 30mph roll. :)

  • nice vid!!! so you averything is stock exept that you are using 2nimh dual batteries right?????

  • @leonardolandivarbaro for the backflip on asphalt its a 3s lipo. :)

  • what type of charger do you us is it stock charger how long does the stock charger take to charge the stock battery

    :)

  • nice! how fast was it?

  • @shadowhunter177 on stock 28t with 3S lipo its about 55mph, with 23t on 3S lipo its 50mph. :)

  • is this thing good for like rocks and like the woods like sticks and crap to go over and not get stuck

  • hi,

any problems with sand? Backflips with nihm in series?

  • No problem with sand, except the rear diff need to be shimmed. you can do a backflip while jumping on 2 nimh connected in serie :)

  • NICE!

  • thank you!

    :)

  • hi! how is the durability of this little car? is it problematic? thanks

  • the rear diff strip easily, you need to shim it, then its pretty solid, the esc tend to overheat easily too, other than that its a very good mini :)

  • thanks :)

  • this is a great car.

the only 2 problems are gear grinding and (not so much a problem) the size makes it harder to do wat 1/10 s can easily do. overal its a great mini truck

  • pause at 2:52 , use that pic as your profile picture its so cool!

  • Im looking to get back into the rc hobby, i had the original first 2.5R revo swapped out with the 3.3 when it came out, but i was forced to get rid of it because it was just sitting and needed a rocker arm. So i sold it, id like to now get back into it, however i dont feel like spending $549.99 for the revo i want. So i was checking one of these out

  • these are amasing! they can be used to race at high speeds or to go bashing! you can change the chasi hight with the adjustable shocks and everything!

  • I dont wanna do wheelies or backflips with it, got bored of doing it with my stampede VXL. It cant put the front wheels on the floor lol but what set up do you need to do back flips and so ?

  • man that is soo good is it a brushless and how much was it

  • yes its brushless, it was 400$ can , its probably cheaper now :)

  • @MikePeperni 290 $ right now lol

  • its not 400$

    i have 280€ in Portugal :P

  • dude do u have a center differentail on it cus in other vids they just backflip automaticly when u accelerate

  • well there spinning in sand so i dont think they will back flip

  • Whats better on the 1/16 e-revo vxl than the 1/16 slash vxl?

    THANKs!

  • Its hard to say, the e-revo have more ground clearance, it will depend where you drive it and what is your preference :)

  • how do you keep you esc cool

  • You can get a duratrax heat sink, the blue one...

    dontremember the part number...

but the system will still overheat depending the setup.

  • what was your setup for the speed runs

  • about how long will 2 1500 nimh will last with a parrallel if you dont know give me your best guess

  • it would do about 25 minutes id say.

  • haha 20 seconds in. :P I love taking mine to the beach, they really do shred with the power connector. Its great they are water proof, driving them on the shorline with the water splashing and sand everywhere is rad! have fun guys!

  • dose sand get in the esc or motor

  • Comment removed

  • As long as you keep the body on nothing really gets inside. PLus brushless motors are 100 percent sealed so nothing gets inside, and the ESC is water proof. i live close to the beach so i take mine up there almost every weekend since i got it about 2 months ago and it get dirty and sandy, yet no problems!! These trucks are awesome, every thing is mud, dirt, sand, water, and bash-proof!! Have fun,

    -Wyatt

  • awesome video i wish i had a place like that to drive mine. i have a video of mine doing some speed runs with one then two batterys on mine if you want to see it...

  • how well does it run in the grass (e revo 1:16th vxl)

  • wow that is an GREAT vid and some really good driving will send you some vids of mine

  • ordering one tomorrow XD

  • ou tu la acheter

  • St-Rock de l'Achigan :)

  • what state are you in?

  • he lives in canada check his profile

  • how long can you drive with does 2 battery packs?

  • with two 2200mah pack in parrallel its about 45 minutes. :)

  • i want this little truck so badly!!

  • Me to, and I'm getting it :D

  • did u had to grease or/and spray(wd40) on the joints after/before running? would the performance go slow if you dont grease/spray

  • we did nothing to the truck in that department :)

  • Can you get a charger that lets you hook straight to a car battery? if not how did you charge your battery? sweat vid!

  • Haha !

  • what damage did you do with standing backflips?

  • Very Cool Vid Nice Place for the Revo!!!! Does your Servo have Problems to Steer?? Is it recommmed to use 2 Servos??

  • Thx! it have plenty of power with the single steering servo :)

  • how long can the dual nimh battery packs run for??????

  • Dual stock batteries 1200mah we got about 10-13 minutes of bashing in sand (motor always on load)

On asphalt its about 15-16 minutes.

It all depend how you drive it, if your alway WOT it can be 10 minutes.... :)

  • u should make a bashing vid on 3s lipos

  • We should soon ! :)

  • with same pinion and everything which is faster for u the duel 6 cell or 3s lipos

  • With 2 traxxas 1200mah in serie we got 49 mph with 23t pinion, 54mph with 28t pinion, with the 3S we only tried a 30T pinion and 35T, and it was still way more brutal than the 2 nimh on 23T pinion. id say it will go at least as fast, but way more power.

will post as soon as we get our lipo.

    :)

  • ok i just wanted to justify b4 i get the truck and lipos

  • oh and thnx for super fast reply

  • what is the perfect setup you would recomend for the e rvo 1/16.. what is the best pinion ratio and battery to put in ti. the lipos or the 2 nimh connected in series? thx

  • 2 zippy lipo 2200mah in parralel with the 23t pinion. :)

  • when did traxxas come out with the small size? and how much are they

I live in canada lol THx

    richard

  • nice video. i have a video of mine doing jumps and stuff.

  • Nice video. I know what you mean by don't do a standing flip, it killed my drivetrain now I'm waiting for yokes.

  • that looks like the perfect place to run a rc

  • Thx guys!

nothing broke since we got them, except ive "disconnected" a driveshaft doing a backflip from standing still, just do that and its very though!

  • what's on the back of the body? also are you using the stock esc for the 63mph runs?

  • Comment removed

  • what kind of batterys were you using to hit over 60

  • We used a 3S lipo, we strapped a 3S SMC 3400mah 18c under the body :)

  • sick vid. from far away it still looks like 1/8

  • wow! Makes me want one even more. And that is some bashing spot dude!! Looks very nice.

  • Comment removed

  • Great video! What kind of batteries did you use when it was going 63 mph?

  • it looks like it has good air control like the big revo and other 4wds...so does it

    NICE VIDEO

  • Very nice. Nothing broke after that 60+ mph roll over ?! Impressive, other mini rc would have broken the arm or bend the shaft already.

  • Nice vid

  • Nice vid , th

  • nice!!!
