@anddreas2lair Its been done, but dont do it long time, just try it... its way too much anyway. 2S feel slightly slower than two good nimh, but 3S is a lot of power for this thing. I suggest you to keep 2S and buy a 3S for fun. You will need to run nimh mode to be able to run 3S lipo otherwise it will hit the cut-off voltage limiter.
@anddreas2lair 4S is overkill, you will have TONS of power on 3S, 4S is crazy...and unecessary :) Youll be able to do rolling backflip on 3S. And theres a overheat protection, but if you hit it all the time good chance the esc will not live as long.
I went on the traxxas forum and this guy said series and parallel will both get fire wit just even 2s 2200mah x2 the ones from traxxas (which is in the mail for me right now, so I was scared)
@anddreas2lair If you have the brushed motor version then yes 3S will be too much, if you have the VXL brushless its ok, but watch the temp. I ran 2S no problem , two 2S 2200mah in parralel to make 4400mah, over 40min. of runtime no problem, did hit the overtemp protection a few times on 3S playing in sand.
@anddreas2lair No, in parrallel its still 11.1v, if you connect them in serie its 22 volt and you will mostly be able to do only one blip of throttle until it goes on fire. :)
We have ran 5S though on the mamba max 5700, but it was overheating quick, 4S was not too bad (that was for speed runs...) and my friend didnt cared if it would break...
Over 3S isnt necessary if you just play around. :)
Wanted to buy this one but saw videos on youtube that made me think it drove like a "square" was "jumpy", couldnt slide and would be like all the others. You guys and this video made me consider it again. Thanks for sharing this video.
@Ginger3677 get the response tires they are way better and if you have done so yet get alloy push rods and alloy shocks and stiffer springs and your truck will be way better
this is the BEST video on youtube. i have been thinking about getting one of these for my first rc truck are they good for beginners and do they have alot of power for hill climbs
@benchmade556 Thank you :) They have way more than enought power for hill climb, but they will wheelie easily in will climb, they have a lot of power for their size. :)
Awesome vid dude!! where were you running that? And were you running that in sand? If so did you seal the bearings and the drive train or are they sealed stock?
@milk282 Yes it was in sand, we sealed the diff case, the problem is the play between diff gears, they need to be shimmed with a thin washer. :) Most use a team associated washer...
Other than that we did not proteft anything, our other cars are not protected, we havent had any problem due to sand. :)
@farova20 The brushless is faster and more reliable, get the brushless, the 1/10 version is bigger and more reliable, but more expansive, its all in what you can afford. :)
@nickafier we also got it on GPS... 3S or 4S on stock 23t is 50mph hitting rev limiter, with 28t its about 57mph.
We have gone 78mph on GPS with it, and 83mph off camera with radar, we have a 82mph run on raqdar on video.... if you diont believe it i dont really care, you can come here and ill clock your car what ever way you want, i have a video i show a run without moving and with the move and its the same thing... :)
@mikepeperni hi bro can u tell me whats the difference between a mini e- revo vxl and brushless , i really dont know much about RC's but i would like to know alot. I really want to get my a e-revo seens really cool, can you give an advice about what assecories do i have to get and more.Pls, btw cool video
@farova20 Theres the mini revo VXL (brushless) and the mini revo brushed version, that use a brushed motor, then you have the bigger 1/10 version brushless. and the 1/10 version with brushed motor as well... :)
@mrGenetics12 Currently we have RC8Te brushless, Savage Flux, DM1 spec brushless, Revo OS.28XZ drag modified and HPI Bullet ST (got it from europe..), we had a lot more over the last 2 years, but right now thats what we are running. :)
isn't running the vxl in series on dirt or sand or any loose ground bad for it? i burning one one esc and wondered why cuz it was first time it did thermal shutdown, and it had 23 pinion in it. then i read running on dirt with cause tires to spin too much. dont know if that has any truth behind it.
@amitchakraverty84 the only truth is that this vxl system overheat too easily, i could thermal on 2S with a 19t pinion... only place it will not overheat is onroad. :)
@stjo5555 Merci! pour la grosseur non ye pas briseux, il faut par contre shimmer le diff en arriere parce que e un peu trop lousse, et il strip assez facile avec le temps. A part ca cest pas trop mal, cest 350$ environ.
the only 2 problems are gear grinding and (not so much a problem) the size makes it harder to do wat 1/10 s can easily do. overal its a great mini truck
Im looking to get back into the rc hobby, i had the original first 2.5R revo swapped out with the 3.3 when it came out, but i was forced to get rid of it because it was just sitting and needed a rocker arm. So i sold it, id like to now get back into it, however i dont feel like spending $549.99 for the revo i want. So i was checking one of these out
these are amasing! they can be used to race at high speeds or to go bashing! you can change the chasi hight with the adjustable shocks and everything!
I dont wanna do wheelies or backflips with it, got bored of doing it with my stampede VXL. It cant put the front wheels on the floor lol but what set up do you need to do back flips and so ?

anddreas2lair 1 month ago
@anddreas2lair It is described in the manual, but theres a button on the esc.

Nice video. I know what you mean by don't do a standing flip, it killed my drivetrain now I'm waiting for yokes.

Great video! What kind of batteries did you use when it was going 63 mph?
cnewson0809 2 years ago
it looks like it has good air control like the big revo and other 4wds...so does it
NICE VIDEO

Very nice. Nothing broke after that 60+ mph roll over ?! Impressive, other mini rc would have broken the arm or bend the shaft already.
