The Sontrarans made a great transition to todays makeup effects.

The Silurians didn't. Oh they looked pretty decent on their own merit when they met the 11th Doctor, dont get me wrong. But they didnt look like Silurians.

But the Sontarans looked just like Sontarans, but looked a lot more lifelike.

For me, the most effective portrayal of Sontarans is still the first one by Kevin Lindsay in Time Warrior and Sontaran Experiment. Lindsay's voice, mannerisms and costume made his Sontaran very menacing and dangerous, plus he was really there on scene for the other actors to react to, and not some CGI post-production that actors have to pretend to see. The Lindsay Sontaran killed without hesitation or emotion; a killer with no emotion is an extremely dangerous foe!

Graet Montage! I always wished they had used the Sontarans more! I always thought they were more 3-dimentional than most sci-fi villans. Brutal & ruthless... but always out of some necesity! (At least, for THEM!)

@jampox101 Agree I think the Sontarans should be used more often because if you look at the episodes they have been in you will know that they haven't been in alot of the Dr who episodes nore spin off episodes so I think they should be used more often.
