It is my understanding that the antichrist will be Jewish. We know the Jews will receive him (John 5:43). We know that the Jews are still awaiting a messiah - it is written that the antichrist will sit in the temple and proclaim himself to be God. The Jews will not accept a non-Jew as messiah. By rising from the sea aka the Gentiles it might just mean he rises from a Gentile NATION like America for example, while still being racially a Jew. Just my 2 cents. God bless you Arovir.
@armyofheaven777 It is only assumed John 5,43 concerns the Antichrist. The text does not say so. The idea that the Antichrist will pretend to be the Jewish Messiah is popular but lacks a sound scriptural foundation. Daniel's prophecies portray him as the enemy of the Jews, forcing his way into the temple. There's no indication he will be accepted by the Jews. If he will be an ethnic Jew remains to be seen. Dan 11,38 says: "he will honor a god of fortresses, a god whom his fathers did not know".
@roblesd1 This verse is often used about the Antichrist, but there is no evidence for thinking that. He may even have been referring to Bar Kokhba or someone similar.
@MrRunningwolfe I have had the same thought based on prophecies made by Jacob/Israel over his sons in Genesis 49. Look at this one made about the tribe of Dan and the statement made afterwards:
"Dan shall be a serpent in the way, a horned snake in the path, that bites the horse's heels, so that his rider falls backward."
@MrRunningwolfe It's a possibility. The first beast in Rev 13 (the Antichrist) arises from the sea (the waters of which are Gentile nations according to Rev 17). The second beast in Rev 13 (the false prophet) arises from the earth. This *could* be an indication that he will not arise from among the Gentiles (the sea) meaning he is of Jewish descent. As boltingpuppies conveyed in a comment that someone wrongly flagged as spam - We'll just have to see what happens. Time will tell.
@roblesd1 The idea that the Antichrist will be Jewish and will be accepted by the nation of Israel as their Messiah, is a popular one, but lacks a sound Scriptural base. The Bible portrays the Antichrist as an enemy of the nation of Israel, who will attempt to destroy the Jews. He will be scheming and deceitful, but there is no real evidence of him feigning himself as their Messiah.
Well done. I'm glad more people are teaching this. It's important to realize who was being talked about in Daniel 9. The passage has been misunderstood for so long that it's hard to get people to understand what it is actually saying.
@Strefanasha I think it matters which direction believers are looking concerning the Antichrist. I'm afraid many will be taken off guard when they finally realize who the Antichrist is. Many will have followed those who in vain have been proposing his place of origin based on popular yet mistaken eschatology, even naming him in loads of YT videos...
@arovir to be honest I have mostly concerned myself with other matters, namely righteousness before an angry God, for i am a fearful legalist. I got my endtime doctrine from Hal Lindsywhen i read his book the year i was converted, 1978, and have only abandoned his ideas by stages.
you could be right on this one, though i honestly do not think so. but then law and grace is my special interest.
i think we shall see. i'llcertainly watch for the temple rebuild, that is something i cant dispute
I think there is a genuine ambiguity in the phrase "people of the prince to come"
you take the line "a descendant of the soldiers who did the destroying"
but the prince who destroyed the temple in 70 was definitely a roman . Titus of the Flavian House, and later Emperor.
your line is not necessarily disproven but i dont think it proven either . the prince was Titus, his people (his ethnicity) were roman. this is another reading of the text
@Strefanasha Dan 9,27 says "he" (pointing back to the coming prince in v.26) will put a stop to sacrifice and offering in the middle of the last week. This is still future. The coming prince obviously cannot be referring to Titus back in the 1st century. The text says the people (of the prince to come who will put a stop to sacrifice in the middle of the week) destroyed the temple in 70 AD. This tells me the coming prince will descend from the middle-eastern conscripts who destroyed the temple.
A lot of people still do not know who is the anti-christ although it is very clear in the Bible with lots of hints. They keep on mistakenly labelling people and personas. FYI, the anti-christ is both a RELIGIOUS and POLITICAL power and not a single person. The one who corrupted the teachings to the true path of Christhood so that people cannot attain Christ consciousness. Guess who? --> Search this word in Google: "characteristics of the anti-christ" click 1st & 3rd link. You'll be surprised!!
@BritonAgainstIslam The text of Daniel 9 indicates the Antichrist will descend from the people who destroyed the temple in Jerusalem in 70 AD. The recruits in the legions that besieged Jerusalem were Syrians, Arabs and Turks. They were not European. Therefore the Antichrist will not be European.
Btw, because the people of the Near East spoke Greek long ago due to the conquests of Alexander the Great, does not make them Greek. That's like saying since I speak English that makes me American!?
@boltingpuppies It's encouraging to know we both see the same thing in Daniel 9. The passage in question has been pulled in many different directions, resulting in utter confusion. It is vital that a correct understanding be unearthed because it concerns the last days which are upon us. Thank you for confirming what the passage says! Blessings to you in our Lord Jesus. May He continue to give you insight and enlightenment in His precious Word.
Now let me ask this.Doesnt prince in 9:26 refer back to Messiah or him?How else would the writer expect us ot know ? And wasnt this war called the Revolt of Jews?
So it possible saying they destroy city? Possible i mean.
Also so many refer to messiah as the prince. this could be where people are gettign confussed. Also the covenant with the many.Is there anythign else biblical that shows that covenant is with jews? Or is many term all we have?
@EastEndWatcher Dan 9,27 concerns the one who will make a future 7 year covenant. The pronoun 'he' here can only refer back to the last mentioned male figure which is the prince in the previous verse. Therefore the prince will make the future 7 year covenant. This is not the Messiah.
The revolt of the Jews ended with the destruction of the temple and the city of Jerusalem by the eastern Roman legions in 70 AD. The Jews tried unsuccessfully to defend the city and the temple.
I view it as you do it video.Just try make sure .As the verse has always bugged me. The covenant with many. Its there other verses that back up its with israel. Or could it possible be a covenant made by israel. what kind of covenant?are we sure. Or could possible be confirm the old covenant in some type of way. Allow build temple etc
@EastEndWatcher Besides Is 28,15 it's obvious the covenant involves Israel because when it's broken after 3 1/2 years the temple service is stopped - Dan 9,27. The covenant / pact seems therefore to involve the new temple - either it's rebuilding or it's service - if the temple has already been built. Jesus refers to the act that breaks the covenant in the end time just before His return (Matt 24,15ff) even mentioning the Holy Place which relates to the temple.
@arovir Heres something else that puzzles me.The worship of beast(antichrist) and his Image. The image is set up in the temple. And Antichrist there. If people are worship the image. That may be strong evidence that links to a false accepted messiah. The delusion talked about. Those who dont get mark are in Christ and many die.Great trib. This is troubling to me.Even if the antichrist is not jewish .It seems there is some type worship there by the people could be a possibillity what u think?
@EastEndWatcher Yes there will be a lot of worship. After the healing of one of the beast's heads Rev 13,3f says: "And the whole earth was amazed and followed after the beast; they WORSHIPED the dragon because he gave his authority to the beast; and they WORSHIPED the beast, saying, 'Who is like the beast, and who is able to wage war with him?'"
In v.15 the 2nd beast (false prophet) causes "as many as do not WORSHIP the image of the beast to be killed". The voluntary worship becomes mandatory.
Acts 5:30,7:32,12:17,22:14,24:14 .and his fathers only in act 13:36.All these have similar verses.I cant find 1 that doesnt refer to Jesus one only god. Im just search fro truth. Not claiming anything at all.Just these questions stil need answered.
@EastEndWatcher The actual phrase "God of his fathers" occurs 5 times, once in 2 Kings, four times in 2 Chron. The other references say "our fathers" & "your fathers" etc. All these references do point to the supreme God - Yahweh.
@eddienickels1 In one of my early videos I mentioned what Jesus said in John 6 about his people being resurrected on the last day. What Jesus taught in this chapter pinpoints the timing of the gathering of His people since their resurrection happens when they are gathered to Christ. I agree, it's worth doing a video on this. Maybe I'll get back to it one day... (before the last day...!)
@EastEndWatcher Ancient Syria was only a part of what once was the Assyrian Empire. This empire encompassed all of the landmass of Syria, Iraq & Lebanon, parts of Iran & Turkey as well as much of Israel & Egypt.
The borders of ancient Syria fluctuated somewhat. At times it encompassed Lebanon, and stretched into Turkey & Jordan. There are even some maps that show the land of Israel and the city of Jerusalem within the boundaries of 'old Syria'.
@arovir Here is something that bothers me. Daniel 11:37 .God of his fathers. IF you search that exact text in the entire bible. You find it used For our Lord Jesus.Every time i think.Thos exact words. He may be of jewish descent Living in north turkey or syria. How else can or would the jews allow him to sit in temple if he wasnt .But the verse gof of his fathers is easy to miss as a clue. But i dunno .Just something that bothers me that is hard to understand.Could it apply he could be?
@EastEndWatcher The exact phrase 'God of his fathers' (KJV) is also found in 2 Kings & 2 Chronicles with reference to Yahweh. The same phrase in Dan 11,37 may carry the same meaning, although many other translations read "god/gods of his fathers/ancestors" thus not referring to Yahweh.
As for the Jews letting the Antichrist sit in the temple - there isn't anything in the references to this act to suggest he will be allowed. On the contrary Dan 11,31 says he will come to Jerusalem with "forces"!
@arovir so the possibilty of the god of his fathers.Would mean its possible. And also the verse that says they belived a lie. Seems to be some evidence of this. The false prophet puts his image up. And people worship him.If its in the temple thats in jeruslaem. That mean or possible that they proclaim a messiah.Jesus said also you except another but not me. But its very hard to tell from just what we have. maybe hes from syria turkey and differnt nationality.
@EastEndWatcher If we stick with the KJV translation of Dan 11,37 the ac can be a long assimilated diaspora Jew who has rejected his forefathers faith. He identifies himself with the people in the area where he lives and becomes the final enemy of the Jews. But if we follow many of the newer translations he is projected as a non-Jew who abandons the religion of his forefathers. In any case we are told: "But instead he will honor a god of fortresses, a god whom his fathers did not know" v.38.
Hi sir,First off very well dont and spoken video and done to help clearly understand a widely misinterpreted passage. It can be confussing and used wrongly easily.
Now some questions sir. Not saying im right at all or is this my belief.
Some use Christ as the prince here. What rules it out 100 percent.
And next daniel 11.Where do you think the antichrist appears what verse. And what video or webpage or thing do you feel best describes the timeline from start to finish.
@EastEndWatcher What rules out Christ being 'the prince who is to come' is that Gabriel said 'the people of the prince who is to come' was going to destroy the temple - after the cutting off of the Messiah. Since it wasn't the people of Christ who destroyed the temple in 70 AD we can be 100% sure the prince to come is not Christ.
It seems the Antichrist is visible from Dan 11,21 overlapping the prophecy of Antiochus IV.
If you mean the timeline of Daniel 11 Blueletter Bible has some ok links.
@arovir What do mean by overlapping? It applies to both antiochus and Antichrist in similar or exact same way? Ive seen churches by way teach the christ thing. Christian ones. Maybe in another video down road good to show how this is ruled out as well. Briefly to help others i mean. When your on subject .
The Ezkiel 38 :1 Land of magog. So the antichrist land is from descendents of japeth.magog his son.Meshech and Tubal is Turkey they think. Ark landed in that area?Correct me on any this
@EastEndWatcher The prophecy about Antiochus IV of Syria in Dan 11,21ff merges with that of the Antichrist whose demise is seen in the last verse of Dan 11. Where the prophecy of Antiochus ends and where the prophecy of Antichrist begins is debatable. Much seems to suggest that the whole prophecy concerning Antiochus also applies to the Antichrist, which is extended with material exclusive to Antichrist.
Yes, Meshech & Tubal are in Turkey. And yes, the Ark landed in that vicinity.
Anybody who actually reads and studies the bible, will know that the roman empire, is the modern day Roman Catholic church. And every thing that Daniel and Revelation said, fits them. The Anti Christ/Beast will be revive roman/Pope/Roman Emperor
@Jerz1983 Ok. You say, "Anybody who actually reads and studies the bible, will know..." That means you are insinuating I don't actually read and study the Bible. Time will tell who has *actually* read and studied.... :)
@arovir Wow somebody got a offended over nothing, cause I wasn't even talking about u. I was just stating for the viewers that anyone who reads daniel, or revelations will know that "AntiChrist" has alot of ties with the Roman Empire/Roman Catholic Church
@Jerz1983 Of course you were talking about me! You posted a comment on *my* video, lol. Now if you had offended me I would not have ended my reply with a :) would I?
I want to counter what you say about the Catholic Church having "a lot of ties" with "Antichrist". The historical Roman Catholic church has indeed been antichristian in that it has persecuted the true Church of Christ, yet it has not denied the Father and the Son as the apostle John says the Antichrist will do (1 John 2,22).
@arovir R u kidding me right now? They deny the son. And what does the bible say about denying the son? And as for the father, the Pope says that he IS THE FATHER. He says that he is God on earth. The Catholics but Mary above Jesus, but really, its rooted in Roman paganism for their Mother of Heaven. Daniel says he will change Times and Laws, the Romans chages THE LAWS OF YAH, and the ceasers changed the calendars, which is "TIMES" I can go on and on.
@Jerz1983 1 John 2,22 says antichrist denies (gr. rejects) that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God and denies / rejects God as the Father of Jesus Christ. The opposite of 'denying' is 'acknowledging' which v.23 talks about. To 'acknowledge' the Son is to confess Him. Even though the Catholic Church has some abominable doctrines centered around the Pope and Mary, it still confesses Jesus as the Son of God. The changing in Dan 7,25 is still future so forget ancient Romans and ceasers long dead.
@Jerz1983 Btw, when you started commenting it was obvious to me you were going against what I have presented in my video. A constructive comment from you would be to point out why you don't agree with my interpretation of Daniel 9, not go off onto something else. You have to point out exactly what is wrong with the video. It doesn't help "changing" the subject. Ok?
maybe...speculative verse theology...scriptures interpret themselves..good study but a few errors, when you speak of scriptures, do not ever interpret , unless using scripture to do so as scripture interprets itself...do not add or take away...
@rolling422 I made this third video about the origin of the Antichrist because it is supportive of the other two in that the Antichrist will arise in the Middle East. I can't see what is so speculative about my verse theology!? Have you any better idea? :) Oh, and yes, of course Scripture does interpret Scripture. That's the whole point. But I can't see how I'm adding to Scripture by referring to history. Already fulfilled prophecy can help us interpret prophecy that is yet unfulfilled.
It is my understanding that the antichrist will be Jewish. We know the Jews will receive him (John 5:43).

EastEndWatcher 5 months ago
@EastEndWatcher Well done i meant sorry first part.
EastEndWatcher 5 months ago
@EastEndWatcher What rules out Christ being 'the prince who is to come' is that Gabriel said 'the people of the prince who is to come' was going to destroy the temple - after the cutting off of the Messiah. Since it wasn't the people of Christ who destroyed the temple in 70 AD we can be 100% sure the prince to come is not Christ.
It seems the Antichrist is visible from Dan 11,21 overlapping the prophecy of Antiochus IV.
If you mean the timeline of Daniel 11 Blueletter Bible has some ok links.
arovir 5 months ago
@arovir What do mean by overlapping? It applies to both antiochus and Antichrist in similar or exact same way? Ive seen churches by way teach the christ thing. Christian ones. Maybe in another video down road good to show how this is ruled out as well. Briefly to help others i mean. When your on subject .
The Ezkiel 38 :1 Land of magog. So the antichrist land is from descendents of japeth.magog his son.Meshech and Tubal is Turkey they think. Ark landed in that area?Correct me on any this
EastEndWatcher 5 months ago

Jerz1983 6 months ago
@Jerz1983 Ok. You say, "Anybody who actually reads and studies the bible, will know..." That means you are insinuating I don't actually read and study the Bible. Time will tell who has *actually* read and studied.... :)
arovir 6 months ago
@arovir Wow somebody got a offended over nothing, cause I wasn't even talking about u. I was just stating for the viewers that anyone who reads daniel, or revelations will know that "AntiChrist" has alot of ties with the Roman Empire/Roman Catholic Church
Jerz1983 6 months ago
@Jerz1983 Of course you were talking about me! You posted a comment on *my* video, lol. Now if you had offended me I would not have ended my reply with a :) would I?
I want to counter what you say about the Catholic Church having "a lot of ties" with "Antichrist". The historical Roman Catholic church has indeed been antichristian in that it has persecuted the true Church of Christ, yet it has not denied the Father and the Son as the apostle John says the Antichrist will do (1 John 2,22).
:)
arovir 6 months ago
@arovir R u kidding me right now? They deny the son. And what does the bible say about denying the son? And as for the father, the Pope says that he IS THE FATHER. He says that he is God on earth. The Catholics but Mary above Jesus, but really, its rooted in Roman paganism for their Mother of Heaven. Daniel says he will change Times and Laws, the Romans chages THE LAWS OF YAH, and the ceasers changed the calendars, which is "TIMES" I can go on and on.
Jerz1983 6 months ago

Ok?

maybe...speculative verse theology...scriptures interpret themselves..good study but a few errors, when you speak of scriptures, do not ever interpret , unless using scripture to do so as scripture interprets itself...do not add or take away...
rolling422 6 months ago
@rolling422 I made this third video about the origin of the Antichrist because it is supportive of the other two in that the Antichrist will arise in the Middle East. I can't see what is so speculative about my verse theology!? Have you any better idea? :) Oh, and yes, of course Scripture does interpret Scripture. That's the whole point. But I can't see how I'm adding to Scripture by referring to history. Already fulfilled prophecy can help us interpret prophecy that is yet unfulfilled.

very good and I agree! :o)
And you actually helped me answer a question that someone sent to me tonight. So thank you. :o)
See how God works. Ain't it great? :o)
