I really liked this video a few years ago, when the original song was behind it. I found the song, muted the video, and played it behind the video. I then repeated, and repeated and repeated, and repeated...

@jinkloPelipinklo Man i wish the vid was still intact but because of copyright i had to do that youtube audioswap thing....unfortunately it only lets you choose from a short list, none as good as the roadrunner track which the vid was made to sync with
You'll all think I'm an idiot but I listened to the audio books (in this order): VII The Dark Tower; III The Waste Lands; and I just got VI Song of Susannah. I really intend to eventually find the book versions of all and read from start to finish - they're so good! I've also heard rumours that the creator of the TV show "Lost" may be working on a "Dark Tower" TV series or movie!
Oh dear God no! That would be awful! Seriously, The Dark Tower has a plot, I don't want to see the creators of Lost turning this art into a piece of shit series.
Stephen King said himself the best way for the dark tower to be adapted would have been to adapt it as an HBO series, the primary issue is that, JJ abrams, the creator of LOST, Alias, and Felicity, and he also directed Star Trek wanted to make the dark tower into 7 films however he stated that it took 6 years to make LOST and they had to struggle with network issues, he said he didn't want to tackle 7 years of this series and possibly ruin it.
To this day I am still a fan of Blaine the Mono. There's just something about him and the city of Lud that sticks with me. Probably because they are monuments to the world far before it moved on, as well as a standing reminder of what humanity did to itself in the centuries before the age of Gilead.
Before, I thought the first book was the weakest of the series (It wasn't even that bad actually, just the quality of the others was so much greater).
Having just finished Song of Susannah a few hours ago, I'd have to agree with your opinion. I like the fourth book the best so far, personally. I just started on the last book. Looks promising.
The Drawing of the Three is (so far) my second favourite book in the series. You really get a sense that the characters are struggling their way through the story. Plus, the entire section with Roland and Jack Mort is beyond awesome.

Hey, In 1.10 this city looks just like Singapore! Photoshopped off course(this bridge, strange things on water)... Did you used it intentionally, or incidentally?
But video is great! Music greatly match to te story. Congrats!
By the way, what didn't you like in book five? Six was a bit overdone (and underdone in a few spots), but 5 was still a clasic action flick like the others. Wasn't it?
It was too predicatble; It was evident from early that the the wolves were robots, that Andy was a spy/double crosser and that something was going on with Susannah. The introduction of too many new themes and jargon which seemed to have great importance but had no earlier mention, like the commola. It wasn't a bad book, but it felt like he was working with a deadline, it didn't flow.
There were too many coincidences (Ka at work) as well. Nothing wrong with coinciedences mind you, his works are reft with them; eg. The Stand, It, Insomnia etc The right thing happening at the right time. But when it happened in those books, you felt it happened because it should happen. When it happened in books five through seven, you felt Stephen"s hand in there. That was one of the things that pissed me off. I don't want to be concious of the writer, just the work.
That doesn't mean i don't love Stephen, i do, he is the man, but i read fiction to escape reality not be reminded of it. His inclusion of himself in it also kinda threw me off. I also expected to see Pennywise the clown, the turtle and a host of others on the different levels of the tower, instead it felt as threadbare and as empty as Gilead after the Good Man
Granted. However, you have to accept the fact that Roland and his Ka-Tet are not pacing through the whole...well, megaverse. They're just cutting through the quickest path the centre of existence. The things they see are just ghosts and remnants of lost civilization, not pre-planed plotlines that'll be cleared up later.
And as for the thread bare Tower? What did you expect? For all the bad guys and good guys to jump out and have some kind of cataclysmic super-battle? In retrospect, the Tower was a bit disapointing, but what do you expect? Roland saw the Tower as a reflection of his life (portrayed by the many siguls) and walked through his quests and mistakes to his doom. Poetic, in not a tad anti-climactic.
The Tower wasn't the pinnacle of adventure I foresaw, but I guess it's the journy that counts. Throughout the series, you see the Tower as an untouchable source of chaos, never to be reckoned with. Climbing it was somewhat lacking in the amzement department, but it did make sense. Ya just gotta live with what comes up.
Hey man, i think the journey was the most important thing of all. That is why i cherish books 1-4, but as they got closer the sense of wonder at the majesty, history and grandeur that was Roland's world disappeared. It became lost instead in some twisted look at "our world". That is part of what spoilt it for me. The loss of romance i felt when Roland's world as nightmarish as it may have been coverged with ours. Not hintingly as when Eddie crossed over, but full on.
Look i wasn't expecting anything of the sort. What i was expecting was a representation of theTower that was created from book one. This tower seemed as hollow as the ending, too centered around Roland and while i know that the two were inextricably linked, the Tower should have been more than that. The visions that he saw when talking with Marten/Walter/Randall showed that.
If he had skipped the journey to the Tower and instead given us the account of what took place at the fall of Gilead, the battle at Jericho Hill and the years after, Man now that would have kicked ass. The taheens and vampires, New York and the rest of that crap could have sucked my wang for all i care, that is what would have made the difference for me.
too true. the switching between worlds is a bit sidetracking, but that fact that it makes our existence so transparent is what gives it impact. King must've know some people would get miffed, but he leaned into "reality" to settle the score. let's just agree to disagree on that one.
Dude i respect the creative license any artist takes with their creations, but i feel if Stephen King from 20 years ago was able to read what he wrote in books 6-7, he would go forward in time and bitch slap himself.
And I do agree that King should have given a deeper acount into the years after the fall of Gilead. But the new york crap was the only feasible path. King stepped into our world in book 2, in order to retrieve Eddie, therefore the connections and conclusions in our world were essential; the vampires were a tad cliche though
I also said that since the Tower is the linchpin, there is a good chance that we might see Stu and Frannie again. Well we didn't see them but we did see their world. But as for ending in NY, i nrespect your point, but i think a quick site seeing tour would have been good like in book 2. Been good talking to a fellow fan (even if from another point of view)
I fully expected him to come to our world and even the world of the Stand. I told someone about ten years ago tha the Stand had to be an alternate world since all his books were related.
Same here. It's always good mix opinions with someone else. We've kind of drawn out a conversation on this guy's movie for about 4 days now, so i'm surprised he hasn't asked us to take it outside, lol. Long days, pleasent nights.
yeah, I thought about that. in retrospect, that was kind of a lame aspect, throwing the deux ex machina and all. at least King confessed to doing that.
To be fair, Stephen King being in the story kind of spoiled a bit of it. In a story like that, you want action, you want magic, and you want to lose reality. King kind of grounded you back into reality, which may have been because people wrote and said that if the series ever ended they'd slit their wrists, on acount of losing their purpose in life. I know that I've spent some years of my life orbiting the Dark Tower.
PLEASE DON'T READ THIS. You will get kissed on the nearest possible Friday by the love of your life. Tomorrow will be the best day of your life. However, if you don't post this comment to at least 3 videos, you will die within 2 days. Copy and paste this, to be saved
Excellent Work! brings back alot of great memories, i'm getting ready to read the tower series for a 3rd time, i usually read it once a year, still don't know how people can say it was the worst ending possible, considering the themes that are covered (honestly from the subtitle of the first book people should've seen it coming) but i suppose people have a right to their opinions no matter how benign they may be, none the less excellent work with the pictures and the song fit excellently!
I hate to disagree, but after all the sacrifce, the deaths, Utopia lost; Stephen owed it to the fans and especially to Roland man. Books 1-4 were great 5-6 streched and a bit overdone, could have been edited down by 40% and not lost the falvor. Book 7 toilet paper.
Bro, that was THE greatest series ever written, sure, he killed like all of my fav. characters and the end wasn't wat I expected, but until YOU write a series that great you can just shut the hell up, besides, even if wat Roland got at the top of the tower was a sumwat odd punishment, that just means that the series will never TRULY be over, at least Roland's quest won't be...and I'm am just fine w/ that.
Ka is a wheel, it always comes back to the same point at which it started
Uh excuse me, I am sorry but when was it made a crime to express ones opinion freely? As a fan who has all his books i think that entitles me to make comments on the merits or lack thereof. I didn't realize one had to be a best selling writer to know whether something was good or bad. It took him twenty seven years to do the first four books and less than seven to finish the last three. I call that hurried. But then the causes we serve are different neh. Causarum justia et misericordia
Of course you have a right to your opinion, but you have to admit, the ending was a brutal execusion of fate. Whether or not King finished it in seven years is irrelevent, the fact is that inspiration comes and goes, and his concept of the perfect ending was with the never ending wheel. By the way, forgive my ignorance, but what does Causarum justia et misericorida mean?
Ok my prob with the ending 1. If he is being punished for choosing the tower over his friends, what if he decides to save Jake the next time around rather than pursue the man in black. What happens to the Tower then?
2. If the Tower can continually send him back into the past, then there is no real "Fate" is there. Ka maybe a wheel, but it seems to be a roulette wheel fixed by the house. Don't get me wrong, this is one of my favorites, but it stops at book four for me.
Ok firstly don't get me wrong, i think this is one of the greatest series ever and nothing, except for Frank Herberts Dune has captured my imagination more. But that ending man, i felt like i had been shot, stabbed, boiled in oil. I waited a decade and a half for that?So forgive me for sounding peeved.
good point. But I don't think that someone so dramtically morose as Stephen King ever intended to give poor old Roland a good finish. Life ain't fair, and by sacrificing his soul (whether or not his quest was to save everyone else's) he made his own damnation. I know the predicament may suck, but still, it was a drastically cruel and enticing finale. I do repect your point though.
no i think the song fits the video perfect! i dont really find it cheesey, its just with the dark tower imagery being so dark i think this song went well with it.
T'was very good, aye so it was. Just wish i knew where some of the artwork came from cos some of it wasnt in the books i.e the pic from strut that jake falls from; "Go then, there are other worlds than these"
movie... hmm... would be great if done correctly... doubt itll ever happen though. its alright either way because the books will always have a special place in my heart, movie or not. and for everyone who wants a DT movie really bad, lets remember what roland himself would say to that: "There'll be water if God wills it"
Very nice collage... The lyrics seem very appropriate for the Dark Tower series. Some of those pics you used still give me the shivers (lobstrosities specifically) :)
Well who would of thought the lord of the rings could of been done so well as a movie? I say the DT movies would be cool ONLY if they stay true to the books and if they cant do that.. dont bother cuz you'l ruin one of the greatest tales ever told.
Hey im as big a DT junkie as the next guy, but a movie would suck and they would leave out to much. A series of books that fucking crazy, has to be done right and in full. I say...HBO??? Twelve episodes a season! Oh yeah! by the way....who the fuck sings this song? Long days and pleasent nights biiiiitches
I really liked this video a few years ago, when the original song was behind it. I found the song, muted the video, and played it behind the video. I then repeated, and repeated and repeated, and repeated...

That was good Stephen King is such a good writer I love the Dark tower series
ziggurat7 5 years ago
By the way, what didn't you like in book five? Six was a bit overdone (and underdone in a few spots), but 5 was still a clasic action flick like the others. Wasn't it?
Lavitz1530 5 years ago
It was too predicatble; It was evident from early that the the wolves were robots, that Andy was a spy/double crosser and that something was going on with Susannah. The introduction of too many new themes and jargon which seemed to have great importance but had no earlier mention, like the commola. It wasn't a bad book, but it felt like he was working with a deadline, it didn't flow.
gaiusscipio 5 years ago
There were too many coincidences (Ka at work) as well. Nothing wrong with coinciedences mind you, his works are reft with them; eg. The Stand, It, Insomnia etc The right thing happening at the right time. But when it happened in those books, you felt it happened because it should happen. When it happened in books five through seven, you felt Stephen"s hand in there. That was one of the things that pissed me off. I don't want to be concious of the writer, just the work.
gaiusscipio 5 years ago
That doesn't mean i don't love Stephen, i do, he is the man, but i read fiction to escape reality not be reminded of it. His inclusion of himself in it also kinda threw me off. I also expected to see Pennywise the clown, the turtle and a host of others on the different levels of the tower, instead it felt as threadbare and as empty as Gilead after the Good Man
gaiusscipio 5 years ago
Lavitz1530 5 years ago
And as for the thread bare Tower? What did you expect? For all the bad guys and good guys to jump out and have some kind of cataclysmic super-battle? In retrospect, the Tower was a bit disapointing, but what do you expect? Roland saw the Tower as a reflection of his life (portrayed by the many siguls) and walked through his quests and mistakes to his doom. Poetic, in not a tad anti-climactic.
Lavitz1530 5 years ago
The Tower wasn't the pinnacle of adventure I foresaw, but I guess it's the journy that counts. Throughout the series, you see the Tower as an untouchable source of chaos, never to be reckoned with. Climbing it was somewhat lacking in the amzement department, but it did make sense. Ya just gotta live with what comes up.
Lavitz1530 5 years ago
Hey man, i think the journey was the most important thing of all. That is why i cherish books 1-4, but as they got closer the sense of wonder at the majesty, history and grandeur that was Roland's world disappeared. It became lost instead in some twisted look at "our world". That is part of what spoilt it for me. The loss of romance i felt when Roland's world as nightmarish as it may have been coverged with ours. Not hintingly as when Eddie crossed over, but full on.
gaiusscipio 5 years ago
Look i wasn't expecting anything of the sort. What i was expecting was a representation of theTower that was created from book one. This tower seemed as hollow as the ending, too centered around Roland and while i know that the two were inextricably linked, the Tower should have been more than that. The visions that he saw when talking with Marten/Walter/Randall showed that.
gaiusscipio 5 years ago
If he had skipped the journey to the Tower and instead given us the account of what took place at the fall of Gilead, the battle at Jericho Hill and the years after, Man now that would have kicked ass. The taheens and vampires, New York and the rest of that crap could have sucked my wang for all i care, that is what would have made the difference for me.
gaiusscipio 5 years ago
too true. the switching between worlds is a bit sidetracking, but that fact that it makes our existence so transparent is what gives it impact. King must've know some people would get miffed, but he leaned into "reality" to settle the score. let's just agree to disagree on that one.
Lavitz1530 5 years ago
Dude i respect the creative license any artist takes with their creations, but i feel if Stephen King from 20 years ago was able to read what he wrote in books 6-7, he would go forward in time and bitch slap himself.
gaiusscipio 5 years ago
haha. touché
Lavitz1530 5 years ago
And I do agree that King should have given a deeper acount into the years after the fall of Gilead. But the new york crap was the only feasible path. King stepped into our world in book 2, in order to retrieve Eddie, therefore the connections and conclusions in our world were essential; the vampires were a tad cliche though
Lavitz1530 5 years ago
I also said that since the Tower is the linchpin, there is a good chance that we might see Stu and Frannie again. Well we didn't see them but we did see their world. But as for ending in NY, i nrespect your point, but i think a quick site seeing tour would have been good like in book 2. Been good talking to a fellow fan (even if from another point of view)
gaiusscipio 5 years ago
I fully expected him to come to our world and even the world of the Stand. I told someone about ten years ago tha the Stand had to be an alternate world since all his books were related.

Lavitz1530 5 years ago
I meant to ask you. When the kid rubbed out the crimson king couldn't he have painted susan legs? Man that pissed me off too
gaiusscipio 5 years ago
yeah, I thought about that. in retrospect, that was kind of a lame aspect, throwing the deux ex machina and all. at least King confessed to doing that.
Lavitz1530 5 years ago
Whoa! never thought of that!
Sehanort 4 years ago
Good job missing the entire point of that scene, bro.
Recreant456 4 years ago
To be fair, Stephen King being in the story kind of spoiled a bit of it. In a story like that, you want action, you want magic, and you want to lose reality. King kind of grounded you back into reality, which may have been because people wrote and said that if the series ever ended they'd slit their wrists, on acount of losing their purpose in life. I know that I've spent some years of my life orbiting the Dark Tower.

Wiseguy2420 5 years ago
I hate to disagree, but after all the sacrifce, the deaths, Utopia lost; Stephen owed it to the fans and especially to Roland man. Books 1-4 were great 5-6 streched and a bit overdone, could have been edited down by 40% and not lost the falvor. Book 7 toilet paper.
gaiusscipio 5 years ago
Bro, that was THE greatest series ever written, sure, he killed like all of my fav. characters and the end wasn't wat I expected, but until YOU write a series that great you can just shut the hell up, besides, even if wat Roland got at the top of the tower was a sumwat odd punishment, that just means that the series will never TRULY be over, at least Roland's quest won't be...and I'm am just fine w/ that.
Ka is a wheel, it always comes back to the same point at which it started
nikolastynan 5 years ago
Uh excuse me, I am sorry but when was it made a crime to express ones opinion freely? As a fan who has all his books i think that entitles me to make comments on the merits or lack thereof. I didn't realize one had to be a best selling writer to know whether something was good or bad. It took him twenty seven years to do the first four books and less than seven to finish the last three. I call that hurried. But then the causes we serve are different neh. Causarum justia et misericordia
gaiusscipio 5 years ago
Of course you have a right to your opinion, but you have to admit, the ending was a brutal execusion of fate. Whether or not King finished it in seven years is irrelevent, the fact is that inspiration comes and goes, and his concept of the perfect ending was with the never ending wheel. By the way, forgive my ignorance, but what does Causarum justia et misericorida mean?
Lavitz1530 5 years ago
Ok my prob with the ending 1. If he is being punished for choosing the tower over his friends, what if he decides to save Jake the next time around rather than pursue the man in black. What happens to the Tower then?
2. If the Tower can continually send him back into the past, then there is no real "Fate" is there. Ka maybe a wheel, but it seems to be a roulette wheel fixed by the house. Don't get me wrong, this is one of my favorites, but it stops at book four for me.
gaiusscipio 5 years ago
Ok firstly don't get me wrong, i think this is one of the greatest series ever and nothing, except for Frank Herberts Dune has captured my imagination more. But that ending man, i felt like i had been shot, stabbed, boiled in oil. I waited a decade and a half for that?So forgive me for sounding peeved.
gaiusscipio 5 years ago
As for "Causarum justia et misericorida" it means "For the causes of Justice and mercy"
gaiusscipio 5 years ago
Lavitz1530 5 years ago
I agree. Good series. End of discussion.

Well who would of thought the lord of the rings could of been done so well as a movie? I say the DT movies would be cool ONLY if they stay true to the books and if they cant do that.. dont bother cuz you'l ruin one of the greatest tales ever told.
zRaveNz 5 years ago
i don't want a dark tower movie.
anyway, Clint Eastwood is now too old to play Roland and no one can be a Roland in this world.
Maybe there'll some good fits but no one will be like him.
i don't want no movie, no series no nothing. they must leave this saga to us.

Hey im as big a DT junkie as the next guy, but a movie would suck and they would leave out to much. A series of books that fucking crazy, has to be done right and in full. I say...HBO???
