  • not bad, but seems a bit clunky

  • fuck, this looks fun! i love this type of view on aerial shooters as opposed to the kind that r-type and gradius have...phalanx pwns them all though

  • those 6 dislikes are the same ppl who couldnt pass this level lol

  • The Genesis version is better for sure!

  • help ican't find a rom version of this that works

  • @darkdragonforever

Same here, I've tried a few sites but for some reason the roms don't work. The only that's worked is the Genesis one.

  • This game is the best title for the SNES....period. XD

  • grew up playing this game..classic

  • What difficulty is this on? its been a while sonce i played but it looks really easy now.

  • me an my cousin would always play this game i likes the blue power better

  • I've been trying to find the name of this game for the last like 10 years, Me and my friend played this as kids all the time. It's the SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!! Thanks for the post!

  • All i can say is, RAD!

  • Man , Snes's Raiden seems pretty Difficult compare with the PS1 one...

Snes Version = No Credits for Continue

PS1 Version - Arcade Conversation with Unlimited Credits to Continue.

  • There wasn't a PSX around in 1991, so that comment is truth, but a bit unfair. =)

  • The PSX version is kinda of a cheat: It's in fact the original rom running emulated. That's why it's literally arcade perfect. Neither Megadrive or SNES could coupe tiehthe CPU speed needed topull off an arcade perfect port. Good times... =)

  • the music is just fucking epic

  • Grew up loving this game. it has the best music ever for it

  • Atari Jaguar graphics look like it's 64 bit

  • TarenAlanShaw

    are you certain

    Atari Jaguar

    isn't 64-bit ?

  • Atari Jaguar is made up of a

    32 bit graphics processor

    64 bit object processor

  • Jaguar has 32 bit & 64 bit processors

  • <3 i beat this game millions of times : )

  • oh god, that was orgasmic.

  • Genesis/Mega-Drive = inferior

SNES = superior audio & graphics

Jaguar best port because it's 64-bit

  • Genesis/Megadrive= Faster game

SNES= Superior audio and graphics but Is equal to my 90 year old grandma walking uphill.

Jaguar is not exactly 64 bit, look it up.

  • In my honest opinion:

    MD: Fastest port

    SNES: Has the best GFX

    Jag: Don't even go there.

  • @MattTheSpratt Arcade: The best

  • Loved the music for this game

  • Not only is the Mega Drive version better, it's also the most difficult port made for home consoles at the time.

  • I used to love this game. He he, good times.

  • the snes port looks pretty crap compared to segas

  • Its so true, and the music is way shittier, the tone of the sounds on the other is way better.

  • Which is downright unacceptable since the SNES could have done a much better port of Raiden if it was ported by Sunsoft or Capcom instead of that terrible Toei game company who also did that terrible Hokuto No Ken game.

  • @Jac2Mac Actually a company called Micronics Co. Ltd. did this game for Toei, and Shouei System Co. Ltd. did the Hokuto no Ken games for Toei-(Granted, the games' controls are very poor, but I do like Mitsuyasu Tomohisa's music for the games.)

  • I still have this game from when it first came out and when i was little i whoud always go for the blue power up but now I rely on range more then power good times good times

  • i own this original ntsc snes

    boxed

    lol

  • Because it's more powerful. :P

  • Not much. Or at least not enough to outweigh the advantages of hitting more targets at once and blocking a little fire coming your way too. Even if it did though, the sound is annoying as hell.

  • I never noticed until now, but the SNES port horrible....

  • Looks pretty good to me... sort of easy though.

  • O love looking now n a gain to see the old school game vids on you tube. This shmup is awsome of course ;)

  • OLD SCHOOL NINTENDO RULEZ!!!

  • I have this game on Atari Jaguar.Jaguar's graphics and sound on this game are arcade perfect. This one looks ok though.

  • Raiden Trad for SNES, didn't fit up to the original from Sega. The soundtrack was wrong, the sound FX were wrong as well. In raiden trad on sega, you had to build up the level of missiles (M or H). In this, you get the level 4 missiles instantly. It literally killed the fun off the game. That's why I like the Sega version better. The soundtracks fit the stages, the fx were excellent and you had to earn your weapons, which, to me enhanced gameplay!

  • @Audi134 I like both versions, but I like the music on the Genesis version better because I just love the music chip that is used on the Sega Genesis- The YM2612.

  • that blue gun rules

  • The sfx in this port are awful!

  • Best raiden game ever too.

  • the best game ever created...and some of the best music ever to be in a video game

  • You know... It's really hilarious about me playing this. Whenever I reach that crashed ship I already have max powerups for lasers and homing missles... Weird eh? It's because that [P] powerup appears.

  • Grande Raiden!

  • ummm why not play the flash game on pc??

    no disrespect

  • this one only had two weapon upgrades???

  • jogo sensacional

  • Hmmm.. The Snes version seems to give larger weapon power ups than the genesis version. It also seemed like

the bosses were significantly weaker. Raiden trad is still a great vertical shooter regardless.
