fyi. there are only 3 radar bands you idiot (X,K,Ka). POP radar is a very short burst (.067 of a second) of either K or Ka radar. and it does not have arrows the only detector that has arrows is the Valentine One. Cobras are shit. They make any other radar detector false becasue it leaks like a motherfucker. if you want a GOOD radar detector, go buy a Valentine One or an Escort Passport 9500ix

It's not good at all; it was giving me false alarms most of the time and besides it was getting too hot. I now bought the Escort Passport 9500ix radar detector and I hope it can work for me. Cheaper cobra and whistler models have poorly shielded oscillators that set off other detectors. I have tested my 9960G and my Whistler XTR-695 and confirmed that the 9960G does not set off other radar detectors, however the whistler caused my Cobra to false, probably due to its subpar filtering. Yes, the cheaper cobra platforms cause other detectors to false but not the XRS 9955/9960G. Please stop giving out misinformation.

Whether a radar detector is a piece of crap is subjective. Very well known radar enthusiasts hold the 695 in the highest of regard. I've seen the Valentine One go off when there isn't a store or tower in sight. Does that mean it's a piece of crap though? The 695's filtering is great, the 9960G's filter for cheap radar detectors is very subpar and so is its ramp up, but if you bought it for around $199 it's a great detector for the price.

I also want you to google the guys of lidar 2009 if you have the time. It will give you to some insight of how the Whistlers and Cobras compare to the big boys. They are using an older Cobra model, but Cobra still needs to improve their filtering and ramp up. Their 35.5 ka band detection could use an increase too. Even so, it isn't a bad detector. The SE series scored second right under the V1 for the Quick Trigger testing which is becoming a larger threat, especially in Texas.

It does, but it isn't effective against the Spectre. IT does a good job of picking up radar, but it is not immune to all radar detector detectors. If you want a good detector that is immune opt for the Belltronics STI Driver, the Escort 9500ci or the new escort redline that is coming out. If you use this detector where it is illegail you WILL GET CAUGHT. For the record, i'm not a biased Cobra hater, I own the 9960G and I like it a lot. I also use a Whistler xtr-695 and switch between the two. :)

Cobras are crap. They run in the same price range as Valentines or Escort but consistently perform the worst in independent tests (Guys of Lidar/etc). I upgraded from a Cobra to and Escort and never looked back. Go with a Escort or Valentine if you are considering a RD as expensive as the 9960G. Don't believe me?
