  • The people that bitch lost.

  • stupid red bull "sports"

  • @nicodanger13 You think this is just a stupid "Sport"? This is like Formula 1 racing, but +- 10 G's, at 200+ MPH, just feet off the ground. This is the most skill-involved sport in the world. Let's see you do this.

  • well thats a penalty ur not alowwed to go that low stupid!!! XD

  • i think that guy complaining that the guy should have been disqualified was a jelous prick

  • As in in many areas, things will continue until death occurs, reaction rather than action, usual thing nowadays. Now, come on, be honest, did he rally aimed to be so low? perhaps, they are amazingly skilled, but I have a doubt on that 1. There pride will make most of them lie anyway so we will never really know. They know what they are doing, same for downhill people, they know, but still one day they take one: This level of performance is achieved by surfing on a very thin line!

  • Why r they bitching. Its His Life until and unless his flying is dangerous to the spectators its all right!!!

  • balls to the wall man, it is a race and maybe he's just a better pilot, so quit bitchin

  • makes good tv and everybody likes that

  • IT IS COOL ANYWAY! He KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING!!

  • cant wait red bull air race in nyc

  • @thomas0560 So... was it good :) ???

  • crap flying try touching the water

  • what is this song?

  • i saw this on tv

  • Stop moaning European Bloke - just because someone is better than you.

  • IMHO, you're already flying 200+mph, 30 feet off the ground. The margin for error is FAR less than 99% of the world's population's flying abilities, even in a cessna. Hell, I don't fly r/c aircraft that low. I say let 'em get as low as they want to. It's their own lives at risk. Over the water, the risk to spectators is minimal.

  • Bending the laws of physics, Amazing pilot's

  • Big thrust, light weight. Still beyond cool though.

  • Alejandro Maclean is a whining pussy, trying to get rid of a competitor by any means. He and Hannes Arch are two people who are always bitching about other pilots but somehow does not seem to be able to quite get to the top themselves. Coincidence? I think not. Poor sportsmen and piss poor performers.

  • those guys from air racing...i mean wtf?!

    do they wanna die??looll

    just amaaazing

  • shit i thought it was a toy xD

  • lol that's what my friend thought when he saw a air race on tv for the first time lol.

  • @purestr8str who sais it's not a toy >.>

  • jelous asses. they were just pissed off because they couldnt do what he was doing. the man knows his vehicle. no diference in what he did and a truck driver driving down tight city streets or construction zones. you gotta know your limits and the size of the vehice your operating.

  • Saw this clip at Ps3 Home once :P dunno why it was there but it looks insane :P

  • haters hating

  • Yeah, it's jealousy alright! He's too good, so they have to DQ him.

  • Sounds like jealousy!!!

  • They're concerned about the height;not just for the pilot's safety, but for the safety of all of those that are close. That's why you disqualify him. And before you say "nothing would happen! everyone's safe!" just look and see how many air show crashes happen every year.

  • surely if he was closer to the water, and crashed, he is less likely to hit bystanders... but, any motorsport involves danger... check out world rally with the bystanders at the trackside!

  • Maclean is just a pussy.

  • Well, if the man likes to fly low, let him be! ''OHH, WHAT IF HE CRASHES??'' WHO CARES?!?! he's happy flying 10 ft off the ground! why desqualify him?

  • @RFTAEC100 maybe because this is too dangerous? you're right, its his fault, but this maverick-attitude isnt the sence here. its a sport and in every sport there are rules!

  • pilot is in peak physical condition

  • lol he blatently just fluked it, then hes like "yeah its how i fly"

  • I've been 10 ft AGL @200mph but that one looks like 1 meter WOW.........

  • the wussafication of the world just stop it if he dies he dies

  • that pilot that was bitching is a pussy and was just jealous his balls aren't big enough to pull that sick shit off,Haters are everywhere!!

  • lol ha what a faggot xl50Cal1bR3xl

  • OMG! This guy is really brave... if he hit the top of the water the plane can crash and he can die...

  • R U SERIOUS?!?!?!?! NO WAY!!!!!

  • Well no shit.

  • omfg that guy has sum sirious guts hed be fucked if his wing clipped the water

  • I love RBAR!!

  • explain yourself dumbass

  • isnt the point of the red bull flying races to fly to the absolte edge????..... the guy did a sweet job if u ask me shoulda got more points for risk factor!!!!

  • I don't understand the problem, he's only going to hurt himself if he screws up...and maybe a few fish...

  • CGI at 01:14 agreed, but the rest...so NOT a fake.

  • Looks as iff he gave it wrong rudder input when going knife edge at :01 as he almost nosed the edge in.

  • Haha, I don't think Mike Mangold puts incorrect rudder in a knifeedge...

  • RED BULL really rocks !!!!!

  • its in

     Hungary not Portugal

  • Comment removed

  • those look like rc planes

  • how do they stand the G-force?

  • man i know, its crazy. in the red bull air race they sometimes hit up to 11 G's, which is nuts!

  • dang it must kill them in the cockpit

  • but i did hear a person can only take lik 23 g's

  • can we take 23 g's?

damn i was hardly able to handle 4 or 5 when i skydived, how is 23? lol.

btw u can see vids of the air'race cockpit view, u'll see how deeply and hardly he's breathing to keep up with the G's...

  • i heard we can take 23 but i dont know if true i took at least 4 gs when someone rear ended us it wuznt very bad tho

  • Well you'll pass out long before 23Gs. The average person will likely lose consciousness between 6 and 10 but I think what he says is 23 is the max before a person can be killed from the pressure.

  • wait wait wait i heard that someone sustained over 46 gs and lived to talk about it...just sayin

  • That may be true as well. I'm not sure myself I was just clearing up the difference between experiencing 23g's and withstanding 23g's.

  • true true

  • The highest momentary g's is something like 156, Was an indycar racer I think?

  • yes we can, but you die if you do it... =P

  • wuh...dude

where do u get 4 g´s in skydiving. only the openings cant get that hard and than its more like a shock than permanently stress.

  • wondering the samething

  • That spanish guy needs to shut the hell up. What a toss. Obviously he is alive and he didn't break any rules at all, so what was wrong with that extraordinary display of flying?

  • whine whine from the others it was just excellent skill and abilities, excellent video :)

  • that guy that wants the USA guy to be kicked out is just scared.

  • anyone know how low it was

  • i would say under 20 feet if not under 10.

  • WHO's GOT BIG BALLZ!!!!!! MacLean was a pussy & has McNuggets.

  • How much are the tickets for the air race in london???? anyone know

  • Any flight, racing or not, is a good flight if you are able to walk away and return to it tomorrow!

  • i never imagined the issue of flying low in an air race....thats like running too fast in athletics...its just too strange to understand...and to see other pilots eat shit about that makes it even weirder...

  • hey they are flying dangerously OOOOO lets just shut down red bull stupids! hello the whole event is dangerous.

  • exactly mate ! i respect the low flying pilot and think the other chap doesnt like the fact that he cant do the same !

  • let the bald pilot SHUT UPP!!!! thats US AIRFORCE FOR YA PUNK!

  • lol 0:17 turn off annotations and there is no name

  • Haha I did the same thing thinking wth? haha

  • who says they want to get airline jobs anyway? there havin fun!

  • the most of these pilots are airlines captains and they are no cowboys they now what they are doing

  • You should change your name to shitbug

  • balls of titanium, brains of foam

  • they have both...

  • ROFL MUJAHIDINNN xD

  • Well done, Mike, wow factor and winning, what more does the crowd want? The baldy pilot is just jealous.

  • Flying low, while in itself can be considered dangerous, is perfectly normal, especially if you have a professional pilot behind the stick. Airshow pilots normally get low, either on knife edge, or inverted to wow the crowds. Getting low WHILE racing around and through pylons just makes it even more of a wow factor.

  • I think it's good that those who makes the competitions do consern the safety of the pilots rather than making the crowd get a so called ''wow'' feeling.

  • I'd have loved a dolphin jumpig out of da water right when his left wing goes low...errr, yes, insurance company? I got hit in mid air by a dolphin. LOL!

The reason why they are still alive, is great skills, and great ammount of luck.

  • the reason mike wasn't disqualified is as he went through the gate ( which is how they judge low flying ) he was at the right hieght. the new rules are that you are not allowed bellow the centre marking of the pylon but you can go as low as you like in between as long as you get that low in a controlled manner( eg. diving at the ground )

  • i think mike's going so low because he wanted to be faster

  • yes he went low but he cant go faster coz he went down at speed but he would of been slower climbing so it doesnt matter how low he flys

  • This is how USAF Weapons School Graduates handle a plane! Go Mike!

  • I think he's dancing on razor blades. But he knows the risks. If he wants to cut grass in an Edge540... let him. It's a relatively controlled environment. I hope he knows that if he dies... theres hundreds of other pilots willing to take his place.

There are old pilots and there are bold pilots, but there are no old bold pilots.

  • The race is young. The company that runs these races cannot afford a single tragedy. Even without deaths Red bull races are under severe critic. A crash of a plane can be the crash of business.

  • shit, we portuguese pilots can do this with airbus A 310 .

do you want to try .

  • what is too low?? lol Death is too low.

  • Someone did get DSQ'd for that at a different event, right? I vaguely remember the announcers whining about how it wasn't fair to disqualify so-and-so because of how good a pilot he was...

  • If they weren't meant to go low, i'm sure the gates would be higher. I will put money on the fact that most pilots would prefare not to ditch, especially doing in excess of 300kts.

  • its called Scud running and its Fun! but it should only be done over land.

  • you smell like ugly

  • wow i thought thought that was a rc plane at first

  • Would somebody explain what is the issue here. Im not a pilot....Thanks...Are some pilots complaining becuase MIke flew too low ? Is it cheating ?? Whats the issue ?

  • yes....just an arm's length from the wingtip touching the water. pretty low. almost instant death.

when it comes (matter of time), i know the FAA would just about shut it down in this country. i don't know about other countries.

  • I don't think they would be hurt that badly--they're not going that fast, and the plane doesn't weigh anything. Surely they have protections around the cockpit, don't they? How would it be different from an Indy car driver hitting a wall?

  • they're going an excess of 200 mph, thats quick. indy cars arent flying towards the ground also, they are just moving horizontally. there are some protections but at 250 mph it doesn't really matter.

  • yeah i agree with william i mean if you're going to hit a lake (water) then you mine as well be hitting dirt (soil)

  • Oh poor baby, Hes showing everybody up. They don't like that.

    Ha ha.

  • Seems some do not realize just how dangerous to touch the water is. Might as well hit dirt (soil) at those speeds. At NCAR we lost a research twin aircraft over lake Michigan. Only thing found was a piece of the dashboard plastic. Assume they lost visual and were too low, touched the water! I would rather see a rule that does not allow an aircraft within a meter of the water. When someone is killed, then it will happen.

  • Poor baby! Can't cut it?

  • Yeah, only with a wing, but you can land on water with any plane.

  • sort of lopiklop. if the plane isnt built to float then it will obviously sink.

  • first comment that isnt spam

  • not tru xD

  • FIRST COMMENT!

  • No1 gives a shit ;)

and wow that was barely feet off the ground o_O
