  • miss you michael

  • still makes my heart happy

  • Sorry Judy - she does it better.

  • So beautiful...

  • I love that high note at the end!

  • Ian Tyson is one of the best and Suzy does a great job with this song,,, now one more for ya,,how bout recording Four Strong Winds,,,,,, ya might get adopted by them Canadians,,,

  • 5 people will probably like this someday soon.

  • I'd forgotten all about this beautiful tune with a great lyric. Suzy did a nice job on this. Thanks for posting.

  • Very astute. I understand what you are saying.

  • Sure is purdy.

  • Great voice, great Ian Tyson song too. Suzy had cool taste in song selection and an awesome band, love that intrumental break here.

  • This song--sung by Judy Collins--really caught my attention when i was a kid in my early teens. Today, I find it bittersweet--"he loves that damn old rodeo as much as he loves me"--gee when will someday soon come? Maybe he is just the travelling type and leaves each town with some pretty girl with a broken heart behind.

  • ill be with you someday u crazy boy...

  • ill be with you someday u crazy boy...

  • My favorite performance of her's for this song in on Jerry Jeff Walker's 'Texas Connection'. Just look under "Suzy Bogguss - Someday Soon (live)" on youtube.

  • StevieB1362-This song does exactly the same thing to me. It came out in 1981 when our kids were little & we were struggling financially, but it was the best time in my life. If only i could go back to those days. Our kids have left home are living far from home, two of our three sons are married. It's like grief, i miss them so much. I know exactly how you feel. This is such a beautiful song. Suzy Bogguss sings it better, to me, than anyone.

  • @KBLNW This rings true with me as well.. nothing wrong with feeling lonely and lost as your children move on with their lives.. without you.

  • Maybe the greatest rodeo, love song EVER, Ian Tyson, what a talent! Moe Bandy, Tanya Tucker,Chris Ledoux and of course Suzy Bogess, thanks for tackling this treasure. This song is what the western U.S. and Canada is all about! Think about it. Today with all the SHIT we have to deal with ,from every piece of crap country, mainly from the middle east, there is a simple melody from a genius we can listen to and not feel so bad. THANKS

  • @kbf1978

I don't think there's such a thing as a "piece of crap" country, just piece of crap leaders. At the end of the day, we're all human. Every nation on the planet has their share of good and bad people. Now back to the simple melody...

  • I'm a rock fan but there's something about the performance quality of today's country recordings that far exceeds most rock. Here, Suzy Bogguss takes a great Ian Tyson song, delivers it in the style of Judy Collins with a tad more emotion & a yodal, backs the track with outstanding musicians, hi-quality recording & editing, to deliver perfection.

Country pop don't get none to much better than this, does she? Heck, the country boy in me's a comin' out to y'all. Hope it ain't permanent-like.

  • @alphakid42 - Well said. I saw Boggus at a little offbeat club just outside Pittsburgh in the late 90s. This song actually brought tears to my eyes. The perfect ringing clarity of her voice just tears at your heart.

  • @krogmank Indeed.

  • @alphakid42 ..TODAYS COUNTRY ...LOL.. this song was recorded 30 years ago..

  • @kennova01 yeah, today's 'country' is akin to Radiodisney lol

  • @kennova01

PRECISELY! TODAY'S so-called "country music" is pure drivel for the most part.

  • ....like so much.......................

  • Her voice is amazing, she puts so much feeling in her songs

  • One of the most beautiful ladies in the world. With one of the most beautiful voices in the world.

  • @MrChaney4 absolutely , . . .

  • I see there are three dislikes, well it don' t matter we you've played before Colorado's a brand new game. Get tuff and be real. Even the mamas are tuff out here. If youir wussified stay home.

  • What they said!

  • Suzy has the voice of an angel...much like Karen Carpenter had. They both have the same effect on me. And she does an excellent job on this song.

  • How bout some Suzy....

  • Beautiful version of a great song. I was a radio DJ when Moe Bandy had his hit with it, and so that one will always be my favorite.

  • suzy boggus is the most beuatifal pure hearted singer to ever walk this planet

  • What A Song! Great Day! Well written! Sung by a great artist! Thanks for posting!

  • What a talent & voice. Thanks for posting this. Takes me back to a great time in my life when the kids were little & we were struggling financially. Well, now we're struggling again in this economy financially ($5. gas is a comin') & the kids are grown & getting married. Empty nests suck ! It almost hurts me as much as my wife.

  • What a talent & voice. Thanks for posting this. Takes me back to a great time in my life when the kids were little & we were struggling financially. Well, now we're still struggling financially & the kids are grown & getting married. Empty nests suck ! It almost hurts me as much as my wife.

  • suzy is the best

  • suzy is a one of a kind shes pure as the driven snow

  • HI, I`M FROM ENGLAND .LIKE A LOT OF THIS KIND OF MUSIC WE DONT GET IT ON TV HERE OR IF YOUR LUCKY YOU MAY FIND SOMETHING SCANNING THE MEDIUM WAVE.A RODEO IN LONDON, CANT SEE IT MY SELF.I LOVE THIS KIND OF MUSIC. AS FOR THIS ARTIST, NEVER HEARD OF HER BEFORE BUT SHE IS IS DAMN GOOD, I MUST OF LISTENED TO THIS SONG OVER A HUNDRED TIMES...JUST KEEP GOING BACK TO IT,THANKS TO THE UPLOADER AND YOUTUBE.

  • @UKneil1 In return, I'd like to say that thanks to YouTube I now listen to Helen Shapiro. What a voice! She kinda got lost in the revolution caused by the Beatles in 1963. As a singer and interpreter of songs written by others, The Beatles made her irrelevant and her music just didn't cross the Atlantic. I love to hear her version of 'Might as Well Rain Until September.' Thanks YouTube.

  • @ginoboy9 I don't know if i did right but i left a MSG in your youtube account.

  • @UKneil1 Hi there Neil, i live in East Yorkshire . True country music don't seem a big thing on UK radio, But there's quite a few place's you can go to listen to country music over here. Newark Americana in July is quite good, and in fact Suzy Boggus is doing a tour in UK soon. Google Wine Women and Song, going myself to her show in Buxton Derbyshire. Jim

  • If that line about the rodeo doesn't rip your heart out - you're a corpse.

  • @DarwinsFriend ...My father says that he will leave me cryin'...

  • This really is better than Judy Collins version in 1972, and that's sayin alot 'cause damn, that was one of my favorites.

  • Her voice would melt the evil out of Satan. Good God what a pure, crystal clear tone.

Thanks for posting this, and taking me back to my college days. I would marry her on the spot, just so I could have her sing me to sleep each night.

  • I wish....

  • I love Suzy. I saw her live. She was awesome. And she sounds better than Judy Collins. I remember Judy. It's rare a performer can actually BETTER the original but this is one such occasion. FABULOUS!

  • One of my favorite songs in the world! Suzy does a perfect job. First heard it by Judy Collins. Beautiful there too. Sure brings back memories of the '70's. Thanks.

  • I would love Alison Krauss to do a cover of this beautiful song....its perfect for her vocal stylings.....

  • @mowermanable

I was thinking the same thing.

  • This is about as close to a perfect version of this song that I have heard in over 40 years. Beautiful!

  • Suzy hit #12 in Billboard, 12-7-91 in Billboard, with this great ol' chestnut. God bless!

  • I like Crystal Gayle's version but the musicians and the arrangement are definitely better on this one.

  • This woman sings like an angel

  • one of the best voices of the 90's. what is she up to lately?

  • Never has such clear and unalloyed talent been married to such beauty.

  • Just beautiful...Couldn't be sung better...What a doll....And all that talent, too...

  • lol my daddy didn't like my 1st love either. i can relate to this song.

  • Excellent song, also Judy Collins version is nice.

  • As good as it gets

  • fantastic version of this song

  • awsome tune

  • a great song that absolutely couldn't be sung better. thanks!

  • @bbbartolo Hi, took the trouble to listen to every version of this song out there and you are correct, this is the best version available. Almost always makes me cry.

  • such a sweet voice, I miss sher not being on Opryland. :-(

  • I agree Wilburscott...Suzy Bogguss' voice is so pleasant to listen to, and one of the best! I've always loved country music from the 90's.

And also, pabsk91, in answer to your question, I strongly believe that there's not one pop singer who can match the true voices of singer's gone by. Too much digital enhancement and crap like that.

  • such a clear pleasant voice. Can any of today's pop "stars" sing this well? I don't think so.

  • I've loved her voice ever since the first time I heard it. Today's pop stars... yeah, Carrie Underwood; "I told you so" beautiful, amazing.

  • This is one of my very favorite country songs. I first heard Lynn Anderson's version of it when I was a kid. Great song. This is wonderful! Thanks for posting it.

  • me and my momma listened to this in the car when we thought our heart had been broke

  • me and my momma used to listen to this when we thought our heart was broken : ')

  • Suzy Bogguss...my teenage dream :) And hands down one of the best voices in country music. Thanks!

  • Same here. =)

  • @wilburscott One of the best voices in any music, really. Wow.

  • Paiting the house listening to this song. That memory will never be erased :-)
