@AresVallis High-purity xenon is the primary ingredient. There may also be a trace amount of an unspecified and unknown additive that enhances the blue color.
@animelova11 Bill Parker is still in Stamford, CT, and I am told he could still sell you an original signed "Modern Frequencies Light Sculpture. I have seen similar items done by Wayne Strattman with Strattman Design in Boston or an online store called Information Unlimited in Amherst, NJ (both venders can be found on Google)
Bill Parker is not in Stamford Ct and never was. The company that ripped him off was. Not sure who thinks he was in Stamford but that is a bad guess. Bill is now in Vermont since 1981. Has a huge photonic lab up there.
There were only 275 made in 1985 by Bill Parker and sold for $2400 to art collectors by Circle Art Gallery, and now mostly in the hands of private collectors. A YouTube user named AJHERN offered to sell one for $1800 one week ago.--check the recent comments section for my "Blue Lightning Plasma Ball" for a link to that user. Wayne Strattman with Strattman Design in Boston has been known to make recent plasma globes with a similar gas mix in them for less than the original high price.
The music is from the Laura Croft Tomb Raider (music from the motion picture) official soundtrack CD. It is Track 11 on the CD back cover. The back of the CD case lists it as: ABSURD (Whitewash Mix) Performed by Fluke

Looks like Bill Parkers "Modern Frequencies" light sculpture.

That's exactly what it is. Often imitated, but never duplicated.

True, there were several people that ripped him off. namely WS and LA and JF.
