dangerous business indeed. id wanna say it sounds too .............. "happy?" but thats probably because its nearly impossible to sound as sad as tom in this song. great cover anyway.
An honest effort, and better musicianship than I generally hear or adhere to when it comes to Tom Waits. Too much echo though; the beauty of the original track is that he seems to spit the lyrics out reluctantly, and naked of effects like a confession rather than a composed piece. The rawness digs deep, which is what your glossed over cover missed, but not by too far. Don't be discouraged, it takes a lot or balls to put it out there in any case.
You know, I play a lot of Waits on a single guitar, and this is why I am VERY dissapointed, that I can not sing. It is AWESOME!!! Congrats, probably one of the "deepest" covers. Wow.
That was very very nice.. I played some solo guitar to it as well... It sounded a bit like Jeff Buckley meets Tom Waits and get's inspired by Leonard Cohen... I like =)
Wow, the first substantial cover of Blue Valentines I've heard so far. interesting choice of chord progressions(think it's in G# where as the original is in D min9)too. I think you missed out on one chord inside the progression, but it's just too good to care. Thanks so much dude, you made my ears really:).
Thanks for the comments. I really don't know how happy I am with this to be honest because I know the original too well. And you're right, I adjusted the chords to suit my own voice. Thanks a lot for checking the version out (and for your kind comments!)
Tom has written some simply wonderful tunes - doing them any justice at all is a bonus but I think it's quite difficult for a lot of Waits fans to hear covers of his work. It's just so individual (and wonderful).
Ohhhhh, a bit of an exaggeration but thanks. I think that, knowing the original so long, I will always find it difficult to listen to other versions. Especially my own.
Man, that's awesome... Greetings from Russia

Listening to you sing the blues feels like Kerouac must have felt when he heard the Bird play his sax.
The choice of song is brilliant, your interpretation is masterful and your voice is bewitching.
