I never understood how people give their children up for adoption. I had to do it myself and I still can't comprehend how anyone survives it. That woman is stronger than I could ever hope to be at this point.
I heard that once the baby is adopted that us as birth parents no longer have any rights if the parents never intended on an open adoption then I amscrewed I want to give my baby up for adoption but I am scared to give that much trust in someone and to get close to the baby it would be alot harder if they decide not to let me see the baby or something. How did you do it?
As a birth mother also in an open adoption, I applaud you for maintaining such a great relationship with her. It's the most difficult thing we will ever have to do and it's so encouraging to know people like you guys exist, to help us keep going after such a huge heartbreaking choice.

Seamus' birth mother Alexa is a truly beautiful you lady. I really am touched that you guys are able to have such a close and trusting relationship with her and that she is like an extended part of your lovely family.
I think this will always be good for Seamus as he grows and one day has a family of his own. He will have a direct link to learn about his lineage, his ethnicity *I'm curious about "what" Alexa is and his birth father as well, and any health information should he ever need it.
Such a beautiful video. There are already many babies on the earth that honestly need love and help. Saving one s life is better than creating one. I m a 25 year old girl and want to be single. I ve planned to adopt a baby girl (and may be a baby boy) when I m 30-35. It s one of the four goals in my life. And I m now saving money for "our" future. Again, thanks for the lovely video.
wow that is a beautiful video. and anyone who thinks differently needs to open their eyes. Ya'll have a beautiful, loving family. I'll say it again... Beautiful and Loving Family!
It has always been my dream to be a Mom, but I cannot have children....I am not rich, My husband (of 22 years) and I work hard for our money... I was infertile, and have recently had surgery (hystorectomy) and cannot carry a baby..:)...
Ok sorry for the bummer .. your family Looks very loving and happy, it is nice to see how Birth Mommy blends righ into the family making it even more loving and happy!
there are many grant resources. try your local catholic charities or abby's one true gift adoptions. they are both very affordable. 10,000 or less. but you can get lots of grants to help pay for it. also the government gives a 10,000 tax credit the following year after adopting the baby.
I'm currently 7 weeks pregnant, and I am considering an open adoption. I just fear that the terms of the contract won't be followed. Being cut off from my child is my worst fear.
My husband and I always wanted to adopt a little girl though an open adoption. We want the birth mom to be like an aunt and come to all the regular family functions too. This video makes me think that this dream is likely to come truw. We are planning on having at least one of our own too, but who would want to remove anther loving member from a childs life?
We are currently foster parents. In these cases the parents rights are terminated before they are free for adoption. :(
hi sweets, it is legal and biding. they can't violate the terms that are signed to. check with an attorney or your local adoption agency. there are also some parents who will allow more contact than others. i am adoption and it will be full open and my childs mother can see her any times she wishes.
This is beautiful! I am a huge supporter of adoption but the lines of an open adoption always seemed a little fuzzy to me. I can tell that your family makes it all work out to the benefit of the children and parents invovled, the way it should work! God Bless!!
I think this is just lovely. I wish more people would think about adoption, it really has a lot of options for pregnant moms. Beautiful family, God bless:)

@cramelo13 be careful. many open adoptions become less and less contact as the years go bye.

You don't have to be rich to adopt.
