  • Bravo

  • how about battlestar frontier

  • I WANT CLASSIC THEME FROM '78!!!

  • If you make the Lords of Kobal also be the Protoculture, it would be very easy to make Macross exsist as part of the BSG continuity. Cant wait for Battlestar Galactica: Of Blood and Chrome.

  • @dave19941000 i cant wait for the movie and then the tv show that follows :D

  • looks alot like the old star blazers/ space battleship yamoto

  • wow, great editing mr. adventurer. it seems like something new, even though it's from 28 years ago. great work.

  • Which bsg soundtrack did you use ?

  • @whitemanstand72 this music is from the opening sequence of the first season that shown in the US.

  • @WesOrion thanks i'' check but thanks

  • fuckin wicked

  • Global = Adama

    Misa = Duala

    Hikauru = Apollo

Minmay = Tory because she is useless

Focker = Starbuck in man form

  • @Spartanz1170 Max Sterling = Constanza "Hot-Dog"

  • @cmsahe No no no, Max Sterling ( Max Jenius if you go by original anime) as Helo after all he does marry an enemy combatant no?

  • @Spartanz1170 yes you are right.I mentioned Constanza "Hot Dog" because he is an ace pilot just like Max Sterling is. Halo isn't.

  • Awesome!

  • Me Likey!

  • hey, what if a movei was made coneting the remasered BSG that conected it to Robotech? i could so see the 2 angels of Baltar and Caprica standing in the wasted earth saying "The cycle isn't broken" (If you've seen the last BSG episone and Robotech, you'd understand).

  • The original poster is completely right...BSG's arrival from us Earther's view...it really hasn't been done.

  • @lordisaiah It was, albeit in a parody that somehow got much of the original cast to pretend it was real for a while.

  • Could you do the a theme switch up with the Macross theme on BSG?

  • Kind of ironic that both have the same theme. Both have humans fighting in space and both are trying to get to earth. The Maross is like the Battlestar Galactica, VF-1 Valkries are like the Vipers.

  • Frak yeah!

  • In RDM's original draft of the finale, the Galactica crash lands in Central America

( before the last Ice Age ), and Present Day archaeologist uncover the ship.

"Someone is doing a new kind of survey of the mounds with some kind of ground-penetrating radar or something and lo and behold, we see the outlines of the Galactica still buried under the surface."

It was later decided that the end of the show to be directly related to us, not to a world where that event had occurred.

  • Interesting premise. Unfortunate it wasnt filmed and put on the DVD set as an extra for those who would have liked that ending.

  • wow thats word have been a hell of a twist at the end no think if we did do that and found a ship under the ground makes you think lol

  • You should use All Along The Watchtower to Macross

  • Pretty good. To bad BSG is on its last episodes or I'd say you have a position at their SFX dept. When oh when will a live action Robotech movie come out?

  • Supposedly Toby Mcquire is working on one as we speak, er, type.

Wether thats a good thing or not I'll leave up to you.

  • Great job on this.

  • this is great!

  • 5/5. Another thing common about Macross and BSG: "Top Gun" with a half hint of "Star Trek".

  • And you dont think Macross borrowed just a tiny bit from Battlestar?? Hmmm Lets see, A massive aircraft carrier in space that is defending refugee's while being pursued by a massive alien fleet. The first part of the show they are trying to get back to earth. Sounds like two of my favorite show's Battlestar and Macross.

Now I am not saying Macross ripped Battlestar or anything. But I am saying there might have been some inspiration.

  • Do some research.... now which came out first? Battlestar or Macross or better yet Robotech

  • Now screw all of those and you'll come up with Star Wars

  • Right, now "screw", as you say, Star Wars, seeing as it borrowed from just about every major Sci-Fi and Fantasy work in decades. I'm not sure why any of it matters, really. Each franchise is wildly different from the other. Weather is be a few passing, or dozens of similarity's, only the execution truly defines a a piece of work.

  • Star wars borrowed heavily from Space Battleship Yamato. AKA dogfights in space

  • @twilightsol Actually, it wasn't taking from Yamato doing that, it was a more direct copy of 'Dogfights in space' based off of Dam Busters and similar WWII dogfight movies.

  • battle star came out in 78 macross came out in 82. I was 5 years of age when Battle star. came out. BTW I am a Rapid Macross fan

  • True this is the u.s. spin after we bought rights too it but it comes from that jap one first.

  • I like the video i gave it 5 stars but i have to say it "IS" a BSG rip off ...story line is way to much like BSG.

  • Battlestar Galactica (Original Series) - 1978

Super Dimensional Fortress Macross (Japanese) - 1982

  • I think they all borrowed a bit from each other but back in 74-79 there was "Space Battleship Yamato" (started showing here in the states in 78 or 79 as "Star Blazers". It is practically the baseline of all the animation that followed and they all have similarities.

  • @twilightsol While there are some unique attributes that both shows shared, something must be said about the commonality that exists in all of human kind. While BG did a fairly good job of addressing those issues, Macross (at the time) delved even deeper. Having said that, the newer BG did a better job of tackling issues that might have been better left untouched back in 1980. With respect to the latest trouble Japan has had, I somehow believe that they, as a people, have a deeper view on life

  • @twilightsol There is only a three year difference between when the series were released, and anime, especially back then took longer to produce, if anything they were in creation at about the same time. Also there was no Youtube or even worldwide broadcast of shows for the most part. Most likely neither crew knew about the other. Most shows have been inspired or had elements pulled from others. In some ways Lost in space predates both and has the similar theme of trying to get to Earth.......

  • @twilightsol Macross (and possibly Galactica ) was partly inspired by Space Battleship Yamato (Star Blazers in the US) where a lone ship has to find a planet that has help for a nuclear-bombed (by aliens) Earth. That came out in 1974, though only 1979 in the US.

  • Awesome job. 5/5

  • Wow, overeact much?

  • Heh, from what I've experienced, I've seen a cult of fans who overindulged themselves into de-constructing people's work without the makers' consent way too much, and TAdventurer fails to admit the problem. Harmony Gold's tampering of Macross has polarized the American culture if not the world.

  • From what I've seen in the past 2-5 years, the fan culture has unwittingly helped hollywood like Harmony Gold de-constructed artist's work without the artist's consent, and it's gone out of control. Macross is a victim of that problem, and TAdventurer fails to admit it.

  • Macross has been tampered once by HG, the American Robetech fans helped HG sabotage Big West from distributing Macross to North America which resulted in a messy lawsuit between BW and HG/Tatusnoko. now TAdventurer wants to cause more trouble by de-imagining Kawamori's work into the BSG version of Macross? I'm overeacting? I don't think so. I'm no slave to compromise. PS: re-imagining=de-imagining. It's a simple equation.

  • Don't be such a Macross fan boy. I like both Robotech & Macross. The truth is that HG got the rights fair & square. No stealing there...

    Get a grip... =/

(BTW, Due to the Macross franchise being in legal hell in Japan, RIGHT NOW A ROBOTECH LIVE ACTION FILM IS A 1000 TIMES MORE POSSIBLE THAN A MACROSS LA FILM).

  • Being a fanboy has nothing to do w/ my protests. I'm an advocate creative and intellectual rights. You're wrong, HG got the rights from Tatusnoko without Big West's consent. Also HG didn't give the Ishiguro, Aramaki, or the others from Studio Nue credit for those 3 anime shows. WHERE'S THE HONOR IN THAT? I'm fed up of looking at artists being cheated out of their work, and I'm not going indulge on my petty greed for Robotech at the expense of Big West/Studio Nue's rights. It's unethical.

  • "Harmony Gold's tampering of Macross has polarized the American culture if not the world"

WOW... That officially makes you the most hardcore of hardcore Macross fans. Harmony Gold re-dubbing a cartoon has polarized the culture of an entire planet???

    Just...WOW...

  • Even though your comment is a sarcastic one, I'll take that as a compliment.

  • ha ha ha. awesome. I was kinda thinking this guy was a little hardcore for a cartoon fan. And I just spent weeks making an Isamu Dyson 3DS Max model!

  • Yet you come to Youtube and watch content without royalties? You are agro and contradictory. You say American this and that ... it was not Americas fault that later versions of Macross were so poorly conceived. THAT is what I consider the crime ...

  • Agro?....yes. Contradictory? How so?

  • Becuase you whine about royalties, yet you come here and watch content royalty free.

If you'd like to make a point to people, study the way they communicate, otherwise you simply do damage. Your statements were follishly nationalistsic, and now nobody is listening to you. Please feel better, and partake in life with joy and purpose, not anger and self destruction.

  • You should also ask WHY the rights issue came up, do know how much money is required fro Macross7? More than any in history practically, and that series is very weak by comparison. Likewise, the only reason the 'Robotech" thing was pieced together was BECAUSE they were trying to get it to the american market. This was unfortunately THEIR doing, as a response to OUR episode requirements.

  • Re-imagining as you put it is the foundation of mental evolution. Your very appreciation is born of this concept. You can view this video in many ways, none of which are destructive. I was just telling a friend the other day that if liked the new BSG he should check out the old Macross, even though they are unrelated, I found this video to be a good, yet vague, representation of that very sentiment. No "de-imagining" here. I think the thoughts YOU have conjured up are more destructive than any.

  • Lonny

  • muy bueno
