The tunnels (yes, more than one) have been under the WI capitol for many years. Walker's "rat hole" was built a decade ago, but there were others before that. Most elected officials don't seem to need to resort to the tunnels for access, though. Walker is a coward. He does not show his face in the Capitol hallways.

I used to work in the electronics department of a store (I quit about two weeks ago). Our entire wall of TVs was on FOX News for most of the Walker protests. The coverage I saw there all day, about 4-5 days a week was no where near what you would believe watching this video. I would see a lot of this type of "reporting" about the Tea Party gatherings when the TVs would be on another network, but never about the Wisconsin protestors on FOX.

Helpful hint to Fox - there is no greenery, let alone palm trees in Madison in February. Through the first week of March I understand there were a total of eight arrests (all desk tickets) issued over four weeks of protests. A normal Madison football weekend has about 30.

Yes, but the general population are not professional political pundits by trade. Nobody (unless you have no life or it is your career to do so) has the time to effectively research every single topical issue beyond the rhetoric. For years, the media has taken advantage of this and has presented us with a one sided perspective and a subtle demagoguery aimed at the right. Now that FOX exists, the only reason to be unfamiliar with an opposing viewpoint is impetuous ignorance.
I'm not necessarily implying that everyone who watches FOX is an "independent thinker", but certainly FOX opens up the dialog (whether you like it or not) by presenting the opposing side of an issue (albeit fervently and much less subtle than the "competition"). For many, it's not so much as having someone "think" for them. Contrarily it arguably facilitates a more educated public. Anyone that would demonize that is not only showing their hand, but is likely being dishonest.
As far as I can tell, the tunnel story is fake. No major media outlet has the story, including the New York Times. It seems a lot more plausible that if only Walker's supporters were there, they were let in by security. Given that security and sealed the building and wasn't letting protectors in, they then of course had the power to let supporters in. I think this is more likely than the existence (never mind use) of a tunnel.
@CreativeJamieCOM Tunnel story is not fake. There is a tunnel system underneath the capitol square, and I was there when "security" people were escorting Governor Walker's cronies in. Out of state cronies, all dressed in black. Does that sound like Wisconsin to you? It was reported by several news outlets, I'm sure if you do a google search you'll find more details.
@jkitsoning I did do a bunch of google searches and only found the story on little websites - this seems like the sort of story major outlets like the NY Times would pick up, but I can't find it. (as far as i can tell, its only on blogs) If you were there and you say it's true, then I can't dispute your eyewitness claim. It just seems like it would be a lot easier for security to just escort Walker's supporters into the building through the front door , the back door... or any door.

But the capitol has been surrounded with protesters at all entries. non-violent protesters, mind you, but enough where the powers that be would know enough to not bring the out of staters past the protesters. @studpuppy69 well they knew that going into the teaching field, its not cause of the pay. if they didnt want to do that then they shouldnt have done it. and because we live in a free market society they can get a job doing somthing else. i dont see y the students have to suffer cause they were stupid. and yes the teachers r underpayed but thats only cause the gov controls it, also they have great benifits and they r almost impossible to fire. (this is based on location).

@bonedraman - There was a Fox News report about "the chaos in Madison" a couple of weeks ago that showed protestors fighting with cops. Problem is there were palm trees in the background. Helpful hint to Fox - there is no greenery, let alone palm trees in Madison in February. Through the first week of March I understand there were a total of eight arrests (all desk tickets) issued over four weeks of protests. A normal Madison football weekend has about 30.

@bonedraman where im from a highschool teacher makes 80-110k a year depending on what they majored in, if thats not enough then how much is? they are at there place of work for 6 hours a day and get 2 periods off at my school, teachers are overpaid for the amount of work they do, which is considerablely close to fuck all some times of the year

@hazard2000 i really think their pay is based were they live on average they do get payed alot but were i live they make out fairly well, idk the ammount but its enough so they dont have to work anouther job wile school is going. i dont think they need any more money but rather allow the school system to be run like a busyness so they r held accountable for their action and can be fired instead of being put on suspention for 2 years with full pay and bennies. and no unions

The only two things I remember is that I was repulsed by the pseudo-logic of that biased individual and his disgusting voice. I'm not necessarily implying that everyone who watches FOX is an "independent thinker", but certainly FOX opens up the dialog (whether you like it or not) by presenting the opposing side of an issue (albeit fervently and much less subtle than the "competition"). For many, it's not so much as having someone "think" for them. Contrarily it arguably facilitates a more educated public. Anyone that would demonize that is not only showing their hand, but is likely being dishonest.

As far as I can tell, the tunnel story is fake. No major media outlet has the story, including the New York Times. It seems a lot more plausible that if only Walker's supporters were there, they were let in by security. Given that security and sealed the building and wasn't letting protectors in, they then of course had the power to let supporters in. I think this is more likely than the existence (never mind use) of a tunnel.

@CreativeJamieCOM Tunnel story is not fake. There is a tunnel system underneath the capitol square, and I was there when "security" people were escorting Governor Walker's cronies in. Out of state cronies, all dressed in black. Does that sound like Wisconsin to you? It was reported by several news outlets, I'm sure if you do a google search you'll find more details.

@jkitsoning I did do a bunch of google searches and only found the story on little websites - this seems like the sort of story major outlets like the NY Times would pick up, but I can't find it. (as far as i can tell, its only on blogs) If you were there and you say it's true, then I can't dispute your eyewitness claim. It just seems like it would be a lot easier for security to just escort Walker's supporters into the building through the front door , the back door... or any door.

But the capitol has been surrounded with protesters at all entries. non-violent protesters, mind you, but enough where the powers that be would know enough to not bring the out of staters past the protesters. I don't mean to be confrontational, I was just there and saw them being escorted through the tunnels.
