The banks would benefit with a Ron Paul presidency. People wouldn't be taxed, so they'd have more money to pay off their mortgages, auto loans, and credit card bills. Yeah, the war contractors would go out of business...but who cares about them anyway? Ha ha! I don't think he got bad press. He barely got any press! The people that won't vote for Ron Paul are the ones who benefit from taxing Americans for war, welfare, and "bridge to nowhere" spending.

Your point about not voting for well-funded candidates is valid. If only that worked, they stuff the ballot boxes, remove voters from lists and steal the election with the Supreme Court. Gore won the popular vote, but the election was stolen from him. Obama was installed as president and McCain would have been another Bush. Actually, they both are just like Bush just a different package.

Absolutely, the government failed its people. It was a planned failure and they are laughing all the way to the bank. When government controls business you have communism and when business controls government you have fascism. The market will has to adjust and people will lose jobs. Unfortunately, mass marketing makes it too easy for people to get credit and into debt. Banks and big business have planned it well. We have to be smarter and self educate.

If Ron Paul had put forth a real effort he would not have ceeded to McCain so early in the Republican Primary leaving just Huckabee as McCains lone contender who then bowed out just a couple of months later leaving McCain to sit and wait to see who he would face off against. I do feel that if Ron Paul had gone full board he would have won over more than enough to win this election, but fact is he didn't. Go ahead, try and prove me wrong.

At the same time, he was against the vastly increased public 'benefits' started in the 60's by the Johnson administration, too.
When he mentions 'guns and butter' - he is talking about Vietnam (guns) and welfare/health care (butter). He compares the 60's excessive spending to recent trends.
This is the welfare/warfare state he is always condemning.
