The best class to start out as isthe soldier, it is fairly easy to learn the basics of the soldier.

The hardest class to start as is the medic, because you dont have a good way to kill people you have to rely on your team to not only kill the enemy team but keep you alive as well. That along with medigun selection as per the situation, popping the uber at the right time. learning the maps so you know where the health is because the medics passive heal rate isn't the best thing to rely on.

1. Using classes which require less effort to gain kills

2. Try to be a tactician and learn the basics of each class

3. Improve on classes which are best appealing to you

Shib's your stuff is good but soldier is not the best class for someone just starting. The easiest and best is pyro is they are just learning. I started out as spy though and have remained so throughout my time on the game.(24 hours logger on spy)

i would say sniper and soldier are the best starters. Sniper is somewhat universal and is easy for new players to understand but doesnt teach the kind of teamwork that the soldier does. The soldier is also fairly easy to understand, most people know what a rocketlauncher is and to shoot feet to get kills.

It depends on how they are. If they didn't like the scout or heavy then yes, but they could like the Pyro or medic, or another character like such. And, as I said before, it all depends on how he/she's personality is like.

I don't think he's the best to start as because if your still trying to learn the aiming mechanics its hard to predict where people land, so i think the best to start out with is the medic cus all you have to do is heal people and sometimes pull out you syringe gun or pop uber

Another class that's good for a beginner that kinda has a sense of TF2 heavy. It's pretty straight forward in the way you play it, although as I have learned and put into practice there are many tactics that a heavy should use

I believe engineer is the best class to start off with. It's very team based, putting sentries down to secure positions, dispensers to heal the team and teleporter to move the team up. It takes the MW3 effect off you makes you the TEAM-MAN!!!! Not trying to make a flame war, just saying my opinion.

Soldier is not the begginer class, it is actually one of the hardest classes to play with one of the highest learning curves. When it comes to new players, they need a class that has a high firing rate and doesn't punish missed shots as much. That being said, the Heavy and Pyro are the best classes for new players.

@kirbaaaay Its one of the easier classes to get into, but a new soldier against a slightly more experienced soldier has no chance. Whilst a new heavy has a much better chance against a slightly more experienced heavy. Thats what I have noticed from all the time I've played TF2. As for learning curve, its easier to compare competitive TF2, a soldier has to be exceptional to make it into competitive TF2 whilst a heavy needs nowhere near as much skill
