  • Its a shame P-funk neverf performed on here. Im sure the reason being that they were too "OUT" their.

  • Much prefer their grittier earlier stuff.

  • One Nation Under Our Sun

  • This is my Jamm!

  • Possibly my favorite P-Funk song--and I love 'em all. Rest in peace Don.

  • Dude on the right in the first 15 seconds has it going on...

  • Oh I love this song; love this video too; reminds me of a happier time, simpler time. Anyone else crave those days? no ipods, no iphones, no mobile phones at all, no computers, no internet, no hassles? Anyone fancy a trip in my time machine back to the 70's, if just for a day?

  • @ralucagymnast

Yes. I definitely agree with you 100%! They were the best... innocent, yet, awakening at the same time! I really have nothing but good feelings when I hear any of the 70s music. Absolutely ALL of it!

  • I believe this song came out in 1978, everyone still jams to this song! They don't play it very much these days, but when they do it brings back great memories.

  • I remember this song it was and is the jam! Funkadelic was the ish! One nation under a groove....I need this on my I- pod.

  • Damm! Sexy Lady In The Tan Pants!! Thats What I`m Talking Bout !!

  • @jaynoe123 Opps My Bad Its @ 1:28 .

  • @jaynoe123 Bam !!Spotted Another Bad momma @ 2:18 On The Right !

  • don rip

  • SOLID !

  • crazyhorse99999 i pretty much agree with you. Don himself did say that he got 95% of his shtick from Clark but as I say they're both great. I much preferred Soul Train.

  • HOW MANY OF YOU WATCHED SOUL TRAIN WITH YOUR MOMMAS EVERY WEEKEND. EVERYONE DANCING TO THE GROOVE OF THE LATEST JAM. THOSE WERE THE DAYS.

  • I never met Don Cornelius however like six degrees of separation, I was a background actor a decade ago in Hollywood and the updated version was still on television and some of the background actors would go on the show and they told me Don Cornelius was the man. R.I.P. I enjoy watching you growing up.

  • #261(Tie)

  • Man why did he kill himself, why didnt he just call me, we could have talked and just chilled, RIP Soul Train Man!!

  • Timeless....Don lives and will always live for at least another 50years, my age timeline.

  • TEARS OF JOY WHEN WATCHING THESE VIDEO'S. DON CORNELIUS WILL ALWAYS BE THE LEGENDARY HOST OF SOUL TRAIN!

  • TEARS HERE AS WELL...

  • THE Soul train MAN RIP.......

  • If you did'nt get on the dance floor on this song , somethings wrong with you, especially the extended version of this groove..I.Love Soul Train. RIP you were a TRUE pioneer.

  • RIP, Don Cornelius. Prayers and love for his family.

  • R I P ,, Thank You DON CORNELIUS ,, I grew up ridin along with the SOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL TTTRRRRRRAAAAIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Black Folks should have kept the Soul in their music, Rap music has Fucked their Shit up !

    RIP Mr. Cornelius.

  • @usaSAVAGE

Rap has not (Fucked) Blacks music up!

Do you listen to Underground hiphop? all the beats are sampled from soul and old jazz tracks. and the lyrics are positive. Its the Corporates that messed it up

  • @iHipHopIsNotDead That's exactly my point, all the music made today are sampled and it's nothing but beats. you don't see hardly any black performers with an instrument in the hands.

all recycled beats with garbage for lyrics. there are a few positive messages in rap music, but most of it, is very vulgar and demeaning towards women. I love the message of soul music from the seventies. you would have had to have been their like me i guess to understand fully.

  • @usaSAVAGE

I agree with you, but underground artists never curse and make negative raps. its all about positivity and unity in underground hiphop. i dont listen to mainstream, still have to agree with ya, the blacks were so much cooler in the 60s/80s. now its all about drugs and guns

  • @iHipHopIsNotDead Yea, sounds like we have found some common ground. I respect your willingness and honesty to see things for how they are. and i applaud you for doing your best to create and listen to music that's uplifting and inspiring. good for you man. Peace ! =]

  • This was the jam!

  • @afarrakhan U've never lied my friend, it was about burning the dance floor up! Some clubs back then didn't have air & some had air that didn't work, but it was o.k. no time 2 act cute, ready 2 party, sweat till u drop. Where's my 70's time machine, Smalls Paradise, start the strobe light here I come, D.J's slick-man, bread-man play my fav songs. Am I the only 1 left from yesteryears. (Love=Peace & Soul 4ever Don C.)

  • Just good music. No hate.

  • Shit...theses assholes in Cali can't even jamm to this Funk. Look at how they all are jumping around like fleas in a saucer of Raid. Pfunk is Midwest ,Eastcoast thang!

  • @Kneebuckler2011-Nah dude. P-Funk ruled the west coast with an iron hand back in the daze, especially in Oakland and Compton. Them ST folks are rolling with it deep. You should see if the clip where they're dancing to "Aqua Boogie" is on Youtube. That should eliminate any doubts.

  • @Kneebuckler2011 Funk is universal

  • fuck man, all these people my age these days listenin to dubstep, rap, techno, crazy weird shit like that goin to raves or mansion parties, all I want to do is get my ass to a disco, funkin party and get down damn. How did we come from that to this?

  • if only more of my gen could apreciate this music and time...the world would be better

  • only if our kids these days chould see more of these

  • I miss this music...and I miss seein' people being COVERED WITH CLOTHING and NO SAG-GIN'...

  • All the girls are so overdressed, no booty or cleavage in sight

  • @tsangpogorge lol

  • This has to happen again! Save our ears! Give us the funk! The real funk! And nottin' but that funky-stuff!

  • Don Cornelius had the courage to say that when he hung it up it was because he realize the day of "a man in a suit," mcing a show had come and gone. How sad. He was a class act.

while Cornelius claims that "95%" of what he did learned from Dick Clark, I think he is being unnecessarily modest. they're both great.

    those were the days.

  • @caesarcerf Don Cornelius introduced black music to white America as there were no dance shows then that featured R&B and Soul as Soul Train did. He was really at the forefront along with Motown and despite Bandstand, Shindig, Hullaballo, or any of the others that featured artists of the day. Black artists of today owe much gratitude to Don Cornelius. Yes, those were the days and thank God we can still watch it today.

  • This what they call real music...

  • @omahri11 hell ya

  • I'm loving it wish I was around at this time...These days young black people cant get together without acting a fool...

  • 2:50 respect that mans gangster ! lol.

  • SHIT..I AM "WHITE" And I Can Tell You 100%...That White Girl Cannot Keep Up With The Rest Of The Dancers...Damn," BITCH CAN'T DANCE"

Go To Any White Wedding, Now, Sit Back And WATCH ALL THE WHITE PEOPLE DANCE..

I've Never Seen Anything Like It On This PLANET, Funny Shit No Question

  • at the beginning of the clip you see a female dancer, Sherry, dancing with two fans.

  • this was when black men danced in clubs, now we just shoot in clubs and fight....

  • That white girl needs to dance her waaay out her con-strict-ion...

  • Feel tha FUNK noth'n but tha FUNK-World needs to back n the groove!

  • seem like golden age of african american

  • As a nation, I hope we can get our groove back.

  • Top tune-happy days!

  • 1380 views, 1 persons feet have failed them, 68 promised to funk, the whole funk mind you, nothin but the funk!

  • Don's suit is clean.

  • man..the guy in blue with afro starting at 0:20 can dance!..wish music in clubs these days allowed for people to dance like this..cuz the music nowadays just aint cutting it whatsoever. If you see a guy dance with hip like that now you'd think hes gay but not back then baby..it was all good..women loved men that could dance..im so sad that times have changed..wish i couldve experienced the 70s and early 80s..

  • @LBJTV .....I So agree wit on that. I love to dance and but i just cant dance the way i want to off of the songs out now. But when you put on some 70's, 80's or 90's music, the floor is mine!!! Lol......Im glad I grew up in the 80's and 90's when it was sill cool for guys to know how to dance.

  • Good times....good times. I miss those days.

  • song came out in september '78..but i believe this clip's from mid-'79...good times

  • dail shugga!

  • Feet don't fail me now!

  • @ElvisLivesUpstairs Thanks not racist....its the damn truth. FYI....I meant to hit thumbs up, not thumbs down lol

  • @ElvisLivesUpstairs The comment may seem innocuous enough, but judging your body of work, I think you are racist. Stating you dgaf makes you none the less racist. Get over it, it's just skin color.

  • @drmorb Hardly racist to say I am mixed black/white. It's just true. God some people are so scared to admit the obvious. It's a fact that diffirent races can have better advantages in some things. ie Black people aren't as strong swimmers as say white people over all and black people are usually better sprinters overall. Not seeing either race can't be great at either thing. But let's be honest. statistically speaking it's the truth. People are so PC it pisses me off.

  • @ElvisLivesUpstairs The only reason that Blacks aren't "strong swimmers" in the U.S. is because they aren't encouraged to be. Visit countries where Blacks are a large part of the population and/or where there's plenty of bodies of water (e.g. the Caribbean islands), and you will see that there are a lot of Black swimmers. Oh, believe it or not, we also ski and play hockey too! Again, American Blacks just aren't encouraged to focus on these sports!

  • @drmorb Also I'm not sure what u mean by dgaf, never heard of that. But if that has anything to do with the gollywog as my profile pic, so fuckin what?? I love gollywogs, I think they're cute. It's people who make a big deal out of them who are the ones that see something bad when there is nothing bad to see. As I said political correctness gone mad.

  • @ElvisLivesUpstairs Nothing racist in that my friend:)

  • @ElvisLivesUpstairs we can? wow! lol

  • @ElvisLivesUpstairs i believe white people can dance better than they let on, yall be throwin' down in between takes on American Bandstand, lol

  • @ElvisLivesUpstairs This is a scientifically proven FACT!

  • @ElvisLivesUpstairs It's true, and the white people that can move and keep the beat, they don't move as fluidly as black people.

  • @ElvisLivesUpstairs - IT IS NOT A RACIST REMARK! Yo mofo NOT ALL WHITE PPL CAN'T DANCE...LMMFAO!

  • @ElvisLivesUpstairs er, statin' d obvious...Lol!

  • @ElvisLivesUpstairs I'm as white as hell, and i don't just agree... I FULLY AGREE!

  • @ElvisLivesUpstairs

because the color of your skin makes you a better dancer?

    fiction can be fun

  • Where's:Shalamar"Uptown Festival"Soul Train performance?

  • I miss Soul Train. Grew up watching that show.

  • Happy birthday George Clinton

  • That's my song.

  • this should be1978, i loved this song back then.

Funkadelic never did Soul Train except some original Parliament members

appeared once in the early 80s.

  • @jody808 it is 1978 .... i was 13 and in 2011 i am still 13

  • @graydog788 me too, i starting watching at 6 and along with PFunk, EWF never appeared either, I always

thought because both groups had at least 10 members, that stage was too small to fit them all.

  • @jody808 I know, this is the first time I ever seen Soul Train play anything by George Clinton, P-Funk or Bootsy....

  • sick! classic!
