commercials like this were made from the heart, unlike today that only lures the consumers to the point of false marketing and dirty strategies...

looking back, "the beauty of the philippines is shining through; and the freedom of the philippines is shining through..." but are we as proud today as we were yesterday?

sad to say, we filipinos are partly to blame to the philippines that we are currently living today; on the contrary, only we ourselves can bring the glory back to her...

This commercial reminds me of the era where Philippine Airlines is one of the leading carriers in the world... even topped cathay, singapore, and all other carriers that boomed lately.. such a waste for an airline which made filipinos proud for a while. :(

aside from being one sided attendants favoring the upper class passengers; most PAL attendants are RACISTS, i noticed when used to fly PAL from LA-Manila vice versa, they warmly greet passenger whom are caucasians and sarcasticaly greet passenger whom appeared to be their own filipinos.... LETS ASK THE FAA TO BAN THIS CARRIER ON FLYING TO United States...I choose Cathay pacific, some of their FAs are filipinas and all of them are nice and beautiful

maybe you yourself is not showing your good smile and friendly attitude. hehehe. just maybe i dont mean to offend you. i think they won't also look nice if the person they approach is not that welcoming or pleasing to be served, maybe they will be shocked when they greeted someone, and vagrantly the passenger will be pissed.

maybe you are just being a pathetic passenger of PAL. yes you are paying taxes for CX but the thing is it is directd to Hong Kong's treasury, instead of helping your own country. for you information, i am not a PAL FA im just a passenger who keeps on traveling with PAL. well to cut this negative conversation, baka nag kataon lang talagang masungit sayo ang FA mo coz so far i havent realized or experienced anything unusual sa flight ko internationally.

i suggest you take other airlines. cebu pacific perhaps para maranasan mo rin, then we well see. i guest it would not down PAL's continued service to the Filipinos. but please be proud of your country's flag carrier.

well that is good to hear. FYI, i know you also knew this, kapag international flight, PAL is using senior FA's (in short, yung mga matatanda na!) pero okay ka din, at least we have this conversation, this will somehow reach to it's proper authorities.

My wife is Pinay..believe me, I mean no disrespect to the Filipino people when I comment on PAL. I work in the Airline business, in fact I worked for PAL for a brief stint in the late 90's.

Safety is not the issue, lack of funding is probably the biggest problem they face.

They only focus in profit and ways to pay their loans, if they only fund on advertisements and cooperate with the Dept. of Tourism they will gain more profit than that of what they expect... they should take care of their flight attendants too..

I remember having goosebumps the first time i saw this ad as a kid. I agree with aldwint.  It's undeniably one if not the best PAL ad ever! How I wish PAL can bring back it's former glory as being one of the best airlines in the world and live up to being our nation's flag carrier :-)
