So I'm sure I'm going to get flamed for asking a stupid question, but are small graphics you create such as the feather at 7:00 considered avector graphic?
Thanks for the tutorials. I know photoshop really well (airbrushing photos to perfection, graphic design and morphing.. im new at that) but I have no idea how to do illustrator. I am really glad that I found you on YouTube bc you are very precise and you are very good at explaining everything. Thank you again.
how do i import an ai file into an open illustrator session..? iv put together some separate vector images in illustrator as i learn how to use it but now i want to put some of the images together on the same illustrator page...currently all my projects are in separate sessions ...i want to combine them...how..?
This is a really good tutorial. Thank you! I noticed you made videos on other products as well so I'm wondering if you can help me. I have hundreds of hours of artwork I created years ago in Microsoft Photodraw which is a .MIX format. Do you know of any way I can convert all of my .MIX files so I can edit them in Ai? Or do you think I will just have to start over again from scratch?
cool thank you so much for the information very easy to follow i use a tablet in my graphics and yes find it much easier when doing fiddly lines or tracing. :)))
@Cakestain92 You're welcome, glad it helped! The background was just a download, but actually something like that isn't as hard to create as it looks.
Very well done! It is very informative. I converted using a photoshop effect so it looks more animated. Kinda like the bird but with my facial features not showing. I want to make it a vector graphic so I can use it as a logo on my business card design but I am having trouble. I prefer to stick with 1 color for printing purposes i.e. different shades of gray. Any suggestions. I can email the images directly to you for reference.
@j2cool2 Thanks for the feedback. Feel free to send me a message, might help if you have a link to something that's similar to what you want to achieve to give me a better idea as well.
@j2cool2 I realise you are directing your enquiry to the owner of this video but I have something that may help. If you oly stick with one colour, the 'One Colour Logo' LiveTrace option may be useful. You must have CS2 or later for this to work. Hope this helps!
Thank ZookanProductions. I already tried it. The image get too much area black over. I loose crucial detail like the camera with lettering on it. I need the camera and the letter on it to remain in tack and not lost. But thank you. I appreciate your input.
This was great, I can only imagine if I ever get good enough to master both illustrator and photoshop........ Maybe in 10 years right????? Great video man, thanks.
@ldcrusher: haha yeah me too! you just have to always practice, I seem to forget a lot of stuff the longer I go without doing anything in the programs. thanks for watching!
OMG this was totally helpful. It never occurred to me to use the pencil tool. I have only been using the pen tool and haven't entirely liked the results I had been getting with it. Thanks alot man!
Man I'm a Graphic Design major in the Art Institute of NYC and u just summed up a week lesson in 8 minutes and I actually know how to use this program now...thanx alot bro u just saved me from gettin' a F...5 stars bro ur the best
