why does it say -s or -es after some nouns?

@YooserFriendly That is the noun's ending in the Genetive case...

For example for the word "Das Buch", you will see -es because in the Genitive form, it will be "Des Buches"

They mention this in one of the early videos.

@Lasz2011 For most nouns, you have to memorize which gender it is. However, if the noun ends in -ung or -heit, it is feminine. If the noun ends in -chen, it is neuter.

Oh Mann, was man alles nicht macht wenn einem langweilig ist. Ich habe keine Ahnung was ich hier eigentlich mache. Ich kann schon perfekt Deutsch und jedes Mal wenn ich mir diese Sätze anhöre kann ich nicht anders als irgendwelche Späße mit ihnen zu treiben. Zum Beispiel: Wir suchen ein Haus mit einem Garten. Ich: Ach schön, am besten hätte es auch noch ein Dach und Fenster und Türen wären auch nicht schlecht damit man überhaupt reinkommt! Aber das ist sicherlich hilfreich für viele.

are these lessons standard German (= Hochdeutsch) or not ,,,pleas help , i'm studying in another website it's suppose to be standard German but i'm noticing Pronunciation differences like the word (Saal) the site reads the s in the beginning like the English s ,, should it pronounced like English z .. is it because it's a different dialect .the site is german-grammar.de
