  • well they did it in the netherlands... good enough? but i live here and i can say that even alcohol is gone down, hard drugs are almost gone, theres cannabis usage, ecstasy by small part connected to rave scene, but thats it, the thing is if it worked here with people with less education then usa, in the usa it would work even better, we did it because we didnt had any other option, drugs where cancer, cops doing it, 10 year olds on smack etc

  • If I wanna buy sex from a hooker, or if she wants to hook, let her. You can regulate WHERE it can be done, but no one has the right to say it can't be done. I still can't believe so many states in this country don't allow prostitution. Where's the harm?? The harm is in keeping it ILLEGAL! Banning almost anything won't do any good. It just makes things worse and puts them underground.

  • It's only illegal if you don't put it on video and post it on the web for $1.99.

  • Holland and Portugal seem like 2 GREAT examples of drug decrim at work. It LOWERS drug use and makes costs go down, esp. to states. Besides, freedom should be a definite motivating factor here: No government should be allowed to prevent a person from consuming whatever the hell he wants, so long as he's not infringing on others' rights. We should have bodily sovereignty, a point which guys like Ethan Nadelmann have reiterated over and over. No state should tell me "don't do this or that."

  • If I wanna sodomize someone consensually in private, I should be allowed to. If I wanna get high, that's my choice. If I wanna gamble all night long, who's to stop me. If I wanna drink, I should be allowed to. And fuck these silly local or state laws that prevent people from drinking, who are not even driving, out in public, such as on a street corner. I mean, WTF. Is it really so bad? What are the chances they're REALLY gonna get drunk on a sidewalk? I doubt it deters drunkenness anyhow.

  • "they did it in Portugal" is not a good argument.

  • It's an appeal to common practice, if you want the name of the logical fallacy.

  • Watch "bogosity episode 4" from shanedk to see reasons why drugs should be legalized: all of them.

  • Well, if they did it in foreign, developed industrial nations like the US, and it worked there, I don't see why it can't work here. We're not all THAT different.
