I have decided to go with the Madstad Bracket after seeing my friend's set-up on his 1000 V-Strom. It a much stronger mount and can take the force of his huge MP Cycles "barn door" windscreen, which I might consider as my cold weather shield anyway.
We had it mounted in the stock bracket in the Secret Suzuki "4th" position (only 3 positions in the manual). After about 45K miles of abuse the bracket developed a crack and I've since replace it with a Madstad Bracket (also in the "4th" position.
This kind of videos make me go to suzuki store. Here, in Merida, Yucatan; Mexico, v strom 650 cost $ 96,000.00 pesos. I am waiting the phone call from the salesman to close sale. Great video. Congratulations.
I got it for 92,900.00 pesos, it´s a beauty. Much, much, much better than my old goldwing 1978. Soon I will post some videos. 120 m/hr vvvvssssssssuuuuuuummmmmm. Love it.
Great Vid. This stretch of road was just on the show EPIC RIDE. The crews had just got done repaving and they had the road all to themselves on fresh blacktop. Cool that you were both recording video there.
Cool. Did they repave it the reddish color? I would imagine so since it blends in better with the canyon. That's one of the things I noticed that day.
Great Video. I appreciate when people take the time to set up good shots (like the one from way up high). It may take time but makes all the difference when you've got good shots to work with for a video. I just posted a helmet cam video on my page. Check it out!!
i remember this vid use to play another soundtrck, do you know the name of the old song?thanx

@dandanutz777 Depends on your preferences. We rode this one 2UP to Alaska... in all practicality it was plenty for us.

I would have preferred to hear the sound of the bike instead of music.

I don't know why some of these guys think people want to hear their crappy music.

Couldn't really tell on the show. It looked black. Maybe the river stone color comes out with age?
