@golga14 Two things - 1) that smile was pretty much a dead ringer for what I remember of Dick Clark's and 2) Young at Heart....Dick Clark's nickname when he hosted American Bandstand was that he was America's Oldest Teenager...
LOL at Judy's reaction when she got it I dont think she realized that she won she probaly knew it when Michael told her that she won that was pricelees man good stuff
I got it at $4,000 and then when I figured it out, I looked back at the first picture and this big "OOOOOOOOOOOH, IT MAKES SENSE!" came out of my mouth. ha. Good stuff.
The guy's name was Michael Mackey, but what was Judy's name? Did she go on to win more contests?

The once played a joke on Ron Ely when Tommy Oliver and the band played the theme from "Tarzan", and he was somewhat embarrassed.

And then they used (at the time) the current version of Bandstand Boogie. 1957 version is way faster as im sure you all know

I forgot they used that cheesy star to show how many games the champion's won!
tvpirate05 4 years ago 5
That must have been waaaay late in the series run.
amnewsboy 3 years ago
Early, actually. They removed the star that designated the number of wins in the second season of the series.
Doug4422 2 years ago
It was a lot sooner than that, actually...I think the lit background w/the gold star was gone a coupla wks later.
