Im trying to decide between another flat tappet or a roller, and the 280H swap is some $500 cheaper than going retro roller... Just worried about reliability issues. I see this video is fairly old... how has it held up over the years? Ever lost a lobe?

Thrush systems are excellent. my brother put dual's on his rodded '81 TPI 305 Blazer. he noticed an increase in performance. pulls harder now.

They're 2-1/4" in diameter. They're kinda small, but the car doesn't seem to mind when it's time to roast the rear tires. LOL

Just tore the motor down yesterday and found "CC 280H" stamped on the front. It's a Comp Cams Magnum 280. Great cam. I already installed it into the replacement engine.

why the hell would you put cheap crappy mufflers on a car like this..sure it's loud but they won't last long and they rust out easily and they don't do anything to improve the cars performance..what a douchebag..you should be shot for even considering putting something so cheap and crappy on a classic car like this..if your car could talk it'd say "i hate you"

I didn't buy it stock. I bought it already modified (read "hacked up"). Was originally white w// blue interior. Someone painted it blue and PAINTED the interior black.

The engine was in it, which is why I'm not sure what cam. It's always had a slight rod, or maybe a main knock, but has gotten worse over time (7 yrs ago). Still ran 13.8 though, and that was with the crappy IMCO mufflers. I haven't had it back to the track since.

It's about time to swap engines, though.

Really glad to help. I still grin from ear to ear while driving it. I was actually surprised how quiet it is when I'm not tromping on it. A friend of mine drove the car a couple days ago. He got about 200 ft away, driving easy, and I couldn't hear the car anymore.

I'm impressed with the sound for the price. I ripped off the IMCO mufflers that were on it, which actually sounded OK and threw these on. I didn't know what I was missing. I'm very happy with the results.
