Ok Ok. Im a drummer and love Dave. But what the hell is wrong with Matt Cameron?? He's a phoenominal drummer. I doubt that after years and years of making music and playing it to the masses, they're not gonna hire someone who couldnt pull off the material. espeacially this material.

Matt is solid. In order to acquire this type of energy and feel...you either have to play like Dave or be Dave. Im sure they hired Matt just because eddie approved. Just my opinion.

@ilovejourney1 It's to bad Stone dident write the riff for "go" , I was the inspiration for that song , my band Moss dog our bass player was Rick St. Clair who grew up with Dave in Dallas and played in bands with him ,when he got the Pearl Jam gig he moved to Seattle ,and was sitting in as our studio drummer for a bit ,and a song I wrote for our 1st album was called "Fucked up " that Dave Abbruzess played on ,"Go' is a ripped off version of my riff that I wrote , thanks pearl jam

I couldn't say it better myself ! they're a very different band these days like they got self-conscious about their technical abilities as instrumentalists and went "punk", in the sense of deliberately- I know I'll get lots of flak for this- "empovrishing' their instrumental , becoming perhaps more 'melodic' in a trad. sense but much more conventional & losing a great deal of their original musical personality. CORRECTION: Sorry folks... I made a mistake. It was Dave Abbruzzese who played the drums for 'Not For You' -- Jack Irons apparently came much later.

Still, I dream about Pearl Jam someday managing a concert with each of its four drummers playing certain songs. Imagine, what a song list that would be :-)

Irons is magnificent on 'Not For You'--and I can't think of 'Go' without Dave's machine-gun like ending to the studio version. Amazing band--it has a guitar trinity and drum trio too! :-)

Dave Abbruzzese is more creative, technically and powerfull than Matt Cameron. As youtube user "thatlldofornow" said: matt cameron was more colourful in soundgarden, it's true . Matt was a very good drummer with Sdg. but in PJ it`s another drummer who is trying to play like Dave. Dave set a very interesting way to play drums that today it`s imitating by many drummers.

Both of them (Dave and Matt) have talent, but Abbruzzese gave a unique touch on PJ's drums and that's a mark. Today, Matt give his unique touch in songs where Dave played. I'm sure Dave can do many beats as Matt or more than him.
