  • No new ford can keep up with the 6.2l chevy. I know this because ive seen the ecoboost and 6,2 platinum run and they got 14.8s best. While the chevy ran 14.3s and 14.2s all stock!! And i got a 2011 fx4!!

  • @Mctsep Just out of curiosoty Mcstep...Why do you defend the 6.2L Silverado so hard? Just becuse you personally saw one run a 14.2 in th 1/4 doesn't mean they all will. Most 6.2L Silverados I've see run right on par with the Ford 6.2L which is high 14s...14.7 or so. And no I'm not just speaking from magazine articles I've read...I've personally watched them at the track.

  • I e personally seen a 2011 brand new stock 6.2 chevy extended cab with 20s run 14.2 . Thats in 90 degree weather! I couldnt beleave it. Ut i was with him when he picked it up from the dealer that day

  • This truck is for someone I know. It has 3.15 gears. My supercrew ecoboost F150 has 3.55. It has run a 14.57 at 94mph and has gotten over 26 mpg before.

  • @doublesizzle i know but just 30gss its still alot im not sayin im rich or poor but 30 grand is alot of cheese for a decked out ecoboost

  • all im sayin if you want a real fast as fuck man truck get a chevy 6.2 liter and if you can afford a ford ecoboost im pretty sure your rich and if your rich you just dont give a fuck about mpg lol haha wow 2 mpg diffrence haha

  • @Trx450rallday You do know you can get the Ecoboost for like 28~32k right?

  • @Trx450rallday If I wanted something the size of a 6.2, it's be the Ford 6.2. Slaughters the Chevy 6.2 all day long. (and yes, it still gets better gas mileage.)

  • 6.2 chevy stock runs 14.2 with 3.43

  • @Mctsep that chevy was older. they dont run 14s do they?

  • @jordtizzle No those older Chevy's don't come close to 14's ''Unless modified''. A stock 5.3L Chevy 1500 2WD Supercab like this one which I'm guessing to be a early 2000's model, generally ran high 15's to mid 16's down the 1/4 mile. I beleive the only stock 1/2 ton Chevy truck than can run less than 15 seconds is one powered by the big 6.2L V8.

  • I had a 2004 f150 with a 5.4 that had a best time of 15.8 in 1/4 mile and I beat unmodified chevy 5.3's.

  • @Mctsep BS!

  • @ashtrey05 I give in... you are right. lol the past couple days I've been stepping on the gas listening and there is only a slight whistle sound. not enough to support any comparison to a supercharger. The only conclusion that Ive come up with... My truck is fast as hell. Also fuel efficient. Im averaging 13.9L/100km.

  • @jonboy32367 If you want the turbos to sound louder, get an injen intake. It'll add some noise under the hood.

I have the 3.7 and even the base engine hauls. I was surprised when I stepped on the gas and the tranny downshifted to 2nd gear and the tach jumped to 7k. It goes from truck to sports car in a split sec.

  • @jonboy32367 I cant believe how fast the 3.5 ecoboost is. I love pulling up next to someone in their truck... taunting them... and then just leaving them behind.

  • racing a stock truck vs a heavily modded one proves nothing

  • Camera man sucked.

  • Ha! Love how they kept the camera on the ford after the chevy started getting away. :)

  • Forgot to add, the F150 had 3.15 gears and that is going to seriously affect quarter mile time but helps with the MPG's!

  • 100% without a doubt that sound was a supercharger. If you cant tell that, you dont know a lot about FI. If you are arguing it was the F150, then you dont know a lot about FI and you're a douche

  • @brianbat420 are you sure what you were hearing wasn't the twin turbos that every ecoboost comes with... cause thats what I was hearing...

  • @jonboy32367 tubos dont make a whining sound. superchargers do. turbos sound more like a jet.

  • @ashtrey05 Thats funny because I just picked up my f150 with an ecoboost last saturday... I have no supercharger in it that I know of. MY TWIN TURBOS MAKE A WHINING SOUND!!! stop arguing. you may think that only superchargers make that sound... but I am telling you the turbos do too. I will agree though that yes they do make a jet sound too. but even at a low speed I will hear a slight whistle coming from the turbos. the jet sound that you are hearing is the extra air being discharged.

  • @jonboy32367 this is what a f150 with a supercharger sounds like...nothing like this ecoboost truck... search F150 5.4L Roush Nitemare 35-120+mph. And then go listen to this truck with a turbo:VelociRaptor 600 Twin Turbo: 517 Rear Wheel HP Dyno Pull

  • @jonboy32367 also, it is normal for superchargers to make a whining sound. They do that because there are two big screws that twist together to force air into the motor. Turbos should not make a whining sound unless there is something wrong with the bearings or fins. The should sound like a jet (only if there is NO sounds bufffers like in the ecoboost) when they are making boost and the whoosh sound is when air pressure is let out of the turbo when the throttle is closed.

  • @jonboy32367 Well, some could say it is more of a "whistle" rather than a whining LOL!!

  • That noise is NOT coming from the Ford....turbo=whistle supercharger=whine, that chevy would run 16+ stock.

  • You can tell the Silverado was supercharged. The V8 exhaust note changed with the whine of the supercharger during gear changes.

  • I think the Chevy was probably charged...I can here a whine when you guys take off...So I assume it was a Supercharger on it.

  • @tcarp1988 u can not even hear the turbo on the f150. thats a supercharger on the chevy, turbos to not whine like that

  • Comment removed

  • @tcarp1988 I've heard stock Ecoboost's F-150's run full throttle. They dont whine like that. That's why I was thinking it was the Chevy making that noise.

  • @10bolt Ok....So lets look at some facts here...The Fords got a Charged V SIX! the Chevy have a Charged V EIGHT! The Ford weighs a good 350 to 500lbs MORE than that Chevy, The Ford DOES have a gearing disadvantage with 3.15 rear end 6-speed be damned. The Twin Turbos on the Fords V-SIX are sequential meaning to the smaller one ONLY works to make low speed driving smoother...So actually, I say YOU get the big fat fail.

  • @10bolt That 6-spd trans means dick squat at the strip since the 5 and 6 are basically overdrive gears. No real advantage there. Plus the turbos are little baby stock turbos from a manufacturer and tuned for driveability, it's not like they are aftermarket.

  • @malkowskitube those 3.15 gears really slow it down. I have 3.73 in my 4x4 ecoboost and it runs 1/4 mi 14.69 @ 94.7 MPH. Fastlane Turbo just tuned one of these trucks and it put down 387 hp and 421 tq to the wheels. Stock is about 317 hp and 350 tq at the wheels. They haven't released track numbers yet.

  • @ashtrey05 I haven't ran my 3:55 yet, got sick of waiting for a black 3:73 EB Crew to show up at a local dealership since I leased this time around. The salesman kept trying to hock the 3:15 for mpg, I was not buying it since the difference is like +0.5 mpg highway and identical if not worse city. I got 28.8 mpg on a 20 mile stretch to my house on M-59 up here in Michigan the other day when I got lucky with lights, (was 29.9 until I hit one red light near the end) averaging 21.9 over 1k mi

  • Yup, lost to the chevy. It was running mid 14's. Someone said it had a supercharger but I don't know for sure. It was not stock for sure.

  • @ChurchPointAtDrags yes the chevy was supercharged. had a maggie on it

  • @ChurchPointAtDrags you can definitely hear the supercharger whine on that chevy

  • @ChurchPointAtDrags

You can hear the supercharger whining for sure. Bet it's a blown 5.3 vortec..

  • @ChurchPointAtDrags that chevy is definitely supercharged. you can hear it whining.

  • @ChurchPointAtDrags u can deff hear a supercharge in the video

  • @ChurchPointAtDrags My god I could hear the Chevys supercharger whine like crazy. The eco is a very quick truck!

  • @ChurchPointAtDrags whose truck? if so get a hand held tuner, its like 65rwhp+

  • have not seen a turner for it give those numbers. Seen a bully dog claim of 40 something horsepower and 50 something torque. Was considering this option just to make a run at 13's. I am afraid that traction would be an issue with one of these though.

  • @ChurchPointAtDrags it may have been have been with a cold air kit though. i know that the f150 and taurus really pick up high gains because of the turbos

  • who won lol don't tell me the chevy
