Hey squirrelod great videos but i have two disagree with u and haveing a 550 sized motor in the hyper or jammmin im running a 3800 kv motor on a 2s lipo and and im toping out at 48 mph and and im not saying ur wrong or any thing what was ur gearing in the hyper thanks
@penutbutter4luv A 540 sized motor will burn up and stress out in the dirt. The motor that you are using a 550 sized motor, so by default, you agree with my findings of 550 sized motors. Most that drive SC trucks drive with 550 sized motors. The Traxxas stock, Tekin SC4x, the Castle SC systems, etc are all 550 sized motors and they are that way for the above reasons; which is why they highly suggest not using the regular mamba
But Squirrel, I Don't Want 2 do Research or Study or Math or Work or Watch Educational Videos! I Just Want U 2 Tell Me What 2 Do 2 My Truck 2 Make it The Sickest and Fastest and Phattest Truck in My Neighborhood and My Track and The World! BTW - If I Send U My Truck, Will U Fix it Like U Suggest and Send it Back 2 Me? I'll Pay The Shipping 2 U! U R So Smart 2!
Squirrel , i'm just looking for a gd racing / bashing Motor and ESC . Me and my friends get together to see who has the fastest SC Truck :-)) so I need your help to tell me what kind of Tekin Motor and ESC to get and also the size pinion gear
@cokc23p36 You need to watch my Electric U and Lipo U vid series then. I cannot advise what is best for you and your circumstances. Using the formula KV * V= RPM then you should be able to see what ball parks you and the series will also explain how you can gear and set the ESCs up for lower KVs. The highest KV is not always the fastest but this depends on how you setup your kit to handle the speed and also how much voltage you are going to apply. Again, I cannot advise.
@cokc23p36 If you race you will want a SC motor that is smaller than the 1/8th. Yes, it is 1/10th scale like the scale of this truck. Gearing will be subject to your kit. Probably not. I went with lower KV 1/8th as a bash setup and it did well on the track, over geared to handle it perfectly, and it handled great compared to other 4wd SCs on the track. If I wanted to race I would have to swap motors per my tracks rules. You will need to find your own gearing and track rules.
Squirrel , I liked ur video on the traxxas Slash 4x4 against the Ofna Jammin 4x4 10e . UR review made me pick the Ofna Jammin 4x4 10e . My question is what size Tekin rx8 KV motor should I used and do u have 2 switch the gears and what sizes
I have been waiting on a comparison on these 2 for a little while. My friend bought the Jammin and loves it, but i didn't want to go out and buy the same and look like a copy cat, so i was seriously considering the Hyper or AE.
Change of mind ;)
Jammin it is!!!!!
Speaking of RC18T2, Squirrel, check out mine in the RC18 thread at Toyz. "RC18T2, My first kit project".
@skyliner2213 I cover the material that I have and take as long as it needs.
If you dislike the length of the videos- dont watch. Its my channel and I will put out what I like, what I want, and make them as long as I want. Just like if you have an issue then you dont have to watch.
@skyliner2213 skyliner you can shut the F*uck up asshole Iam so fuckin sick of hearing F*ucks like you tryin to tell Brian to make his videos shorter most people would like them to be longer so dont ever comment that BS again.
@skyliner2213 If he condenses the information, you're gonna miss a lot. Squirrel knows what he's talking about, and he takes his time to make sure other people learn the information well. Don't like it? GTFO
Out of all my kits, my Slash 4x4 Platinum Edition is my favorite. Now if I like my Slash that much, I should really buy a Jammin SCRT10. If it is agood as you say it is, I might just bust a nut when I drive it...lol.
i whas woundering wy you did not have questions to your "Water VS Foams" mainly because i was woundering if they they have the closed cell for crawlers and if you would realy need them if you mainly arround snow also if the foam would affect the way the tires work on the rocks
@gotaxial I grew tired of the "its not a minute if it is 3 minutes long" and other immature comments. So, every PLM is no comment allowed.
Its also something that I am considering on other videos. I dont get paid to do anything nor do I have to answer questions. It takes a lot of time away from my work and family.
Hey squirrel I know this question is off topic for this video, but I have wanted to ask you this for a while. In your opinion what are some worthy upgrades for the savage flux besides the tvp's you showed? I think that the aluminum shock set looks nice, I have already bent a shock shaft so I am considering this. I already have rpm arms and better tires, I do not feel the need for a stronger servo. I look forward to your reply, thanks!
@nut3344 Stock savages, anymore, are pretty much what people were putting on them to fix them. There is not much to upgrade unless you are having issues with something specific. For your shock, consider the big bore, LST shock upgrade, or getting alum towers. RPM can get very flexy and that might be why.
Great vid, I have the Jammin and love it. Only thing I disagree on is the need for a 550 motor. I'm running mine with the Velineon system on 2s and the thing rips. Way faster than I need it to be.
@sloracer1080 Ive had the velineon in the hyper and it was ok. Lots of speed as well. Compared to a 550, it does not have the torque. If you have the choice to have either all speed or torque with that speed that allows gearing options; Ill take the one that is more versatile.
Its not for everyone, but many are running 550s now.
@Squirrelod That's true, the overhead torque is nice to have i'm sure. I race on a pretty tight track, so the Velineon does pretty well on it. I think a 550 would give me a ton of wheelspin. But like you said, to each his own :)
I'm wondering what your opinion on the Zippy/Fligthmax batteries is; so many people say good things but also so many bad things. I know that a fair few of them come with totally unbalanced cells.
@daleyb93 After all of my Maxamps ballooned I was hesitant to get more over the cost. That is when I tried Zippys with real hesitation. Every Zippy that I have bought since 2008 has been fine and I still have them. 2s, 3s, 4s, 6s, and 8s lipos. Id say that total I have owned about 30 of them with no issues or complaints.
Again, the last batch of MaxAmps was a $600 and all of them ballooned within a month. The batch before that, early 2007, I still have.
@Squirrelod purchased other smaller scale maxamps as they were the ones offering the kit specific earlier. All of those have ballooned. Those were packs purchased in 09 and 10.
The Hyper 10's steering issue can be solved by adding the Jammin Bellcrank.. sometimes its the best of both worlds.. I am running a Novak Ballistic SC 4.5 550 can in mine.. and its awesome
Hey Squirrel, I have a 4wd Slash and was wondering what tires I should get for my backyard track. Its mostly clay with some dirt on top. It's sometimes wet and sometimes dry. Got any suggestions?
