  • bmp3 better the k-21 reasons :

    1. bmp3 use 100mm cannon and 30mm autocannon ( k-21 only use 40mm autocannon ).

    2 bmp3's engine put at back(k-21 are front ).

3 bmp don't need Air cushion to cross the river.

  • @2942jack

It would have been better if we had actually designed this after buying a BMP3. It seems that we made this like a Bradley

  • @2942jack But K-21 has fire control system that's good enough to shoot down a chopper in flight. did you see the drone getting shot down with a 3-round burst (air burst btw). The 40mm shell of K-21 can be programmed instantaneously for impact, airburst, timer.

  • I don't like the way it throws the shell casing high and forward. Hull down or in a lot of smoke you might not see the K-21 until it fires and that shiny brass arcing in the sky advertises "here I am". What happens when you fire from a tunnel or under a bridge. Better to eject low and rearwards.

    Everything else I like.

  • state of art equipment vs Soviet T-72...

  • at 3:04 the guy is saying..."Oh man my days of Duck Hunt are going to pay off"

  • Now the Chinese have a sample of this. It was seized in Hong Kong coming back from exhibition in Saudi Arabia. Lesson is, never use a Chinese port to ship your weapons back.

  • @stalkingalizee what is their excuse for seising it?

  • @stalkingalizee Maersk shipping screwed up. The sample was shipped on a Maersk cargo ship which made the stop in Hong Kong. The manufacturer of S Korea shares the blame too...

  • glad us and sk are on the same side

  • @Basti6814

You are german. Of course you will say that.

  • @MokomaSusi i say that, cause it´s a fact...

  • what was that last part all about? 3:27

  • it does look like a bradly.though a few diffences

  • Needs some work on turret and reactive armor at both sides

  • they're prototype

  • Very nice design. I hope eventually we'll have a chance to incorporate similar into the Brad, expanding upon what was done with the "BUSK Kit". There are plans for a Block 2.0 upgrade, but probably not see that for another 4-5 years.

BTW,...what type of ATGMs is the K-21 using? They look smaller the TOWs, but I could be wrong. Local? Or maybe Spikes?

  • K-21 will use not the Spike but the indigenous 3rd gen. ATGM which is under developing.

  • Looks like a formidable fighting vehicle.

  • wish i had one of those...

  • nice ride man...

  • anyone else think that it looks almost exactly like a m2 bradley?

  • @Modusoperandicod4

Does m2 have a 40mm cannon? can m2 cross a river unaided? Can m2 fire airburst round that can hurt enemy hiding behind building? Can m2 fire airburst cannons that can actully shoot down low flying uav and choppers?

  • turkiye rely needs this new type of apc chassis

  • turkey and south korea are partners in war supplies. turkey bought a lot of the new korean mbt's

  • we have no mbt yet were still making it in the project

  • you guys have 400 K-9s

  • i love this ifv i feel the usa should build a new ifv,we had one coming on line but got cut :( but a 40mm gun could be seen as to big for shooting alot 30mm 30/35mm in dp will be more useful. but the 40mm is a killer

  • king tiger FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • awesome video!! iff kim kim keeps his tantrums up hes gonna see these tanks up close an personal real soon =)

  • how much for one of this unit weki says 3.6 mil but that seems low

  • Hi from Turkey

  • Hey Turkey should buy this too

I heard Greece bought bunch of bmp-3s to knock you guys down

  • the bmp is no where good as this k21 ifv

  • @Conservativepacheat

True, it started it's career as light tank. But then someone did get "great idea" to make it IFV... that explains why motor is behind the vehicle and not in front like most other IFV's.

Not best solution in IFV when you have to climb over the engine when dismounting.

  • as you say, It's an IFV not an APC

  • wtf happened at the end?

  • Import factor of this IFV is their ability of a fuction, the spec seems it has strongest ability among IFV's in the world..Pretty good job. I am just curious if US has participated the project to help South Korean army

  • @jiyojee

I'm pretty sure not much if any help/assistance was provided by US. Someone commented US firms tried to interfere in the development of K200 (previous SK IFV) saying it was a copy of US M113. SK engrs ended having to show schematics to prove it wasn't. SK can design Aegis Destroyer on own. Only US 'help' was buying the components such as AEGIS Radar system...

  • very good look

  • only k-21 can shoting while moving in the world (IFV)

  • It looks more likely the M2 Bradley of the US Army.

  • helicopter killer.

  • i like the russian bmp-3 better......

  • Oh OKAAAYYY

  • You make me laugh :)

  • This is the new infantry fighting vehicle...basically a armored car...that can shoot down planes... lol

  • is k-21 better then russian bmp3?

  • No of course not.

  • Well you have to look at all the specs and the function. Note that the BMP-3 doesn't need to deploy pontoons to go into water and has excellent maneuverability. Firepower is probably equaled out because there is so much you can fit into a light armored vehicle, but rapid medium fire support / transport would probably go to the BMP-3. The K-21 has a lot of defensive capabilities with variations in the ammo such as specialized anti-air shells and mid air exploding anti personel shells.

  • @neonagasaki if it was better, then why would they still buy BMP3

  • SOuth-Korea isn't buying any BMP-3's.

  • @MokomaSusi look up bmp3 on wiki u'd be suprised

  • @NebPWN @NebPWN, South Korea didn't exactly purchased BMP3, it was delievered as exchange for Russia's credit debt that owned from South Korea (instead of paying it with money, both Russia and Korea agreed to replace some of them with weapons).

BMP-3 and T-80U were delivered to South Korean army as both purpose of experiment and study as well as well as put into front line (which is around borders of DMZ).

  • ROK army and ADD took advantage of this and with studied datas from BMP-3, they used those datas to develop this new IFV K-21.

As far as I know K-21 is now under production and under delivery to mechanized divisions of ROK army, and BMP-3s (70 of them in total) are just a extra.

  • @neonagasaki you actually cant compare BMP-3 and K-21... there are more than 20 years between them. K-21 is superior to BMP-3 in some aspects like armor and weaponry and this is no wonder, because K-21 was developed to:

    1. withstand fire of the BMP's 30-mm autocannon

    2. penetrate BMP's armor with own gun (40 mm)

So... u better compare BMP- 3 with some IFV, that Korea used like 15-20 years ago. This will be fair.

  • I would have liked to see the Halon discharge.

  • Gotit123,

I saw a video clip of them testing Halon discharge in the crew compartment but can't remember where...

  • New korea tank is XK2

  • Impressive... now what does Kimland have to counter this? :D

  • hundreds of thousands more soldiers but lousy equipment.

  • In other words: Cannon fodder ;)

  • at least can beat chink imitaion tank

  • Stand in front of it's cannon and bear your pride against it, let us see what you're made of.

  • Looks like a CV9040. Are those side pontoons supposed to make it lighter and thus faster on water? What happens if they take fire? Good fire control. Does it have an export version?

  • albertkc2007,

I think most of the 'flotation device' is covered by side armor when it's deployed. I'm sure it's in trouble if fired upon while traveling on water. HOWEVER, K-21 doesn't have to cross river/stream when it's defended. It can just move to another spot less defended. It's the 'potential threat' of this that gives extra edge to K-21...

  • Both K21 and K2 MBT are expecting for PIP (Post Improvement Project).

The PIP includes Active defence system and more improved armour.

Actually no one knows what kind of armour is using the k21, but is true that k21's defence system not only depends on heavy armour, in stead of that it pretends to destroy the enemy anti tank missile or escaping from attack zone after the radar detection of enemy gun fire.

  • The best IFV is the CV90...

  • Maybe, maybe not. In terms of armor, no one beats the new German Puma anyway. K-21 has same firepower as CV-9040 with the 40mm gun, more modern fire-control system, fitted for, but not with BMS and so on. I think superior fire-control puts K-21 at edge.

  • what type of missile is that in the launcher?

  • IIR-seeker guided top-attack anti-tank missile under development at the moment. Israeli Rafael Spike is roughly same.

  • main gun is 40mm vovos cannon gun

  • Excuse me, but the K21 is not an Auto-Tractor.

    It's IFV (infantry fighting vehicle).

  • i know j-10 s are paper planes

  • Holy shit that's a impressive auto-cannon

  • The gun is a 40 mm Bofors L/70, its a more modern version of the Bofors L/60 wich was used in world war II.

  • That's amazing

  • Fighting! Korean Army. Kill our enemies.

  • I heard this is helicopter killer..south korea army wonderful

  • wow
