  • Its simple ....its Halloween for Adults ..and everyone is happy and having fun ... thats all that matters .

  • That was a great documentary!!! I am going to the 2012 Dragon Con. Thank you for showing me what to expect.

  • 2011 will be the 25th anniversary of Dragon*Con. Now we have 5 host hotels The Marriott, The Hyatt, The Hilton, The Sheraton and The Weston. The parade is bigger than ever. The guests are bigger than ever, and the party is bigger than ever. I wouldn't miss a moment of it.

  • i'd love to see a 2008 one an a 2009 when possible, they have been adding Halo Spartans to the parade! i hope to be a part of that next year for the 2010 parade

  • Very nice video. excelent. :)

  • Needed more Kroenen :-)

  • The bit at 9:21 is the best so far. It's good to see someone knows how to make a documentary: tell us about the subject and people's thoughts on it. Lots of "documentaries" I've looked up are hardly edited.

Ya need a bigger crew to cover some of the events, panels, etc.

Nice cover of "new world man".

  • it must be bad ass to see all the clones walking in the street

  • Im going to dragon-con next year as a ringwraith...

  • i didnt know the futurama guy did all the voices...

  • 1:13...OMG QUAGMIRE XDD

  • If anything, a lot of things long associated with geeks have gone pretty mainstream. Personally, I don't think it's an entirely bad thing at all. For one thing, it's nice to have more women into it, the costuming has gotten a ton better, and most people seem to treat it like it's supposed to be: FUN.

  • Thank you for this video- I am attending for the first time and this helped me get a general feel for what I'm getting myself into! :) Thanks again!

  • never been

  • Great video!!! I posted it on my page.

  • It's the biggest Otaku Convention ever !!!!

  • It's not an Otaku convention...The only thing in this video that resembled Otakus were the two Akatsuki cosplayers, the nine-tailed fox, Kiba and Shino.

  • "Good news eveyone; Bad news!" lol

  • Hey isn´t that chinese guy from Mythbusters??? What is he doing there???

Well doesn´t care since he loves it, damn what a nice con, I wish I were there once only...

  • Billy West, OMG, what a talent!

  • Very nicely done. I know a lot of people planning their first trip to DragonCon, and have pointed your video out to help them get a feel for the convention.

  • Whats the music at the end. the bagpipes.

  • As one of the filmmakers (and voice of narration) involved in this short, it warms my heart (and brings a tear to my eye) to see these comments and know there are people out there that have enjoyed and appreciated this piece.

We shot so much footage and only had 2 cameras, so I feel accomplished to have done the event justice (for the attenders and for the general public).

Thanks ever so much for your support!

(This was my introduction to the 'con' scene, so what an experience!)

  • Yes, it was also hilarious as you captured some really good moments, like that pentagon-man's costume collapsing...even though it wasn't all that funny, I couldn't resist thinking, "Poor guy..."

  • We did feel pretty bad for him, he was dressed up as a d20, and if I remember correctly he could actually sit down inside the thing and close himself up inside of it.

  • It would still be cumbersome to move around in that thing, though. Might be possible to remove one or two faces (or more) to stick your arms, legs and head through. Hinged faces might also be an idea.

I'm still massively impressed by the scale of DragonCon. What's the visitor count over the weekend? Around 100K? I think it would be near impossible to get such a big event happening in Europe.

  • The man featured at 2:22 in the red hued leather armor is Michael Cook, of Studio Kensai. He created everything you see him wearing.

  • isnt is just plain AWESOME!! Fabulous work!

  • YAAAY I saw Sithcamaro aka Toby Markham aka Captain Jack Sparrow!!! *Snoopy Dance* :D

  • Yeah Toby Markham Like Jack Sparrow, The Sithcamaro yeah

  • Great video good overview of what goes on, i would love to go oneday. Thought i might see a glimpse of the famous sithcamaro aka Toby Markham as Jack Sparrow and was pleasantly surprised to see him get a speaking line aswell, well he is the best afterall.

  • Have some good sense about your valuables, get drunk at the proper level and be careful what you have sex with and you can have the time of your life. Go once and your Labor Day weekend plans are pretty much set for the rest of your life.

  • thats awsome XD its grant

  • BWHAHHAHA im going this year, along with my friend WHOOT!

  • Thanks for posting the video

  • that was super-cool! thanks for posting it, I have never been and now want to go more than ever!

  • Fantastic work--I think you've captured its essence.

And I must know the name of the final song.

  • The song used for the credits is by a band that performs at Epcot called "Off-Kilter" and is titled "Brenda Stubbert's Reel/Metro Boys"

  • Holy crap! This is the BEST documentary I've ever seen of D*C! You did an AWESOME job of providing a solid summary of an event that has more facets than one can count. Killer short film!

  • Gotta love the pirates! (Definitely could use some footage of the Miss Klingon Empire pageant!)

  • We tried to get as much as we could of all the events, unfortunately, some things just were scheduled such that it would be nearly impossible without more cameras and crew. I like the sound of a miss klingon pageant though, so I'll try to get some of it this coming year ;)

  • Great job on the video! Just now seeing this, due to a link posted on LiveJournal.

Although, you left out all of us crazy Lord of the Rings people :(

  • We filmed over 11 hours of footage, and unfortunately somethings just didnt make it into the final cut. I'm currently working on getting everything setup for next year, so I'll try to stick some in there then ;)

  • Thanks for a very professional overview of last years Dragon*Con!! I was the Black comic book version Spidey in the video! Awesome con!!

  • thats so cool, ive never heard of Dragon-con so thank you for showing us all. Im a big fan of Futurama and Red Dwarf and until now i thought i was possibly too old but now i know that these programs are for people of all ages.

  • that dude was from mythbusters.

  • Awesome...! I was there! Check out Rex-Batman 00:20

  • Great job! This was my first Dragon*Con and I can't say enough how amazing it all was! Four days of just complete partying. I really cannot wait to go back next year. ^.^

  • great job. You gave a really good overview of Dragoncon. Love that con!

  • great job guys!

  • IF you get a chance to do this next year try to get some footage of the Buffy Horror Picture show and the Dawn look alike contest.

  • Awesome Job. I see you all there for my 5th one in a row.
