People often assume that HIV... works outside the body. And it does, eventually, but it's never really clear cut. There are many straw like people out there, gaunt in figure, are they all HIV positive? Of course not. HIV works INSIDE... and by the time effects are showing outside, it's most probably too late

Contrary to popular belief, Rock Hudson did not get AIDS from sex. He actually got it from a blood transfusion when he had a heart bypass in 1981, back then of course it wasn't customary to check blood samples from blood banks for HIV seeing as no one knew what it was.

I'm no expert on medicine but apparently because Rock was in good physical health most of his life and medication he was taking at the time contributed to him living a further four years, also he had to check with all his previous partners about HIV and none of them were positive, making his blood transfusion the only possible source as Rock Hudson never knowingly did drugs. Hudson was in terrible shape he drank and was a very heavy smoker over 3 or 4 packs a day at least. He often visited bathhouses and often picked up boys. He was able to fend off the fullblown AIDS for a little longer than most because of his money. But, he probably had it from 81 to 85. That really isn't long. Especially having the best medical care at that time. Fours years is not long and remember the last two he really started looking bad. Just look at this clip. At 58 or 59 he looks 70.

You are 1000% correct. I've looked at a lot of clips of Rock from the 80s. In the Mirror Crack'd (1980) he looks perfectly healthy, but in Devlin Connection (1982), you can already see the clear beginnings of gauntness setting in.
