Not really. Its 1995 outbreak only saw just over half of the cases resulting in death. That was in Africa, as in the place full of countries that can't afford good hospitals. The death rate in the states would be less. It would spread much faster, but it wouldn't kill basically everyone like the thing in this movie. It wouldn't be pretty, but it wouldn't be like this movie.

Interesting trailer, but the movie is disjointed and not very tense at all which is the last thing you want given the subject matter of this film. A lot of talent is just wasted in this. About the only thing I can think of positive to say is that if you don't like Paltrow, you'll get some catharsis in the first part of the film. (I'm sure there were loads of people in the theater thinking, "That's what you get for being in 'Sky Captain'!'")
