  • I think the crew have enough to cope with without sails!

  • Il comandante di questa navo sará Francesco Schettino

  • Titanic in (2015 - 2020)

  • I guess the next series of ships after this one will have oars sticking out both sides.

  • i can see this being one of those things that doesn't work at all, and everyone who is the first to be on it will die

  • it is not gonna go under bridges LOL forget that

  • why the fuck are there sails?

  • wow it'll take u 50 years to get anywhere with this one

  • greenpeace will like this

  • Brand new technology guys! SAILS! Why didn't we think of this 20 or 30 years ago!?

  • Ohh. I'm sorry is there only 4 life boats? 2 on each side?!

  • costa needs 2 new ships!

  • That ship looks epic.

  • ugly,realy ugly

  • Is ot just me, or was the back open with no window? That is really dangerous

  • круто

  • Why?? Cruises are for people who can't plan holidays. I'd rather take a small yacht.

  • @SuperAshai Total understatement. If you would actually take a look at the cruises, for example the Oasis of the Seas. Probably the most beautiful cruise ship I have ever been on. It doesn't mean you can't plan holidays, it means you save money and hassle while being on a ship sailing to different parts of the world. Instead of buying a 700 dollar plane ticket for each and every family member. Plus the food and all the entertainment.

  • @blagh567 Who wants to be holed up in a floating hotel when they could be soaking up all the destination country has to over. I just don't see the point in being surrounded by people and things you could see at home. I'd never pay for a cruise with a view of the ship's deck!

  • Screw the looks. Save the world :)

  • Cool ship

  • I hope it's just on that one particular ship and what if a little kid slips away from their parents and fall off

  • @AdrienneandAlyssa What if one of the third-world refugees working the ship throws your ass over board. It happens all the time. Cruise ships are dangerous for many reasons.

  • Regular cruise ship lifeboats?

    I'm in bitches!

  • There might be one big PRoblem .. The sails will tilt the ship making the cruise uncomfortable.

  • @blazemk ship is prolly to heavy

  • @blazemk nah i don't think so, the cruise will probably be to heavy for it to get tilted. trust me whoever designs this will probably take care of it.

  • @accons125 Yeah if we keep using anymore oil we're in trouble so in the future The sky and air isnt polluted

  • We're really carefull of the earth I the future aren't we? :D

  • I'm looking forward to seeing this wonder go from concept to reality. :)

  • with sails?)

  • francesco schettino for commandant!!

  • Vote Adama for commandant !!!

  • Warning. WE DONT WANT TITANICS ANY MORE.. STOP PEOPLE KILLER.

  • one way to drop your cell phone into the ocean haha and wait your telling me our piss will turn into drinkable water ? pass

  • @ninendowii2000 Lol, you realise we do that already right? One theory as to why male impotence is on the rise as well as more people being gay, as a pose to social repression and greater awareness is that estrogen, being virtually impossible to completely process out of water is being drunk en mass by pretty much everyone in the developed world. Sorry to burst your bubble. Its the price of modern living, we need more water than we have. Water from faeces also goes back into the system.

  • That ship will never happen

  • "more environmentaly friendly ships" ????

    gimme a break !

if you wanna protect the sea don't build them !…

  • Back to the sails again...

  • wow where finally going back to sails

  • Now a new part of youtube the How did i get here? part

  • All very nice but are all the innovative tach your going on about just a load of pish?

  • tickits are probably 10 times as much.

  • made in China

  • Anyone who spouts negativity and disbelief: stop it. The world changes, that's how it works, and you need to be open minded. The human race is better than we think. We will work through the sour pit the world is in now, and we will be doing amazing things in the future. Building a mere cruise ship is not even laugh worthy compared to what we'll be doing in this century

  • Awesome!! Can't wait

  • These people are hallucinating! The amount of of steel alone would push the cost of the ship into the trillion dollar range! Meaning tickets would cost in the million dollar range to make the ship profitable! And the narrator sounds like the one from the movie "Westworld." And just imagine a ship like this doing a Costa Concordia!

  • This gets you no closer to the ocean than being on the tenth floor of a seaside resort hotel.

  • sails made from hemp

  • Oh my titanic all over again

  • That ship has a very ugly design, we should go back to the Titanic designs!

  • I like this idea of recycled water, but why not create a collection device where you can catch, purify, and store sea water? You can dispose recycled water back into the ocean and no harm will be done.

  • This isn't "revolutionary" to use sails, saving energy. This would be "renniasanceary"

  • looks like someone made part of the axiom from wallie as a boat now XD

  • how many banks you need to rob for this one?

  • @turkmuslim4ever you gotta need to rob the federal reserve, maybe,.

  • @estesoyojajaja lol not that im gonna rob (lets do it!)

  • Just as long LNG stays liquid!

  • Wind is back!

  • Meanwhile somewhere close by... a tsunami appears.

  • they should build a ship you can land a small plane on

  • @MadtownChucknut like... an aircraft carrier?

  • @jasumirp for public use... not military... smartass

  • @MadtownChucknut You mean an aircraft carrier right??

  • its not ugly looks like a beast u just scared

  • da

  • suuure.. now people give a fuck about the environment... to late for that!

  • @jdrubay14 The sails are computer controled and would furl in if the winds picked up. They might keep one or two part way out (storm configuation) to maintain stablity.

  • the sail s are too big -.-

  • @Umbrella6826 Why do you think that they are to large?

  • Futuristic!

  • It's a big catamaran. Whoopee.

  • @2ndOfficerCHL But it burns very little fuel. Most cruise ships burn 6 tonnes of marine gas oil per hour. Overall it has a miles per gallon figure of 0.00753 or moves 40 foot per gallon of fuel burned. At this time, the wind is free. But who knows that some day the government might try to tax that too. ;-)

  • @captainjack63 HOWEVER! The problem with this is that aesthetics still count. There's no way you could convince me that this is a good-looking ship or something I'd want to sail on. It's like the SMARTcar. It's conspicuous consumption in reverse, bending over backwards to look green and clean and erasing any trace of dignity in the process.

  • Your special. You want to go to The Island. The Island awaits you.

  • @dantheman9758 LOL that was a cool movie. You know they copied that story line from the movie Logan's Run? If you haven't seen it, check it out. It's on DVD. You'll see The Island is direct rip off of the story.

  • LNG converter to its gas state will expand 600 times it's liquid state. This is a very good low pressure method of storing NG. Oh and the cost of LNG is already becoming cheaper than diesel and other bunker fuels.

  • @captainjack63 LNG is the future, if they can fit a LNG converter in a car that doesn't cost a million dollars?, the possibilities would be endless!!!!

  • @captainjack63 Its still 40% less energy by volume then diesel (as a pose to 75% less in its gaseous form). I'm not disagreeing with you just pointing it out. Realistically the additional space required for fuel storage is a mute point for trains and ships by and large. Though the weigh is the big limiting factor for converting planes to LNG. The tanks are fairly substantial by necessity.

  • Very good design. What most people don't know it that this trimaran hull and sail configuration will help make this ship more stable (in roll) than other ships in the industry. Currently ships use a combination of gyros and stabilizers to counteract roll.

LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) is the maritime fuel of the future that is already in use in cargo ships. NG in its liquid state is very safe. If you fill a cup of LNG, you could dip a lit cigaret into the cup and it would go out. LNG converter

  • Here's the bad side.

If it capsizes, the ship will sink. Water will break the windows, and if it's double skin windows, unless I misheard, it's even more dangerous in a way. Water will rapidly flood. 4 lifeboats. Dangerous.

  • @mimo7772512 Not to mention that Terrorists will be targeting these cruise ships to seek chaos in the world. Correct?

  • @fanboy668 Cities are targets and you don't see us removing cities. Its just a fact of life we lived with for many years.

  • @captainjack63 Just my opinion, you'll never know what they'll do next...

  • @mimo7772512 It's not going to capsize. It's more stable than your everyday cruise ship for it has out runners on the side of the ship. This is common to many trimaran sailing today. Windows would be tempered and have a lining to protect them. Similar to what you see in cars. SOLAS requires life-boats for every passenger. This is just a mock up, not the real thing.

  • @mimo7772512, that can happen to any cruise ship. Last time I saw one, it had a lot of windows...

  • May be good for the environment but making it will FUCK IT UP HARD!

  • @ObeYoR Not really. Many ship yards are now practicing more eco friendly ship building. Its a money saver and also it's good PR.

  • thats sick

  • @xSnoiDz Wait until you see what they are thinking up next!

  • ppl be careful the designer is Italian !!

  • Yea cause cars and trucks never crash!

  • I don't like big boats, planes, trains !!! They all some how end up in crashes, turn overs, sinks... Explosions!!! Fuck that shit I'll stick to the car and truck etc.

  • @Teamdigit1 your retarted i just got back from a cruise it was simply amazing

  • @Teamdigit1 More people die in auto accidents then any other form of transportation.

  • @Teamdigit1, ...which are the most dangerous forms of transportation ;)

  • All us poor folks will get to cruise in the old ships..

  • stupid idea WILL NEVER WORK, the sails will block out the sun and in a storm the sails will make the ship more unstable. With those huge sails just all u need is a strong wind to blow the ship over.

  • @MattRowland95 Actually the ship is more stable than currently ships in service. You see those little out rigger floats on the side of the ship. That's what keeps it upwright. Many racing sailboats use this when racing around the world. The sails can be retracted when the winds pick up.

  • sorry, didnt get. the generator of energy of this ship will work on natural gas under the pressure ???? can you imagine how huge should be a ship's gas tank to provide enough electricity for this monster? so it will be same dangerous as gas carrier and if it detonates from the storm or hurricane all those few lifeboards willl be useless cause survivals will be zero

  • @kenig2010 CNG (compressed natural gas) I don't think they would use this form of storage. Now days many ships and trucks are using LNG (Liquid Natural Gas). What the difference? Well if you chill NG to -329 deg F the gas becomes liquidified. In fact it shrinks down 600 times its gas state. Talk about awesome storage capacity! It's also safe. You can even put a match to it and it would go out.

  • @kenig2010, LNG tanks take around 7 times as much space as fuel oil tanks due to insulation etc.

Also, you can shoot an Exocet missile through an LNG carrier without blowing it up...

  • If that ever happens (it wont) but say it does. Well be having a cruise ship Americas cup and Sydney to Hobart race to see which ship is the fastest.....lol

  • @samuelgoldthorpe99 LOL I wish! hahaha

  • that'll be cool but the flags need to go

  • mentira

  • Innovative propulsion system apparently equals an enclosed prop. That's FAR from innovative.

  • @EOverM It's more like ducting of a jet ski. No one has applied that to a ship before.

  • Okay this ship freakens sucks the ship really i like are ones better they this cruise ship barley has any outside and our it mostly outside lol i think our is better

  • nice~ itll be the new target for pirates :D.. luxury life? rich people on board. no and i see no defense :D

  • Hope the quality of the captains improves by then...

  • @jkerr816 Agreed. Most captain's are very good. But like any other company, sometimes you get a few bad apples. Most of us would have been dragged off the ship if something like that happened. We are that dedicated.

  • more like a computer geeks dream rather than the future of a cruise ship

  • @highwaymantokyo It will save the cruise ship companies money. Trust me it will get built.

  • AWESOME IT LOOKS WIERD BUT AWESOME

  • @Silentwolf47 Yeah I agree. I would look better if it looked more like a sailboat and not like a cruise ship with sails.

  • damn its ugly!

  • Environmentally friendly or not, that is one fucking ugly ship.

  • Lmao the sails would have to be bigger than the empire state building

  • But what if I fall off? I'm not a clever man.

  • They should build a hull under New Zealand and navigate the world, promoting it as the LOTR on the seas.

  • yep. this is good. lets hope this will get done and have a future to protect our oceans.

  • royal caribbean?

  • Go on a Trip across the sea..swim in a Pool

  • They should build airfield runway on the roof with Airbus in case any emergency

  • I like the design but the sails are way to fucking big

  • ha ha the somalian boys will love you , place your bets for the gulf of aden transit time !!

  • STOP at 0:51 you can see there are buildings on the right buoyancy wing and not on the other, if a heavy wind picks up and blows your boat more to the right its going to turn over and possibly break off and sink. i dont like the idea of the big sails, there 2 big, perhaps they could switch to solar panels instead.

  • @Cizza225, there's no danger of capsizing with a trimaran. When one hull lifts out of the water and the other is submerged, the rightening moment is insanely high.

  • @tupsumato Your're exactly right! Thanks for the chime in! ;-)

  • @Cizza225 More power in wind than curretnly in solar pannels. Also the sails are more cost effective over solar panels.

  • The question is how does this ship is going to behave on a huge storm. Are the sails foldable so they can withstand gale force winds? How is the vessel going to behave on massive storm? Is it going to be stable enough?Being a trimaran might give it some stability but on the other hand such massive architecture might behave in a very different way than a smaller vessel.

  • Man. The Taliban will have quit literaly a feild day on TITANIC 2. :D

  • but its so ugly...

  • if this sinks, it will be crushed by the water and REALLY 4 lifeboats? did you learn about titanic

  • it looks stupid, the whole thing is ugly. the multie hull design is UGLY, IT LOOK SO STUPID, UGLY SHIP!the sails are stupid. i mean really, were not in 1776 anymore people!

  • 4 Lifeboats, even if they were the size of ferries they wouldn't hold the entire ship. The sails are pointless and too tall/unstable anyway. To top it off, it looks like someone mashed up Oasis of the seas and threw on giant sails...

  • I really don't think that those sails are going to do anything.

  • with this made out of mild steel governised with zinc, yep thats going to work

  • there is only one word that could describe this plan: stupid.

  • cool new titanic no lifeboats ?

  • @plasterofparisify ...... life boats are always important no matter how advanced a ship is. Check current news before u comment or insult other ppl.

  • How it that getting under bridges?

  • @rehtafdoC its a cruise, why would it be going in rivers or bays? i dont even think ive seen a bridge tall enough for even todays large cruises so its insane height wouldnt be a problem with getting to any current cruise port

  • @marinefootball45 There are many ports that require shits to travel under bridges to access them!

  • @marinefootball45 theya re there comingout of ny you have one thats close they keep building thease ships bigger and bigger and we will have another titantic and i think the fun ship showed you the captians could care les are on your own all the people who died listen to crew and went back in their cabins, rebell and live

  • @rehtafdoC Its not

  • @rehtafdoC It wont port anywhere that has height restrictions....duh

  • @rehtafdoC no one's ever heard of collapsable sails?

  • @rehtafdoC i don't think it's made for passing under bridged

  • That lady's voice is putting me in the mood.

  • sorry, i don't speak very good english, but the lifeboats are few and they are located in another hull and is difficult to get in case of emergency, another point is the bottom! is not good if it is flat because in case of waves the impact with the sea would cause severe shock to the structure of the vessel.

  • @theEXTREMI lolz we are gonna save the nature with that vessel but not ourselves

  • @theEXTREMI this is a concept not the actual ship, I'm sure that when they build it they will follow the millions of government regulations and put life boats on it.

  • and the price???

  • Hope the propeler can run on solar power..

  • they playy to much minecraft...

  • its freaking ugly as sin! though D:

  • Im getting one

  • And when it sinks you won't be able to get off quickly enough!

  • That ship look shite where's the surf machines, the mini golf, the rock climbing Walls, haven't you heard of fun well you should you'll never replace royal Caribbean.

    Take a hike assholes

  • But will it blend?

  • no way this ever happens...

  • "The sails add significantly to the ship's propulsion"

    Me: :D

    "Waste and Water are recycled"

    Me: D:

  • @SamJamRic mfw ಠ_ಠ

  • Nothing has changed since Titanic. People are still stupid.

  • Wow. . . I'm Shou Kuan. Kataro would love it here. So many girls to freak, it would feel liek the place where we have to accept Jesus to go which is heaven.

  • Wait... Did that diagram just show that the waste and water are recycle together?????? If not together, BESIDE one another????? Won't be drinking ANYTHING on this ship...

  • @muzikislyfe2012 OR showering!!!!
