  • Of course, sadly, you don't see it that way. You're just going to argue that child molesters or rapists CAN be redeemed, and should be treated with love and kindness and understanding. Well, you're wrong on that. Anybody that has raped once will more than likely rape again at some point in the future.

  • Anybody that would rape another human being is irrevocably evil scum. There is no treatment that would work on a rapist or a child molester. There is no point in trying to redeem the irredeemable. Just lock them away somewhere or conclude them.

  • Treatment? You make it sound like its some sort of Growth that you just spread ointment over! We make decisions EVERDAY! We are affected by Circumstances Everyday! It only takes a second to turn a person in a murder or molestation, I dont believe a session or treatmen will just up and heal a bad descision! making GOOD descisions is a DAILY TASK, and ANYONE, can make a bad move in life, rather they be on or off a registry!

  • It is time to tell the truth M.Obama and your healthcare scam is the tip of an iceburg and has not bases in law. Its all about illigal government programs and the spill over from a leagl system that exploits everyone for a few pious long term districtive ideas that hold us all capative at will of the legeslation created by them under the pigheaded freaks that thought this trip up. People that want to kill their own and the kids next door. Lowlives all of you.

  • It's too bad there is no audio I have no idea what your sayign. Treatment does work though, you're right about that.

  • Since they have disabled the audio it makes it impossible to get any information or help from it.

I am the mother of a sex offender, I am looking for help for myself as well as other members of my family.

Would you please contact me by email

    thank you

  • @dreamflight4 if you are still looking for help or resources, please check out our channel. Families suffer when the convicted sex offender is incarcerated and are deserving of help, information, and advice.

  • Great vid! Nice!

Check this out: "Elizabeth Duggan recently completed a two and a half year sentence. He had a prior conviction in 1996 after being accused of fondling four of his neighbors -- three girls and a boy -- whose ages ranged from 6 to 8."

  • It is imperative that we making laws based on hype, hysteria, and hate if we truly want to maximize public safety and protect the quality of life for our children. It is time to demand that lawmakers listen to experts on sexual abuse to determine the right solution.

Thanks for viewing the video and for your comment. Healthy debate is an important part of this process.

  • ...If we treat a person who exposes themselves to or fondles a child with the same level of punishment... ...as one who murders a child we will see a sharp increase in child murders.

It's important to identify the types of crimes and offenders who are amenable to treatment and that we punish those people with some form of imprisonment followed by intensive treatment and lifetime supervision.

  • your comments are correct and not emotionally laden.

I am new person because of treatment and would never reoffend under any circumstances.

I can not speak for someone who is a category one pedophile as they are the most diffucult to treat.

another class of offender that is hard to treat is the man who is attracted to 12-17 year old females.

if is very hard to convince this offender that his behaviour is harmful

  • My fiance underwent treatment as well and he is a totally different person but for the better. I think the thing that most need to understand is that not all sex offenders are pedofiles. It just may have been that due to their age it was easier to offend.

  • Studies show that treatment is very effective for those offenders who are violent. But again, most offenders have committed non-violent crimes. Check out Ricky's story at rickyslifeDOTcom.

  • Jumboband,

There are many initiatives to reform penalty provisions for sex offenses. It is imperative that we strike a balance between appropriate, fiscally practical penalty provisions and maximizing public safety.

There will be unintended consequences in treating every crime with the same punishment. The reason our justice system leads the world is because of certain bedrock principles, one of which is the premise that punishment must fit the crime.

  • Since sex offenders are violent offenders, why aren't we locking them up for long stretches?

I really don't care if violent offenders can be treated. Violent crime should not be tolerated in a civilized society.

Prison space should be set aside for these people and they should serve life. If they are treated in prison, great. That means prison will be a less violent place.

  • Most sex offenders are NOT violent.Violent offenders CAN be treated.Rate rededuced by 50+% from 3.5% over all.Registration/residency laws do more harm and no good.Lawmakers are scared of being accused of being soft on Crime. Many law makers admit this.Scientific facts.Experts are all saying the same. The news is based on ratings and they bring the ratings by deceiving and lieing. The BIG problem is, most of us get ours opinion from the entertainment news media.Educate yourself.

  • the term violent is a legal term that does not presuppose that force or violence of any kind is used against the victim.

if an adult rubs a child on the bottem this is condidered a violent crime. the reason it gets this classification is so that the state gets more funds per inmate from the federal government.

  • You can also be accused of a violent crime for simply bathing your own kids in the tub. There was a case where a father was falsely accused of molestation for simply bathing his kids. The kids themselves testified that he did nothing wrong and the case was dismissed after this father had already been degraded by law enforcement.

  • letsgetreal50, you are 100% correct.

  • in legal terms the word violent does not mean the some one was physically harmed in any way.

the term violent is legal definition that gives the violator more prison time.

for instance being arrested for possesion of drugs within say 1000 feet of a school zone is classified as a violent offense.

  • Majority of sex related offenses are not violent. Alot of those that are registered sex offenders are for crimes over the internet, indecent exposure as well as situations where the contact was consensual. You say violent because you automatically assume the worst case scenerio.

  • Sex offenders have "offended" someone in a "sexual" fashion. Usually, this means they have victimized someone who is weaker than the offender. Therefore, I have no sympathy for those who victimize the weak. They should be segregated from society for as long as possible. Our responsibility is toward protecting the weaker among us.

  • so the adults who watched that old man get hit by a car and did nothing to help him are just a worthless pieces of human debris as the man behind the wheel.

  • I'm sorry but the analogy doesn't fit as a response. Those watching did not hit the man. Sexual "offenders" directly victimize the weak. Therefore they should be segregated from society and I don't care about individual stories of recovery. I do care about men, women, and children being victimized by repeat offenders.

  • jumbo, wrong! You can be a sex offender for mooning or sunbathing. Repeat offenders are a minority as only a small percentage re-offend. There are even young children on some registries for simply playing doctor. The laws are very far-reaching.

  • I don't know that repeat offenders are a minority when it comes to sexual offending. The recidivism rate for sexual offenders is rather high. However, I do believe that the charges falling in the bracket of sex offender are to vast.
