If you have any kindness or compassion, turn him over to a wild life rehabilitation center that actually knows what they are doing and can give him at least a semblence of a decent life.

@WillBraden it's a wild animal, tamed or not, it's not domesticated like a dog or cat, that takes centuries of breeding to do, not only being raised by humans.
this isn't about being with a beagle or anything like that, it's the fact(and has been confirmed by many professionals) that wild animals don't make good pets, horrible ones really, think of it, is it right that it's tearing his house apart? you know what does that? a wild animal, and dogs can be wild and trained, raccoons can not.

@flamedrag18 There are dozens of types of animals that were not bred (which means inbred, starved, had their bones broken, etc.) to be housepets, that, if raised from birth, are perfectly happy in captivity. fuck, there are people in Africa that keep HIPPOS as pets. ferrets? ducks? wolves? parrots? snakes?
the argument that only animals that have been bred for centuries can be pets as TRULY spurious. that really only applies to dogs, cats, and maybe horses. other than that, it's a crapshoot.

The question of "wild" animals existing well in a home should be taken on a case by case basis. This raccoon is mischievous as hell, and tears shit up, but is obviously well cared for and happy. thinking in absolutes only paints you into corners. just snatching up a wild raccoon is illegal, as it should be. but caring for one from birth? not at all.
