@rockacookamanga Oh yes! It's absolutely fabulous with buttercream!! That is my favorite cake :) Thanks very much for stopping by! Take care and visit anytime :)
Is this a madeira cake? I read somewhere that it was the best cake to cover with fondant because its firm and does not crumble as much. What are your thoughts on that? Thanks for all the videos. I really appreciate your patience and information!
@MarcyKerr This butter cake is one of my favorites for wedding cakes because it's so easy to cover with fondant and is firm, yet very moist and delicious :) Thanks very much for stopping by writing! Have a great week!
Thks for this great cake recipe C ! I am so ashamed...baked a 17x23 cake today using 2 Duncan Hines mixes..but, I did make Italian Buttercream to frost it...its for a family BBQ tomorrow in celebration of all the May birthdays - 9 of them. Next time I will be sure to bake your Butter Cake. P.S. I dont care for almond extract either...blech.. to me, it tastes really perfumy & artificial. Give me vanilla everytime. Thanks again !
@mukwah1111 Nice to hear from you :) Duncan Hines mixes are pretty darn good and hey if you topped it with beautiful Italian butter cream, I'm sure it was delicious and a hit with everyone.
Wow...9 birthdays in May...that's a lot. haapy Birthday to one and all!!
@CookingWithCandra Thanks C ! The cake turned out really nice and I also made 50 cake pops on sucker sticks...dipped in pink & blue choc. They were a huge hit. Despite the overcast weather today - a good time was had by all....we didnt get the thunderstorms as forcasted. I hear rumblings out there now tho. Mukwah, my Berner is terrified of fireworks, thunder & any loud noises...so he has skeedaddled down to the bsmt. Have a wonderful nite. All the best from Ontario!
can i iced it with buttercream after that?
