i've always love going to these things in the states! I admit though, some of them are reallly scary while other are cheesy.. all in all it is good fun if going in big groups.

Don't go by yourself though because i guarantee most people won't get through and have to say the password to quit.

Part of it is also acting for entertainment value. If the person is not scared at all (Which I am sure some of them don't) then it will be boring for the audience member to watch. But if they are scared, or at least act scared then the audience find it funny if not just to laugh at the girl's reaction.
