The VK56 is an amazingly well built engine from the factory, It follows in the footsteps of the notorious VH45DE, but based off the VQ engines (Vq35). Nissan has produced amazing quality V8s. Toyota uses the GM/Chevrolet 350 bottom end basically and adapted it to their own likings. Honda doesn't have a production v8 car out yet.
Hyundai, is doing a good job with the TAU 4.6L v8.
check out the CAN-AM Nissan cars from the 80s-90s, and the LeMans Prototypes.
@mrsides89 It's my understanding he is. Kevin put a new powertrain in the car this year and put it on a 200+ pound diet but most of the rest of it was the same at the beginning of the year. Besides, DG5 is a sponsor and it's unreasonable to think they'd use another suspension.
see this is a true testament of how drifting should be. over in japan they have done it for over 20yrs with not huge amounts of power. i think formula d has portrayed to mainstream fans that u need insane amounts of power to be a drifter. u dont need fuckin 500hp to be a contender what u need is a well balanced car.stability and reliability is the key not pumping a motor full of boost

I agree with you, you dont need terminal power to drift well...
however, look at d1 nowadays, they're all about 400/450+hp, that's a shame :/
