Hey retards, the reason the old school electric golf carts did not have good climbing power was because the controllers back then where not able to provide the current levels needed by the series-wound motors to give them high torque. Now controllers used in golf carts are available up to 500 amps. More amps = more torque for DC motors. You cannot directly connect a series wound motor to voltages of 48 volts or you will literally destroy the motor or batteries from extreme current draw.
